I was just visiting lamar from sept 30th for 3 nights, cozy little town, folks there were welcoming, kind, and I love my brothers and sisters in lamar!❤
Bailey Road
love these types of walks but ya need to learn how to pan slowly its hard to watch so fast
Thanks. That was a really old video and I've improved on that aspect over the years. But, it's a good reminder for me to always watch that.
Very nice. You spent a good deal of time at Westminster College. My alma mater. brought back memories. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
'The Third Level' is a beautiful story depicting this town. It's a must read for all.
Dear WWoW, I wrote to you earlier in the summer to tell you that I was using your videos to plan a trip along the Missouri River. I did ... and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You provide such excellent details and beautiful videos. Well, now I'm working on a trip to the Georgia-Carolina coast, based on your videos. I first saw the one you did on Beaufort, and I fell in love with the area. Your channel provides such a wealth of good information. It's a must see for any traveler who wants to see the real area before they build an itinerary. THANK YOU!!!!
Awesome! Thanks so much! I really enjoyed my time in Georgia and South Carolina. I love historic places and found it to be a great place to explore. In just that area I learned a ton about the Revolutionary War all the way to the Civil War that I barely knew about. I also enjoy learning more about smaller towns in other parts of the country. I'm working on a roadtrip for next year that would follow the Lincoln Highway from NYC to California - much of the passing thorough smaller towns. I'm also planning a trip to follow the Naitonal Road from Maryland to Illinois. Basing trip on these types of roads allows me to see smaller towns and learn about parts of the country I don't know much about.
@@WanderingWalksofWonder I can’t wait for those videos! Man, I guess I better start saving my money now!!!
Thanks. For going back in time. 😢😮😅😊
Any time!
On campus work available in Cowley college and welding course provided by Cowley college
I grew up across the street from the first house he showed, where two log cabins are now on the lot. Lot of memories, the post office my dad was the postmaster when they built it, my mom a tour guide in Thralls opera house.
Wow! That is so cool. I fell in love with New Harmony and wondered what it would be like to have lived there. I'd move there in a minute if I could!
I turned the sound on a no description of anything. It’s just someone with a camera, could be any smaller town.
On my older videos That is what I did, over the past 18 months I have made a good effort to narrate more. In fact, I have a newer video of Ponca City I did that explains more of the history of the city as a guided walk. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/5LLXHGqvkR8/v-deo.html
I love this tiny town I just hope all this doesn’t cause this town to explode like Atlanta
In all my travels, this is by far one of the best small towns I've been too. Not only the history is cool, but so is the artistic ambience of the community. My favorite place to visit when I spend the winters in Orange Beach.
When and where and is there a cost?
It's an annual Free event on the lawn of the Liberty Memorial (near Union Station) in KC. Usually it's sometime the first or second weekend of September.
This is again a very nice video of you. The puppets look really cool. Many greetings 😀
Thank you very much! Yes - the puppets were awesome to see. Such creativity!
Im first. Nice walking tour in this awesome place at night friend. Beautiful glow in the dark puppets. I enjoy watching
Thanks for watching!
Hancock is the suburb of Houghton?
All i know id Calumet baking powder comes a red can, i think w a native American on it.
The theatre is of interest to me.
Opening shot says it all. Like everything else in Illinois, Galesburg is falling apart and shrinking.
It is your last spot on I-35 before it becomes the Kansas Turnpike. Not too big. Not too small.
is kirby's still there, right at the end you could almost see it.
First comment from your new subscriber. Excellent sharing of Liberty, MO! Watching your awesome video gives me chills! Sending full support to your great informative channel. ❤
Welcome aboard!
went to school there 40 yrs ago good memories
My daughter graduated there about 8 years ago. Great place to attend school.
I went there before.
It's a great museum = one of the best!
cool
I love this small town. So fun to explore!
Excellent tour and great job. What a beautiful museum! 🤗⚾
Thanks so much! As a KC resident, I'm really proud this museum is in my hometown.
Stayed at the Elms. Had a knock on our door and a voice said room service. I opened the door and a man dressed in period clothing was there. Told him we didn't order anything. Shut the door and reopened a second later thinking it was weird. Long long corridor and no one to be found. Kinda freaky.
Wow! what a spooky and eerie experience.
Why would they rebuild that Pavilion for more tourism? Just a lovely place.
Beautiful town.
It really is!
A few other towns to possibly check out, if you dont mind the drive, Tawas city and East Tawas ( 2 separate towns but real close together) shopping, dining, hotels and motels, a light house, and varios other sights and businesses. About 10-12 miles North of Tawas area, is a little latger town called Oscoda. Shopping, dining, what used to be Wurtsmith Air Force Base, outside of town, now closed, but businesses, medical places, and varios things there. When it was an Air Force Base, it had B-52 Bombers stationed there. Alpena. Way up North, almost to tip of Lower Penninsula. Different sights to see there.
Thanks. I plan on returning to this area in 2025 and will check those towns out!
Where are all the people, looks deserted
I typically record my videos on quiet Sunday mornings just so I can get a better look at the architecture.
Moving there next year. Love the lack of diversity there!
i love the town square sm
It really is a beautiful square that has retained much of its history.
I used to live there. 1985-1987, while I was stationed at Leonard Wood. Had some good times there for sure. Across the street from the square was a bar called -Chucks Place'. A man pulled a knife on me in front of it on the sidewalk one night, that wasn't such a good time tho. But I'm not the one that went to the hospital so it all turned out OK😊
Dang. Where is everyone? That is one seriously vacant campus.
I usually do campus walks on a early Sunday morning so that I can see the buildings and other features easier. Trust me - this is really a crowded campus during the week days.
Cruickshank Estates
Balistreri Dam
Is it different from Oklahoma state university? Which is better please?
Yes - this is the University of OK. Oklahoma State is in Stillwell. As for better - not sure. Both are well known universities with much to offer and have great faculty and facilities. Both also have fantastic athletic teams.
Not Blitz. It’s Biltz.
Borer Drives
Great museum - has a bit of everything. On my list to visit
You should!
The cookie cutters and the circus were a fun surprise!
This is the 3rd video of yours I have watched and really enjoying them. In this one I especially like the way you included some old pictures of how buildings looked in the past. Looks like there are many more that I’ll be interested in seeing. You have a new subscriber!
Awesome! Thanks so much. I started this year adding a more historic view of the towns I walk through and giving much more history. I really appreciate the feedback. It is a lot of fun to do!
Thank you for a wonderful and informative video! Beautiful courthouse. My ancestors lived there long before the courthouse was built. My gg grandfather died there in 1848.
It is a wonderful town to explore. My wife and I recently were in Pittsfield and I wanted to show her the courthouse and other historical areas of town. We had a great time doing the "talking houses" tour - where you could drive by houses that were owned by famous people - or where famous people, like Abe Lincoln, stayed.
Great video.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Have you heard of Cleo Epps? She lived north of town and was a successful business owner. Traffic used to be a whole lot busier in the 1960s.
I have not. But, I will read up on Cleo when I plan on doing more Route 66 videos through that area in 2025.
5:55 gotta love the storms
Should do walking tour of Saugatuck Michigan.
I happen to have a video of there! Hope this link works for you. ua-cam.com/video/g4bw5zAlc2g/v-deo.html
Looks like a well kept town and very quaint. However, the downtown area doesn’t seem to have many retail stores or restaurants, just businesses. Doesn’t look like there is much to do there. Thanks for the video.
There are a few restaurants - and a bit of shopping. The main attraction downtown is the theatre and the many office and government buildings. Most of the restaraunts are just a bit closer to the University which is just about 1/2 mile from the downtown center. There is a cool museum that I hope to visit this Fall downtown as well.
Very Touristy but the Masonic Temple looked good .
Yes I agree. But, it is cool to experience all the same.
