I made it a little over 4 days on blow before I started having intense auditory hallucinations and forced myself to sleep. The cat started talking to me in perfect English and I knew that was the limit.

I blow glass for a living and just recently upgraded my shop. It took me three days and I worked on it 24 hours a day. Only stoped to eat and use the bathroom. I was really delusional but other wise okay. But the next day I woke up I had a crippling migraine. The pain was so intense I couldn't move at all. I have been awake for longer than anyone I know...by many days. I was up for 9 days, 8 nights trying to fall asleep. After waking from a week long medically induced coma, the hospital took me off all my meds (including opiates for back pain) and was unable to sleep due to pain. The worst part wasn't the withdrawal from many medications...it was the boredom...no tv in my room and was not allowed to have my phone. I would love to tell more of the story if you want an interview or something. The 9th night I finally was able to sleep because they put me back on pain meds and gave me a sleeping pill.

Only thing that kept me awake was the bang from constantly dropping the radio when handing it off.

At 16, junior year of high school I was at my peak of addiction with pills and I had very easy access to adderall at that point. I’d stay up 5 days at a time with only taking 30 minute power naps a day, usually ended up falling during school. 5am was the hardest hour to make. It was the worst time of my life but fell addicted to it, even the no sleep. Got everything done. Ruined my body and mental health. I’m 21 and still struggle with it sometimes. This isn’t a hey feel pity for me comment, this is a Jesus Christ I can’t believe they made it 11 days without adderall comment.

My 2nd cousin Tim Horton (now deceased) went through this all the time. He was a NASA engineer and a good one, who sadly contracted brain cancer in the mid-80s. Tim came through surgery to remove the tumor okay, but then incompetent nurses allowed a large air bubble to get into his IV line while he was recovering, resulting in severe brain damage. It basically destroyed his sleep cycles and his ability to get motivated. He would literally be awake for 2 weeks at a time, unable to sleep, and would only sleep after the sheer exhaustion caused him to collapse. It was pure torture and there was basically nothing that could be done for him.

@Jeffrey Nolan I went about 150 hours without sleep once, started losing all cognitive abilities, basically teleporting in blinks around and being confused, I defineatly wont recommend it, at that point I decided I NEED to sleep, as I was losing control to make ANY judgements what was happening or what risk I was at, in bed I had some wierd feelings of "cramping" on the large vein that goes back into heart, I dont remember the name, and I started to panic about it and thought im prob gonna die of heart attack or smthing in sleep or soon, so I thought of smokin some weed because if its muscle/vein cramping, it should help, and it did, calmfully went to sleep, read about it after and found out that feeling I had is usually followed by heart attack. Lucky I guess, or the weed helped to calm the vein muscles and let the blood flow

Have not started it yet but thanks to a medical problem I once went up to 36 days without a single hour of sleep. My landlord, a doctor, prescribed me clonazepam. Desperate to sleep, I ate half the box. I still didn’t sleep, but the pills made me go psychotic. I took a hunting knife and totally trashed one of my forearms. The cuts were deep enough to make me lose strength in that hand, but somehow I just wouldn’t bleed. My family arrived on the morning to visit me and were met by that scene. They took me away to get medical attention for my arm and i finally fell asleep while in the car. I slept for 5 days without walking up for food or to go to the bathroom.

I once went a full week without sleep when I started working from 11pm-7am (would sometimes have to stay until 9-10am) and I thought I’d easily be able to sleep in the day.
I was sorely mistaken. It was a 40 min drive each way and I’d sometimes blink and be a mile down the road.. it was scary and I don’t know how I didn’t get into any accidents.
The job payed quite well to start and the work was relatively easy, but I quit after that week.
I had a friend who worked the same shift and he eventually got used to it, but he changed.

I find I hard to believe that someone went without sleep for 11 days.
Unless they were on some serious drugs.
Your body will make you pass out after 4 to 6 days.
I would have to see this done in a medical setting that can verify the claims

The longest I ever went without sleep was close to three days while sick with swine flu in late 2008. During that time no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t sleep despite feeling exhausted. I remember playing halo on my Xbox and realizing it had taken me almost a day to finish the first mission because either my character would die and I’d just stare at the screen, or I’d be staring at the screen while running endlessly into a wall.

I was laughing historically like the joker in the dark knight when Batman was beating his face in. They eventually sent me to the ICU because I “broke”, as the on call neurologist said. They sent me because, before I went all joker, I was given 5 shots of Ativan and it didn’t phase me even a little. Worst day ever…

Then when I was visiting my friend with which I played mmo's after school or went out and about the whole day slept 1 hour reportedly on his living room chair. So I stopped counting, went home and slept. All with Cola and Coffee nothing else. After 2 nights awake its easier to stay awake because of the high, then comes the crash :(.
