  • Learn a bead weaving technique - flat chenille stitch - and create this fab cuff.You'll also be shown how to add the clasp so that you can complete the project.
    It feels incredibly comfortable to wear and using contrasting coloured demi rounds next to the Miyuki rounds creates a striking effect.

      HI Joan...again it's not something I've tried to do and I wonder if you would get the turns in the correct place to get the beads in the right positions for the next row? You could try a 1 inch strip and if it's working for you then happy days!! :-) x

    Very pretty. I could never do anything, let alone bead with long nails. How do you do it? Could you use 11/0 seed beads, 11/0 demi rounds, and 15/0s?

    • @JoBarclayLoggie
      @JoBarclayLoggie  5 років тому +1

      lol!! I've got used to the nails!! Of course you can use 11/0's and 15/0's...it would be a little more fiddly and take a little longer....but you'd still get the same effect! x

    MY BRACELET IS STARTING TO CURVE??? I CHOOSE TO USE ALL SIZE 11 FOR THE SILVER IS THIS WHY? OR AM I MAKING THE THREAD TO TIGHT?

    • @JoBarclayLoggie
      @JoBarclayLoggie  4 роки тому +1

      Your demi rounds need to be the same size as your normal seed beads. So if you're using 11/0 round seed beads....then by all means use 11/0 demi rounds....but if you're using 11/0 round send beads with 8/0 demi rounds ....the demi rounds are going to swamp the seed beads and pull your bracelet out of shape. If you're using 11/0 seed beads and 11/0 demi rounds...perhaps your tension is a little tight.

  • @susanmorrison2372
    @susanmorrison2372 4 роки тому +1

    Beautiful! Two questions, what exactly is a Demi-round, and where do you get them?

    • @JoBarclayLoggie
      @JoBarclayLoggie  4 роки тому

      Hi Susan....demi rounds come in the same sizes as normal seed beads - i.e. 11/0's and 8/0's but as their name suggests ;-) - they are only half the width of a normal round 11/0 or 8/0. They're like fillers (botox) for beads and can be a great addition to your designs! I get mine from Tanzee Designs who are based in the UK...x

    Hi, I just found your channel and I’m dying to make this gorgeous bracelet! My question is can I substitute Miyuki flat rondelle beads for the Toho Demi rounds? The ones I have measure 3mm x 1.3mm. I also have Czech O beads but I’m pretty sure those won’t work...too big. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece! Danielle from CA.

    • @JoBarclayLoggie
      @JoBarclayLoggie  5 років тому +1

      Hi Danielle...Welcome....it's a pleasure to have you 'onboard'! I've not heard of Miyuki flat rondelles - I've seen miyuki spacers and wonder if they're the same thing. But what I can tell you...and only because you've been able to give me the size of your rondelles...is that I think they'd be perfect! Toho demi rounds 8/0 size are 3mm x 1.15mm so there's not much in it! GO FOR IT!!!! And when you're finished I'd love to see it...post a pic to facebook.com/JoBarclayLoggie

    Do you have to use demi round beads??

    • @JoBarclayLoggie
      @JoBarclayLoggie  5 років тому +1

      Hi Linda - I used them as a demi round 8/0 is half the size(width) of a normal Miyuki 8/0....similarly if you were downsizing in scale an 11/0 demi round would be half the width of a normal miyuki 11/0. Having said that, I'm sure you could try exactly the same technique with a variety of substituted beads. There are also "O beads" which look like demi rounds- but I'm not 100% sure on their actual size.
