Rest in Heaven, Grayson. As someone who struggles with mental health issues, this hits me hard. You were a great player, a great person, RIP
people who commit suicide go to hell... if you believe in any of that nonsense.
I believe we go to Heaven if we are a Christian and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I do not think our manner of death determines where we go in the afterlife. Mental health struggles are very real and depression can deadly.
Well, that's heretical. All the talk of Graysons "love for Christ" was total bs...he is in hell now, unfortunately

You're one of those pretend Christians that wants to cherry pick the nice things from the Bible and ignore the inconvenient parts... but that ain't how it works, honey.
Social anxiety can also be the fear of just being around people at all so being a Pro Golfer would be tantamount to persecution. I experienced this after my son took his own life. Using alcohol to alleviate these symptoms is quite a typical response. We need to be filled with compassion for this family.
Social anxiety is a real bitch! I suffered from it since I was a small child. Extremely shy they would call it. Inferiority complex it was also called. Avoiding public situations and self medicating were my solutions. This was back in the 50’s and 60’s. Depression certainly is associated with it. I’m very lucky I survived it. I feel for him and his loved ones😢

May Grayson be able to rest in peace. So tragic. I was so shock to hear of his passing and subsequent cause of death. He appeared to be going in the right direction, but you never know what negative thoughts go through individual's minds especially when they are alone. Prayers to all of his family members and friends as they deal with this matter. Losing someone in this manner leaves you with more questions than answers. And those questions don't go away anytime soon. I hope the PGA continues to have contact with his family. They need all the support they can get now and further down the road.
It appears that the trigger was he and his fiancee splitting up.
@@ZenyattaFan1 That's sad. I had wondered when the family issued their statement that the fiancee wasn't mentioned. At the time I thought that was a bit odd.
Im very sorry for the family of Grayson,my brother committed suicide in 2022 and I know the pain u are feeling,my brother battled Depression for a long time and he was a very smart creative person and I was very shook when he took his life, but I realized later that he has no mental pain anymore and he's at peace, again I'm so sorry for Grayson's family..
Sorry for your loss. What people don’t understand is that it may seem selfish to some. But isn’t it selfish of others to want the person to stay here only for their benefit, knowing that it’s a struggle for that person everyday. It’s not easy, any angle you’ll at it. But when people do that. They are just beat by their battle. And don’t want to do it anymore. He obviously knew he was loved and his family and fiancé was close. It’s never that! No one can ever do enough in these situations

Everyone is focusing on how much he had overcome and how he seemed to recently have gotten it all together. When you suffer from depression, over time, you sort of get used to it. It's grey and bleak, and you get numb to the point it starts to feel normal. Happiness and success, which most people welcome, is unsettling because it disrupts your status quo. Where most would feel joy, someone suffering from depression feels anxious. Physically you get tired, weak, and run down. Depression isn't sadness, it's the absence of hope.

@@amiesmith7283 I liked to say I came by this through research and intellectual pursuit, but the hard reality is, I’m living it every day.
My father who was the best guy ever and a young promising golfer friend of mine both took their own loves so I know all about what unfarhomable mental challenges Grayson was feeling….I know he had deleted engagement photos from FB of his Fiance a few days prior and was probably dealing with the trauma of a breakup. He was a man that was pretty close to the edge with heavy struggles with alcoholism and depression….praying for his family…it is the worst nightmare…but God time peace will start to heal…RIP Grayson…we will cherish and remember you.
The alcohol was now history because he was now sober. The breakup perhaps triggered it because he was still battling depression and social
anxiety. Sorry about your own experience. Life is a beast!
I think Scottie's poor play today was probably more due to Grayson's death than the arrest. They had become good friends and Grayson was at his house last week. Scottie mentioned that in his post round interview today.

Grayson had removed all of her pictures from his Instagram account in just the last few days. So I think they had just broken up.

@@ZenyattaFan1, hmm. A huge trigger, considering he was battling depression and anxiety. That’ll add to everything. Too much to bear . He needed to be completely healed but unfortunately, he ended it. It hurts me awfully. Though I never k knew him, he was human like me.

I was wondering if the golf cart crash contributed to his state of mind and possibly CTE. Hope an autopsy is conducted.

No matter what demons you are fighting know nothing is worth your life!
I know all too well. I attempted suicide in 1997 by drinking a bottle of wine and taking a bottle of Tylenol, I knew I would die. My mom immediately took me to the E.R. and I was placed on hold by the state of California for 72 hours and seeked counseling to this day I still battle my demons fear, social anxiety, loss, failure, the list is endless. Being introverted is very hard to remain strong constantly, we constantly look for perfection and when we are silent and focus on a task and we don't make it our extroverted side comes out we yell, throw things, etc. It's the madness within us. because we missed up. Introverted people are very critical of themselves well at least for me. We want perfection and we want to win, we hate to lose. We have the biggest hearts but always seem to fall short!
We'll I'm doing okay I still have good and bad days. I'm involved in church have a son that's now 20 years old and I just take everything one day at a time. I now live for Christ!

Scottie Sheffler was not a surprise, he and Grayson had gotten pretty close over the last 6 7 months, he took the news harder than most players in the tournament.
Grayson and his fiancé were not together anymore. She called off the wedding that was suppose to happen in April 2024.

You wont like this but there are numerous cases of law enforcement officers overreacting. The assumption that the position of law enforcement - without evidence - supersedes civilians is disturbing.
Scottie needs to go on the offensive and sue the police force. The officer appears to be lying. They ESCALATED a NON-SITUATION. Get em' Scot.

The PGA is a Major yes but it has yielded low scores in the past, more so than any other Major
Could this prove problematic for the PGA given the brutal nature of the tour? The costs, the schedule, the cut line etc etc. I don’t have a view personally but can you imagine if this resulted in other players talking about the physical and emotional pressures and the toll it must take on players and family. Something similar happened in tennis a couple of years ago. 🤷🏻
His last head injury may have played a key role in his death

Handing your kid off to a total stranger at 8 years old is so vain, so selfish, so ingrained into Mr. and Mrs. Blueblood wanting that acclaim from the other country clubbers that their little precious Spaulding is the best 8 year old golfer. That 8 year old never grew up, never had a real job, never knew anything else to make him happy, except getting drunk and high. So keep pushing your 8 year olds into the game too early. In the words of Judge Schmayles, the world needs ditch diggers, too. For the next Grayson Murray to fizzle out.

I don't think those demons are ever conquered - just fought off every day. I imagine that it was an every day battle for him, especially since he had gotten out of a really bad place fairly recently.
@@jimiverson3085, they can be, it’s all dependent on who was assisting him. I did , though it took years; lots of prayers and folks that were gifted to assist me. Mine was quite spiritual and I worked with folks that struggled spiritually; they would say they were hearing voices telling them to do something; a command they followed. I will never take a judgment seat, to blame him. Something must have triggered him, that provoked the underlying problem . Him deleting her photos and the parents not mentioning her, were the big red flags. I hurt for a handsome, fit, bro I never knew about or met.

I would guess the fiancee thing is a pretty big deal. Some people know deep down they are just not fit to be husbands but feel pressured to get married. Note that almost all PGA pros get married. As soon as they get engaged they have second thoughts and start having bad nightmares. (Yes, I speak from experience.) Eventually the wedding gets called off. But now the person feels like they have screwed up again and screwed up somebody else's life, namely their fiancee's. Not saying it's the causal event of what happened, but it's probably a part.

Reread what I said. I specifically implied that it was the man who shut down the wedding. Women don't call off weddings with wealthy, talented men. At the very least if she did it was only because she was given some clear signal.

@@stevelarkin5987 well, Mr Murray was a substance abuser. Substance abusers r not easy to be around. They also tend to seek toxic people to be around.
However, to blame this young lady when he clearly had problems, idk 🤷♂️. I assume Mr Murray had a relapsed.

Rex trying to make excuses for Scheffler when he shoots bad rounds, blaming it on the police thing, but when he shoots good scores apparently the police thing magically doesn't matter 🤣 What this is really about is Rex was overhyping Scheffler constantly for months and comparing him to prime Tiger Woods (lol) talking about grand slams etc when Scottie has never won a PGAT or major event after the month of April in a calendar year - and unsurprisingly his takes aged like milk. You are right. Scottie cant win past the masters. I was surprised he teed it off considering what was on his mind with the court case. They are crying cause they have to do their job and tells us about Davis Riley. Scottie was lucky that play wasn't suspended on Saturday when we lost Grayson Murray. He will go to trial I think cause he has already gotten certain perks. He was in jail for 45 min and had his attroney by lunch. Scottie is human when he does it. Considering everybody was going thru the emotions today, I thought +1 was a great round by Scottie.

Good job guys.
Some never admit it but we all have mental health struggles at times. But for too many people the bad times never end…and while love and kindness doesn’t always fix the problem, it’s the best option we got to help. So let’s use it.
