I grew up in Meeker which 14 miles south of Chandler.
On our channel we have investigated several places in Waverly, IA. The Ira sturdevant house( one of Waverly's surviving home), a poor farm and the Bremer County Historical society. If you are interested check us out! Let us know if you have any other locations that we may be interested in.
Why is everything all torn up downtown? What a mess!
Thank you for your video man, I still live here, and Virginia has changed a lot, they've even built a portion of a path across Silver lake.
Wow, that is cool! It's nice to see the city evolving and getting even more beautiful.
Ty I miss living there in the 70s
It's my hometown and seeing the Plaza Lights has been a tradition for me for over 50 years!
@WanderingWalksofWonder I was born there in 57
what phone of camera did you use??
An Osmo Pocket Pro (2)
Went there almost 20 yrs ago. Man, it was way tooo cold in winter
I bet! That's why I spend the winters on the Gulf Coast now :)
I live there and it’s really old but beautiful in its own ways :)
And so historic as well!
@ yes!
That was a great video and tour of downtown. Would love to see a walking history of the south end of St Joe on your channel someday.
I'll add that to my list of ideas!
I grew up in Orangeburg in the 70's. Really sad to see the downtown area so rundown. Crime has gotten so bad.
I used to live in Neosho Mo for a few years, It does have a lot of pretty scenery other than just Big Spring Park, There is also the other park with a small creek & Baseball field. I also still have various family members that still live there.
That's cool! Neosho is a great place to spend some time. I'm going to have to add that other park to my list of places to check out.
No cuts, no cheesy commentary, 10/10 experience almost like I'm there myself. I wish you paused on the plaques though
I will keep that in mind! Thanks for watching!
The first house you show was my great grandmothers home. It is now the Chamber of Commerce!!!
Wow! That's a really cool connection to the town.
❤J.A.P.T.❤❤
insha'Allah
So beautiful and peaceful.
I know - it's truly a special place.
a kool looking town
I would like to have seen Bob Dole's childhood home.
You know - I totally forgot about doing that. I will be back in Russell this summer (or at least in the area) and will redo the video and make sure I get his home in this time.
Thanks Bro.! I interned in his D.C. office in 1978. Great man. Loved by all.
How much it's cost
The Hermann Wurst Haus has the best bacon I've ever eaten. And I've eaten a lot of bacon.
I've had that - and totally agree! The wurst is awesome as well. I've tried at least 10 different kinds and they've all been fantastic.
Seems like kind of a quiet town to have a hard rock cafe in it
Was climbing the hill fun?
Yes - I live not far from there and climb up that hill at least 2-3 times a week (in all weather).
Thanks for this tour. It is nice to see the old alma mater in this format.
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed the tour.
Im 64 now i lived there in 1978 age 17 .lived way back in the hills south of town in the woods. Was a migrent woker in the tomato fields and helped milk cows . I lived in a 2×4 canves hut . HaD a small cave on the property .when it was hot i wood sleep in a cave there loved it .
You've lived a very interesting life! It's cool to hear your stories from Berryville in the 70s.
Once again a great video of you. I really enjoyed watching 😀
Thank you so much 😁
The Strang Line railway was gone before my time, but I remember the lumberyard in and around the old car barn. I'd collect treasure from their scrap bin, take it home and hammer things together. I built forts, bike ramps, treehouses - all kinds of fun.
I used to live there. Lovely town.
It is a great town to explore. I imagine it's kind of cold in the winter - but the summer I was there was awesome!
@@WanderingWalksofWonder Yes, if you don't like the winter I can see it as a summer place. I moved to Arizona because I got tired of the winter. I still have very fond memories of the town. I last visited in 2023. It was very vibrant.
Thank you for posting this!
Thanks for watching!
What street are you on?
I used to live there.
That is so cool. I really loved wandering around the town and enjoyed my views of the lake. I'm sure it's pretty cold there in the winter's though.
I love my city.
Me too! I'm a lifelong KC resident and although I have traveled and worked around the world, this will always be home to me.
Thanks for this! Considering moving to Valpo and this was very helpful.
Glad to hear it! It's a great town.
Where is the boys statue, holding his arm’s up? And did they put the dog’s there too?
Fabulous layouts but whoever filmed this moved the camera too fast most of the time so seeing some of the neat details was was just a blur.
Lol
Eureka Springs is a charming city to visit. My favorite time is Fall.
It truly is a beautiful and historic place to explore!
The camera waving around made me seasick so I couldn't watch this.
very nice model train
Thanks for watching!
Great video.! Very informative.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Anyone remember the name of the clothing store that used to be in the square in the 1960’s or the soda fountain that was near the theater? Fond memories of my teens in Jacksonville.
My father was the first allowed African male to rise to the rank of Major in Orangeburg Fire department. I remember that statue in very well
That is so historic. What a great history of Orangeburg you shared. It must have been quite the honor and you should be very proud of not only his attainment of that rank, but his service to the community.
Thank you for this walk thru of my hometown. No mention of the Dairy O 😂
Its probably the coolest thing for the residents to be able to see canada across the water
I know it was cool when I was wandering around there.
What a beautiful place.
I know, right? It's so magical!
God, thank you for deliverance from evil and from wickedness. Thank you for saving graces. Thank you for salvations and for forgiveness and for abounding grace. I pray that you guide our every step, each and every day. Please help us when and if we must relinquish dogs, cats or pets to the humane society or to someone else. Thank you for guiding our feet and keeping us from falling and from letting go of things that we shouldn’t in Jesus mighty name. Amen 🙏 🤍
Gorgeous college where Mother Nature herself might want to enroll 🌟, selfie-ready sunsets, and a campus so lush even the grass looks like it graduated with honors! 🌳📚
I'm glad you think so! It's one of my favorites!
I used to live there in the early 80's. I went to 5th and 6th grade at Jefferson Elementary (14 minute mark). Thanks for the flashback!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching!
All theses small towns are pretty but have high crime rate.
Morrel Mushroom capital of the USA. Richmond Spartans. I graduated there in 1988 after living in Hardin Central prior ..
Thank you so much!
Thanks!
