- Welcome to Opening Day of the 2023 season at Knoebels Amusement Resort. This year is an exciting year for Knoebels for a few reasons. Not only is a NEW Ride debuting later this year, but it's also the 50th anniversary of the famous Haunted Mansion. Despite unfavorable weather conditions, I decided to come out to see what the day would be like and am I glad I did. This was by far one of the Best opening days at Knoebels in a long time.

Train ride I would ride that first all the time each year I go.
Flying Turns, Haunted Mansion, Bumper Cars, The Airplane wing ride (can't remember its name) Phoenix, Twister and Skaloosh. If I can hit all of those in a trip, I am happy.

I am nostalgic about Black Diamond. I rode it as a kid in Wildwood,NJ when it was gold mine themed.

Yes, I enjoyed spending opening day with you! What a great video! I don't do spinning rides, so I wouldn't be able to partake in that round about ride. lol The on-ride photo feature at the haunted mansion is really a neat idea, your picture is awesome from inside there! I think the Black Diamond looks like so much fun but, it's hard to choose a favorite ride, because they all look fun. Your Frankenchicken sandwich looked good and I'm with you about the bacon, I like it crispy! You got some cool merch items, love the skull mug! I'm glad you had a fun time, the video showed that for sure, it was amazing! Thank you JP!

My school used to do a field trip there every year. Your videos are often around my old stomping grounds.
looks like a great place. reminds me of Kennywood or Idlewild park here in western Pa.

I've always liked amusement parks, so much so that I went as a ride jock for nine years with different carnivals, I've worked everything from the merry-go-round to the ferris wheel all the way up to the super Zyklon roller coaster and the big Bayern Kurve lol ah to be young again so I can enjoy stuff like this

@@JPVideos81 it was in its own way, I learned a lot about everything and how things go together, driving truck, engines, etc etc, you gotta have really good people skills
I grew up close to this park and practically lived there in the summer. I remember when the road that goes through the center of the park was still open and active. Great Video!! Thanks!

Glad to hear opening day went really well despite the threat of rain. Nice to see Nick and Nikki out there enjoying it too. I wish it was a bit closer to me, it's nearly two hours away, but I definitely need to get there soon. Looks like a fantastic park!
I recommend making it an overnight thing. There's a campground on site, but also hotels within 15 minutes. Id love to show you around the park.
Had a great time this year at the park. That train you rode in the beginning made my teeth hurt screeching around the corners. Now I know why they make those boats on site ... they get all banged up hitting the wall since the steering socks. Loved the Pic of you at the end; man, look at those skinny legs! Missed Jill and Lili tho.

I came to Knoebels when they first opened the Twister. I think I rode it about 5 time and could not get enough. It was very smooth in the front and in the back. I Love Knoebels.

That was a lot of fun ..So glad rain didn't ruin the day ( those were some really dark clouds ) ..Fun seeing Nick & Nickie of Nix Crossing ...My favorite rides were the train and the boat . LOL.. not a fan of roller coasters . Would love to mine for gems . I think that would be fun .. Thank you for taking us along ....ready to go back LOL.....

The twister looked scarier than the phoenix. I used to love riding coasters.

Oh I definitely need to go on the twister especially since they took away my favorite ride in great adventure ,years back,the run away train , always , actually my last time there many years ago like 12 the ride after me got stuck in mid air ,I would have had a heart attack ,lol

And yes you did get wet! watched it all. It's strange how I never got a chance to go here when I lived in Pennsylvania. Only west point park and Dorney park.. oh and Hershey park which I enjoyed the most back in the early 80's.
I loved hershey as a kid.
The Mansion Dark ride, next the Merry-go-round & water ride, the train ride hey they're all fun rides.
I have a paper Harper's Weekly, July 15, 1862, talks about Mr. Edison's electric train, it has a Kool pic of a very old steam train. I'll send it to you if you want.😊

Sounds like Knoebels needs to call in The Gravity Group to install their Fabricated Pre-cut Wood on The Twister.
JP, have you ever rode the blue roller coaster by the entrance? I’ve never seen you ride it. It’s been closed every time I’ve been. Always wanted to ride it. Love the look of the haunted house. Can’t wait to go and check it out.
Impulse? I rode it twice since it opened, but dont enjoy it.

Thank you JPV so many family memories I had at Knoble's. What are the prices now? I know that there is free parking and for entering the park. I just want to know what a all day ride pass cost now. I hope someday to take my grandsons there.
I always use tickets so I'm not sure. Their website has all current prices and info.

I think you forgot to show the haunted mansion. I enjoy going to Knoebels I been on that ride circle ride that spins around 18:50 time stamp

Oh & the chicken sandwich looked good. I agree, I love crispy bacon. Rides that speed around in circles... Makes my stomach crazy 😧 😂🤢
Well my favorite rides are the pioneer in Old Smokey I was there last year I do have them up on my UA-cam channel but oops I didn't know you need that filming permit thanks for letting me know have to get it this year and how much does it cost to buy the filming permit
Free and the permit is only for action rides. For rides like the train and haunted mansion you dont need it.

At -- 18:56 -- I was only on a ride like that once. We were going around and as I looked over to the guy next to me he just disappeared.
Turns out some latch had come undone, he was thrown backwards & off the ride. I don't know if he was killed as they ( the park folks at the sea shore got everyone off the ride & away from the scene.
The things you do for your viewers
There was actually a minor incident with the pioneer train during the day, I wanna say around 2 pm or so (not entirely sure of that time). We had boarded the taller, more traditional looking red train (same one you rode) first in the very front through the disability entrance. Some people had started loading on the middle and back cars normally, when we heard this bell alarm. One of the station people shouted "GO!!!" and the conductor took off. All of us that had gotten on the train were looking around confused as to why a half loaded train was being rushed out. Well, turns out the smaller, sleeker red train, had been coming to the stopping point before the station, and very suddenly discovered its brakes no longer worked. No one was hurt, the crew were diligent in insuring no collision happened, and even if it had, it would have been mild. The smaller train was haulted and everyone got off at or near the station safely, and the train was taken out of service while the other two continued on. It was certainly an event though. They also added a photo op to the diesel cars. We got the new season photo passes, and I'm excited to get use of that.

I like the boats now that I'd like u can steer them to..told u I like the kiddy stuff much funner to ride..haaa I'd like drive one them that looks fun..needs more speed tho reach in the back that thing and open up the throttle not long enough ride need to go all around the place 😂

I'm not a rollercoaster person that twister would probably make me 💩 myself..I'm kinda scareT of them things ever since I was little I rode a small one even and ever since then nope nun 4 me thank you..I'll stick to the kiddy rides 😅

Sorry to be a downer, but I don't know if I'll be going back there again... Far too many people know about it, and like everywhere else, their prices have gotten absolutely outrageous. It was a much better part to go to 30 years ago when there were considerably less people going
