One thing I was hoping to hear was a shift to a major key, tonic or relative, just to bring in more variation which then makes the move back to the minor even more dramatic. Beautiful composition that captures the dark mood of the photo. The slurs really do represent the little tree branches to me, and glad you were able to work in 1 staccato not as suggested, haha. This may be my favorite community composition so far.

Ah ha! Absolutely, Paul - I reckon all of these Community Compositions could have so much more development. But I kind of love how the “against the clock” way of composing just forces you to make quick decisions and commit - it’s quite liberating! Particularly when some of my pieces can take over a year before I’m happy with them 😅
