I used to work for Copart in Sandy and the letter circled at the bottom of the screen means N for nothing (no power etc) S for starts ( starts but not in a condition to drive) or D for drive ( starts and drives a short distance). You may already know this, but just in case. And yes, the lifters are knobheads!!!!
Thank for producing the content regularly, these video's are something to look forward to after a long day stuck at home with the kids. For my sanity please keep it up :-)
this is getting me very hyped for getting my first car (hopefully) later on in the year! Also good luck with the polo, and i wish copart would take better care in transporting their cars through their lots.
If the car is stolen recovered then the likelihood is the old owner may still have a spare key. Do you have any paperwork with the car that you could reach out to them to see?
Just over 4 grand for a 16 plate GTI! Bargain mate, you'll probably spend around 2k doing it up and you'll still make a nice profit. I'll have it off you once it's done! Btw, your RS3 is mint! 🙂
Nice little channel you've got going lad. The polo just needs original alloys and the tartan interior. Easy sale when done. Good luck with it. Stay safe chap. All the best.
Kin Copart...bought an Alfa gtv cup car (the rare one) out of there, went to collect and they’d done the fork lift screw up but with the side of the car. Scratched and dented complete unnecessary respray, bunch of animals...
Saving Salvage will follow the project and see end result. Came across your channel after watching Matt. Will check out your Instagram page too. Would have offered you for the polo but missus went and got a 2 series.
Copart seems well dodgy, proper cowboys lifting a low mile 2016 car with a forklift 🥴 Keep the content coming though mate! One of my favourite channels thanks for making the effort 👍🏻
It NEVER occurred to me that someone would have thought of removing the engine and giving the impression that the car is being sold with one. My gosh man!
Also buy new brake caliper bolts, as you can only use them once. They strech after its yield torque and if reused they do rust quickly and obviously can snap or crossthread.
I'm a big fan of the Goonzquad brothers, Don't know if you follow them dudes.. ? ermm so seeing this content made me more curious to stay hooked seeing the car finished , Can't wait ... Dannnng son 🤣
Much as I love a project, Copart can do one and doubt I’ll buy from them again. The fees aside the BS by-video inspection is … BS. And as you’ve pointed out here, and as Mat bluntly said, they are damaging cars unnecessarily with the lifters. Keep an eye out for such damage in pictures. If it’s been added since pics taken, get your money back or negotiate a massive discount.
Good luck on the polo. Looks a pretty little car and hope you earn on it. Got to say though not to leave the calliper weight on the brake hose. At least cable tie it up. Anyway you’re doing a sterling job and it a real shame you won’t be transporting whilst we’re in lockdown. Got to earn a dollar...
@@SavingSalvage nice one mate, well, with a nice 2nd hand interior, new keys and a bit of paint work, it'll make a nice car, pretty nippy too with that 1.8 turbo!
If we are supposed to all stay in at the moment how come you can go to your unit and carry on ? Just my unit is only 1.5 miles from my house but I’m not allowed “unnecessary travel” to go there.
It’s my family’s farm and I’m next door bud, luckily I’m the only one with access to the workshop so I just keep myself to myself. (Not that there’s anyone else there anyway 😂)
Whats your thoughts experience on a stolen recovered vin altered car? I have seen there is a few good cars but whats the process with confirmation with dvla car is good
I personally would leave altered vin alone as someone is going to find to hard to believe that you own it when you try to sell it or that it is in fact the car you’re telling them it is.
if you need a complete interior could be cheaper to put some Audi a1 front and rear seats in, full leather s line looks really good and supposedly a straight swap according to forums. wanting to do this with my polo so just an idea.
@@SavingSalvage Will main dealer accept ID other than V5 to order a key?! Don't know whether can order front pads online or is everywhere closed?! Where do you plan selling all finished projects?! Assume was Wisbech Copart, one of smaller ones?!
Audi asked for the V5 when i ordered the S4 key, I had to sales invoice from Copart so they accepted that. Will do the same again for VW, I made a point that the V5 is just the person whos responsible for the car, not the owner. Either document will surfice. And yes it was wisbech :)
Apply for a v5 for the car and information of the previous owner As long as you buy a car from any salvage copart motorhog.... just make sure it states runs and drives if your worried about engine and box

Love your content and channel! Please can you move the camera around a bit slower when handheld? I'm struggling to watch without feeling sick and I want to watch! Good luck with the Polo, I take it you can't search out the previous owner?
Surely it's quicker to put the original rear wheels on the front to clear the brakes and fit the smaller scrap wheels on the rear instead of loosing bolts and wasting time removing calipers ect.
Can you not buy a new or used key fob off fleabay and get your key man to programme to the car mate ? I got lucky few months ago and bought a brand new kia smart key for £105 on fleabay and it was £286 from stealers.....got my key man on the job all sorted but that was a new virgin key so unsure if you can get a used one to do the job ?
The main issue is because i have no keys a normal locksmith wont know what to cut a key too. I could look into a new barrel and key but would like to keep it as OEM as possible. I MAY have got through to a dealer who will order me a kay ASAP. TBC...
Polo needs fair bit of routine stuff, interior, alloys, major service, MOT, air con regas. And cheaper rfl if you used a bit when finished as a '16. Which old Golf did you scrap, not the TDI 150?!
It was only serviced at VW 5k miles ago so doesnt need a service just yet. MOT yes but that wont be an issue.. just needs seats and alloys. Yes I never featured the pd 150 golf on my channel i dont think, it was a few years ago. I had a black one. Audi gave me £4k scrappage allowance and it was only worth £1k so took it :(
Just checked, VCDS can do key and remote but you need the original pin... Which unless you were lucky enough to get the handbook with it in will mean a trip to the dealer or auto locksmith with the right kit... Immo off ecu for this model is a no go as the cluster needs reprogramming too, and you can't adapt a second hand key either, has to be original to the car or brand new.
Do you know where this car was stolen from because this matches another youtuber's car which was stolen quite a while ago from very close to Bradford, the channel was called 'electric leaf man' if you want to check his video out of when and how it was stolen.
