    Is that the only oil pan that will work with the 4wd ? ..good job on the video btw

      boop890 that oil pan allowed me to lower the engine as far as possible without doing a body lift. Which i think it would be ugly. But that oil pan is about 1 inch above the axle. The original pan left the engine above the hood at a bad angle. The other option was If I used the original oil pan I would have to cut the firewall and shove the engine in the cab. Not a good option in my opinion. Thanks for watching and subscribe.

    What's the part number to the oil pan on your Nissan V8 swap I'm having a hell of a time finding one with the passenger side dipstick

    so how does the angle suppose to be when im doing a swap of a fuelinjection 5.7 lt1 do i just level it to the frame and the i find the angle of the driveline or the engine itself?

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  8 років тому +1

      Damian Salinas when your using carburetors you want the engine as level as possible. I usually set it with at least 3 degrees to the back and somehow the driveline lines up. im putting in ladder bars so I'm changing the axle angle to match the engine. fuel injection is the samething close to level as possible with a slight angle to the back

    how much would you charge to make the engine mounts? I'm building one and need someone to fab the mounts. Any help would be appreciated.

      Curt Hogeland you can get a local mobile welder to do it. all you need to do install the motor where you want it call him and he'll fab you a set... that's what I was going to do but decided I'll try first.

    Where you able to clear subframe with rear or front sump oil pan?

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  7 років тому

      jesse delgado i used the front sub pan. I had 1/2 inch from the front axle. On a 4wd there are no subframe like a 2wd. The axle is the subframe. But yes it worked fine.

      angelfiggi do these motor mount work with a 2wd?

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  7 років тому

      _tomuchatonce _ these are universal motor mounts you can use them on any subframe 4wd or 2wd.

      angelfiggi okay thanks and did you cut the stock motor mount bracket off the frame ?

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  7 років тому

      _tomuchatonce _ yes. Anything that got in the way of the small block was removed

    What kinda adapter plate do you have to make the motor hook up to the transmission

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  3 роки тому

      None. The 4l60e transmission bolts to the small block chevy

    did you use the stock radiator or what radiator did you use

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  8 років тому

      yes I used stock radiator. surprisingly the temp stays at 180 while driving without the fan on. I did push the radiator support 1/2 inch for extra room

    Why couldnt you have moved the motor back towards the firewall to make room for the driver side motor mount?
    Also, why couldnt you lower the engine in the bay to clear the firewall?

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  7 років тому +1

      Kevin it was as far back as I could go. The transfer case would've hit the torsion bar support. Also that was the lowest I could make the engine go into the bay. I had about 1/2 inch clearance from hitting the front axle.

      angelfiggi I have a 2wd. I realized later why when I saw the transfer case. Thanks for your video. I plan to do this one day with an engine out of my 86 suburban into a 2nd hardbody.

    How did you do a transmission on this d21 for the 4wd

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  3 роки тому

      I used a 4l60e 4x4. I used the drive shaft from a suburban then I took the drive shaft to a drive shaft specialist and made I u joint mate with the d21 axle.

    What was the oil pan off of? Year? Model?

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  4 роки тому

      It was a 62-67 chevy II/ nova v8 oil pan kit. I think my motor had a 2 piece rear main seal. I got it from speedway motors

    Is ur 4x4 working ?

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  3 роки тому

      It did. I ended up removing the electronic transfer case for a manual one. And had the front drive shaft made using chevy drive shaft with Nissan u joint to mate the axle.

    • @lambertosanchezgf1011

      I got the same set up same motor same transfer case im just confused with the oil pan thing would this not fit at all

      @@lambertosanchezgf1011 I used a chevy 2 nova oil pan.. it moves the sump pump to the front. If you try to use the stick chevy pan it will hit the axle.

      What about the plumbing to take it to the front

    • @AngelGarage
      @AngelGarage  3 роки тому

      @@lambertosanchezgf1011 the pan came as a kit with the pick up tube. You would have to remove the old pick up tube and install the new one. It came with instructions.
