Please revive Church Street. I’m a native and I remember Sundays after church going downtown, to play on the arcade, go to the downtown library and Church St was just a family friendly daytime space
Downtown, there is a noticeable lack of family-friendly amenities, and the issue of homelessness is prevalent. The city should prioritize addressing these concerns as a top priority.
Orlando can learn a lot from Toronto about how to blend that downtown city feel with nature, creative spaces, entertainment, arts, culture in general. I think Orlando can achieve this and it might not be that difficult since you already have droves of visitors anyway with the theme parks that can help support this initiative during development stages before the city really takes off and reaps the rewards. Also, some high speed streetcar lines could be a great accelerator as well.
Orlando deserves a downtown to rival the established NorthEast American metropolises. Hopefully it gets the investment a major city needs. I like what these guys are doing, we desperately need more walkable spaces.
I love this, and I have kept saying. Orlando is going to continue to attract tourist…but the downtown I feel is about to continue to explode. I see Tampa and Orlando really morphing even more and bringing more people in. I also foresee more young professionals moving to the city who are outside of the theme park industry.
Awesome vid, Ken. I think we really need more cultural vibes. I remember when Haight and Ashberry in SF was an awesome hip vibe it's a husk of what it was😢. I'm hoping that we in central Florida don't make some of the same mistakes.
And why dont the make the area around the magic stadium and call it magic square especially where the new outdoor space that they are renovating and give us a big statue of a magician in a black tuxedo suite that sparkles at night and his face/hands and taylor shoes lights up and make sure he has a big mustach whats so hard about them coming up with ideas like that!!!
Yeah come on this is gentrification. Just just call it out. This is straight up gentrification. To not even call out the historic area for what it is is absolutely ridiculous.
Instead of calling orlando O-town why not call it Double O-town since it has 2 O's in it i also like calling it Big-O Lil-o and oakland califorian already uses it and ohio and its some more so yea lets be more unique guys!!!

Church street is where 21 year olds go to get wasted and get in fights

Yes, definitely more walkable spaces and bike friendly if possible
Orlando néeds more lakeside dining and waterfront entertainment. Sanford has a huge lake and it seems to be underused
Fantastic

Close to the soccer stadium scares the bleep out of me
Not gonna lie. Same. The homeless need help. The city needs safety. Hope the city’s plan comes through

The city needs prioritize safety, homeliness and parking to get families / tourist to come to downtown.
Fully agree

The more things change, the more they remain the same
About time this place gets gentrified into a safe place for our citizens , all that ghetto mess has to go

We need professional jobs with high wages come downtown Orlando. We do not need bars or food trucks. We need class!!!!
