    FYI the manual (at least for a KTM 150) says the gap in the wrist circlip needs to point forward or backward, not up or down.

    Is it a good idea to deglaze the cylinder walls to get proper piston ring seating?

    If that’s you sons bike, I’d make him do all the wrench turning while I tell him what to do.

      That’s my usual approach but it’s not a conducive way to produce a video. Thanks for watching!

    Great video. I wish I had the patience to make shop videos. I have finally started dirt riding following tax season. No videos yet as I'm riding solo due to Mike not being able to ride. I hope to post a flying video this weekend if I can get the final bit of editing done.

    I didn’t realize how much maintenance is required with these. Are the 4 strokes just as much?

    Excellent video, thanks! I'm only hours away from heading out to pick up a 2021 TE150i. I have been struggling with 'do i get the 250 or 150' and honestly I am torn... but I think I'm going to be happy with the 150.

    Nice, I have the orange version at 80 hours. I see you went with the #2 57.95. did you take it apart and measure it first, or did you just assume it would need the 57.95? Wondering if I should break it down and measure before I order the parts.

    • @DirtBikingwithDonnie
      @DirtBikingwithDonnie  3 роки тому +1

      I did not measure it first, but measuring first is the way it really should be done. I typically go to a size 2 or B size on the first top end rebuild. Not necessarily recommending that shortcut but I've never had a problem.

    hello I have a husqvarna te 150 2018 I checked the cylinder pressure and it gave me 65 psi I changed rings and it was the same 65 psi (cylinder in the second measurement changed at 100hrs current 174hrs) what could have happened? the motorcycle now starts with the button before it was difficult to start

  • @alistairbalistair9596

    Do you have an after market exhaust on it? Im assuming I'm going to need one with a spark arrester for trails and quiet would be nice.. Any tps on a good pipe that covers that?

    • @DirtBikingwithDonnie

      We have the Husqvarna branded FMF silencer but it is not the S/A version.

  • @SANDS78
    @SANDS78 3 роки тому +1

    Thanks for posting. Just took mine apart today at 90hrs and it looks decent. After cleaning the cylinder up the exhaust valve will not close. Have you had to take that apart yet?

    • @DirtBikingwithDonnie
      @DirtBikingwithDonnie  3 роки тому +1

      I haven’t taken apart the exhaust valve on the 150 yet. Hope you get it figured out.

      @@DirtBikingwithDonnie Took it all apart and cleaned and lubed it good. Moved freely about five times, now it's back to where it will not close again. From the forum posts I'm seeing the stock control gates are know to bind. Sounds like that's what I got. Bummer.

      It’s a carbureted bike so I just drained the bowl and turned the petcock off.

    I see you put a piston with a 2 on it in, is that what the original one had as well? Secondly, what brand of hydraulic stand do u use and do you like it? Good video, only critique I would have is you should really use a torque wrench on the cylinder and motor mount bolts.

    • @DirtBikingwithDonnie
      @DirtBikingwithDonnie  3 роки тому

      The original was a size 1. I always go to size 2 unless I'm having the cylinder replated. I actually bought the adapter to be able to use a torque wrench on those cylinder head bolts but forgot I had it. I've done it by feel for years and we've put another 80 hours on it since this build.
