Hi. My name is Phyllis Kurrot. I'm a Wiccan priestess, founder of the tradition of aura and I want to talk to you briefly. I'd love to show you, but we're in limited space, so I want to at least talk to you briefly about casting a circle. Casting a circle is an extraordinary practice. It's one of the most profound means of changing consciousness. When you do this on a regular basis, it becomes a trigger. The minute that you start to lay out your altar; the minute that you start to honor the four directions to move, your entire being-your energy, your mind, your body, your soul all begin to resonate with the magic of being in the presence of the sacred. A circle is a symbol. It's a symbol of the divine feminine. It's a symbol of the womb of creation. It's a symbol of infinity.
But, when you create a circle, the minute that you come into a circle with another group of people, it's no longer a symbol. At that moment it's an act of invocation. The moment a group of people gather together in a circle they have invoked the divine feminine. They have invoked the great mother, just by coming together in the circle and taking that shape together. One reason that we work in circle is that energy is equally distributed throughout a circle. It's very different from traditions that have a guru who sits on a pillow and acolytes or students who sit in front of them. This is the method for teaching and it's common, but when we're working with sacred energy, that energy distributes itself equally. Everybody participates and it's a much more powerful experience than having somebody on a podium or at a lectern and everybody else is sitting passively in pews. You cannot be in a circle alone or with others and be passive. You can receptive, but you can't be passive. And, so a circle, the laws of physics have demonstrated that's one reason we use circular pots when we cook. It distributes the energy equally. And there is within that also a very profound spiritual principle that we are all equal in the presence of the sacred. That we all share it equally. There are those who are more experienced. There is a teacher; there is a priest or a priestess with more skills and more expertise and perhaps more wisdom, but their purpose of being in the circle with you is to facilitate that experience for you and to share their wisdom and their expertise with you. You can work alone or you can work with other people. I think people should do both because each one has its own gift. A circle, when you cast a circle, you are literally creating an energy boundary. I discovered this years ago when somebody got up and walked out of the very first circle that I did on my own on a summer night up in New Hampshire and suddenly we were freezing.
Everyone was freezing and we looked around the circle and we realized that somebody had simply gotten up and walked out. There is a very simple way because energy moves in waves that you cut, like a wave shape and you walk through it and then you close it behind you. So, when you cast a circle, you are essentially creating a cauldron-a container for the energy that you're going to raise within it. And, the container-the cauldron, is the place in which the transformation takes place-your transformation, the transformation of your soul. And, the center of the circle is the point where you and the sacred are conjoined. It's the center of the universe, in a sense and you are the conduit. You are the tree of life, the Axis Mundi, and that's what your spine is.
You're the point of connection between realms and you are able to move between them. When a circle was cast, the old language was circle has cast and we are between the worlds. And, in a sense, you really are. But, what it also means is that it's the place where all those worlds, all the realms, converge, where non-ordinary reality and ordinary reality combine and where you are at the center of the sacred. And, the center of the sacred is within you.
Years of studying wicca she is by far the best teacher its soo uncomplicated how she explains it soo natural it makes me want to cast circuls more often commune with nature ...

people standing in the four quadrants with a staff or sword in hand. Earth, Air, Fire, water respectively, cardinal points. Decide on a God or Goddess to call fourth. Let's say, Ceres for thanks for the harvest. All say fine, they all focus on her to be called. You can worry about the spirits of Claude, Eugine, and Eggbert later. All focus on just her, no others in other words. The North, the one in front of the alter usually casts the circle. Do your qurater calls each direction for protection. DO NOT forget that. Circle cast from any quadrant is fine, N,E,S,W. I usually use may wand and bring blue flame up from the ground to cast the protection circle.
Call her fourth, thank her for her time. Have her favorite incense burning on alter. Ask for healing power and energy. Bask in the ambience. She then leaves. Close the Circle, which requires thanking each quadrant for 0rotection they sent. N E S W. And for there time, they usually give you energy too if calling those in charge of each, bring it back down. Enjoy cake and wine blessed by her on the alter. Maybe have a celebration bon fire out back, circle dance, have fun. You can however have few more in the circle with if you like. Big difference between casting a circle and just dancing in a circle on a bon fire. This is how you introduce yourself to the Divine. After they learn to trust you, they work for you more after you show them these efforts, and devotion, not before or without learning this first. Then they work with you or do not, it depends on your track record here, and if sincere of changing to be like them, etc lots of things.
Most people are still learning lessons in life and are bot ready to be with any God or Goddess to work with them side by side. And still work with Divine in lower ways.Till you get better at life, and loving all things around you etc. etc. I know Ceres and can call her anytime and talk about what is going on, etc. Where as Tom down the street that threw a dog out the window in anger she would not even look at. He has much to learn. Long ways to go. Life is learning to be better not worse. Most do not know that even exist, but you can be taken through Angel escort to a safe nice place, maybe see past relatives etc , see a few things maybe, hang out there. But if you can not even speak the name of a God or Goddess here, you certainly WILL NOT experience the land of the Gods and Goddesses there, I promise you. The beautiful Forest you may experience is run by the Fae there, as a woman did in an out of body experience and begged to go back to, you will not stay if you do not even know them or even admit they even exist. See it maybe in passing. Stay, nope. Etc. Etc. There are many many places alot of hard heads will not ever see, believe me. So choose the path you are on and experience it whenever, the journey starts now, a follower, or leader, learn either way. And what you want can happen, so choose wisely your life. Archangel Michael

Hey so I’m a bit confused..I’m into believing into multiple Gods that aren’t really in the same area mainly between Greek and pagan gods and I’m extremely confused on what I practice/if what I am into is a sort of religion..I practice with spell jars, candle magic, ect but I’m not sure what I am and I’m extremely confused. May someone give me any kind of advice or inform me?
Hey, so I've been a very similar situation for a long time, where I didn't really know "what I was" or what tradition I should be following, or even if I should've been doing witchcraft at all. I wondered if I was just pagan. I've been back and forth many times but I have somewhat stabilised on my path, and it's starting to naturally look a lot like Wicca.
The best advice I would give you is to not try and label yourself so quickly, and let yourself jump from one tradition to the next, whilst also combining different ones together if you wish. The point of this is that in the end you will fizzle out the things that don't work for you, and will be left with the things that do. If you can look at what you're left with and see it resembles more to a specific path, than dive into that path more. Another thing to remember Is not to rush yourself with trying to figure this thing out, you can miss out on just exploring, and experimenting with your craft. It could take a couple months, or it could take a year but it will come. It's also OK to live a bit like a chaos magician, where you practice in a Greek polytheistic way for a certain amount of time - or until u get bored, and then move onto the next tradition you want. Don't forget that just because you don't have a set title to describe how you spiritually "get off", because you're still doing magic or being spiritual even if it's a mish Mash of things, aka eclectic. Also, be kind on yourself if you don't feel like doing magic for a while and just want to focus on more pagan worship side of things. We all have phases where we lean towards one thing more than the other, it doesn't mean u are no longer that thing just because you've been enjoying and focusing on another for a while.
I hope this helps and makes sense... In short, let yourself be free and all over the place, you've got your whole life!
Also another thing to note is to make up your own title if you're not sure! Make up a word or description for yourself with totally new words haha, you do not have to fit into an already fixed category if you don't connect with any.

Need to rename this the history of the circle and its purpose. It does not at any point teach how to cast a circle. Misleading title.
Why do I feel like I know everything she's talking about, more like faintly remembering something that hasn't occured yet.

The title is very misleading. Great information about what a circle is and why to use it, but the title of the video is "How to cast a circle," so how do actually cast a circle? Please actually do what your video says.

Protective circle protects the summoner but what about the other people in our house who will not even know about our ritual? Are they in danger? And how can we protect them?
