You're correct. There are actually 12 states that have cities named Jacksonville. I believe (not sure) but most of these are named in after President Andrew Jackson. Here's the states I could find. Alabama Arkansas Florida Georgia Illinois Missouri New York North Carolina Ohio Oregon Texas Vermont
