I have some experience with parrots, he looks quite distressed at times... He really does behave like he heard it in person. For example it seems the woman was further away than the man, if it was on TV he would have been able to replicate both voices at the same loudness. But you can hear just like he was a recording machine and the woman starts a fight from further away and then comes close. Again on TV a movie would have both people's microphones input and he would hear both clearly. Poor bird has bird PTSD. They're very social. He definitely understand that his owner was stressed. The woman is in prison now tho
These birds understand stress of those in their proximity. They're more likely to remember and mimic things like an intense argument between owners, things said in anger, expletives, etc. Often times it takes repetition to get a bird to mimic you, but when they hear yelling/screaming/distress...they often immediately pick up on it.
I had a parrot that witnessed his owner being pushed down stairs in a home invasion and also having the pet store roof cave in on him from excessive snow. He talked about these traumas all the time. If they saw it and they are proficient speakers they try to tell us.
Well, to be fair a 3rd-party account of the last words of the victim aren't really useful in most cases anyway. Any human witness who had this info and nothing else would either be arrested under probable cause or rejected as a witness as well. Now, if there was a name, THEN it could be a bit more useful.
l have several people living in my house...and have an African Grey... he mimic exactly each one's voice... if this parrot is saying 'Don't fucking shoot' in the person who got murdered voice......than the parrot is 100 percent right.... he did hear that... and it is exactly what he heard..... had my parrot for 20 years.... so l know this parrot is right.. he saw it, he heard it and he is saying it..... Parrot mimic exact voices of people around them... and if that person is dead now..... and not here to teach him to say, 'Don't fucking shoot'.... he has definitely not picked it up from another person other than the one that has died...if it is his voice that he is saying these words...
Glenna got sentenced to life in prison after investigators found she had outstanding debts and suicide notes. Poor Bud must be traumatized. He got justice for his dad and that makes him a hero to me.
that poor bird 100% has PTSD. you can tell he heard it because the voices are not only different but one voice sound loader (meaning it was closer to where he heard it) and one is quieter (like it’s far away)
And that’s because both the wife and husband went in and out of rooms and were heard in each of there whereabouts in the house then he heard the gunshots, Marty had 2 entrance wounds and 2 exit wounds the gun used was possibly a 44 magnum revolver and the wife possibly shot herself with it but she failed to kill herself after she brutally shot her husband, possibly the bird performed the reenactment of the shooting to the police and then to the judge in her jury trial that found Glenna guilty of all charges and she was sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole
Parrots are very smart , as smart as a four year old child . They have good memories . They have many emotions , love , hate , jealousy , joy ... He loved his owner it's a bond like parent and child , he's traumatized , like any child would be after seeing his father murdered and a suicide of his caregiver . In a way that bird is a way of understanding the Terror that his owner went through seconds before dying , I think it's very important to bring that into the courtroom .
I'm so glad to know he's back with his original mom and has another parrot brother (or sister). Wish the station would do a follow up to see how he's been coping with the trauma. (FYI to the reporter, animal lovers don't like people referring to animals as "it").
Ah now I feel bad for laughing when I read "parrot, possible murder witness"...I thought it would just be a parrot that shouts random things that sound like hes trying to kill someone ...
People are feeling bad for the bird. I feel bad for the man. The man probably had to endure a lot of domestic abuse from his wife before she finally shot him. Horrifying stuff. May he rest in peace.
I always said that the Akita with the bloody paws that led two people walking around Brentwood late at night to Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman's bodies knows who killed them. That was Nicole'd family dog BTW. Akitas are very intelligent. I bet if they brought the Akita into court and had OJ try to pet it, the dog would have gone wild. Case closed.
Ikr? Also I know this is old but Turnabout Goodbyes first came out 2001(Japan) for GBA and 2005 for Nintendo DS... That's 15 years (2001 to 2016) ahead of its time as well... Scary....
I have a friend with an African grey and its mimic's are accurate, they can't mimic what they've heard in another voice so anyone can tell who the parrot mimicked the word or phrase from. Not saying their mimicry is perfect but their limitations are what make their mimics distinguishable.
they definitely mimic exactly in the exact voice of each and every person that is around them... mine does this, they have just a remarkable ability to also mimic any other sounds around them... to also mimic other pets too..
Yes, they are pretty nice pets, if you know how to care for such a sensitive animal, and teach it that being pet isn't a threat to it. Otherwise, no. Also they live almost as long as a human, so if you intend on getting one, please think it through thoroughly. - Just another concerned animal lover
Yeah if it was something he saw on TV he would say it in the voice of the person on TV not his owner. Most parrots speak in a distinct parrot voice so you can’t really tell who they’re copying but grays are different & mimic specific sounds and voices... BUT trying convincing non-bird owners that
It's not hard to corroborate a voice. The bird is saying "don't shoot" in a desperate tone in the voice of a man who was shot to death. This is the sort of thing that will seer itself in a jurors mind and provide an emotional lynch pin when you go to sentencing. if i were working that case, I'd get it admitted, not dismiss it out of hand just because it might hurt your pride to bring cartoonish evidence on board.
The bird has a mind like a 5 year old. A 5 year old saw his father beg for his life, murdered by his mother, and witness him mom try to kill herself while trapped in a locked cage. If the bird was in the house when it happened then wouldn't everything be true???
They probably couldn't find a movie or crime show where someone yells ..Don't f - - - - - - g shoot..which is a pretty unique way of putting that term and since it was using the owners tone of voice then switching over to the wife's voice probably was solid enough evidence in nailing her.
So, Ace Attorney had this exact thing happen. The game came out in 2001. It happened in the year 2016 in their universe. This happened in the year 2016 in real life. Coicidence? I think not.
The thing with african greys... they don't just mimic like an amazon or a macaw they actually are like little recorders, they say things in the voices they hear.
If it wasn't for a few details, I would thought it's the parrot who did the botched job and now it's having remorse But of course only a raging woman would shoot his husband five times. Only a woman (especially the blonde ones) would think of leaving not one but three suicide letters to be more convincing (please don't laugh) Of course a man will yell only to his woman: "Don't ..ing do it" (if he was to be yelling to his parrot, he would have added "you noisy bird") Of course a parrot will keep in memory the last words he heard under a strong impression of the shooting moment We all know but the justice So give the parrot some beer and bring him in testimony, it's already properly dressed
