I love chenille stitch beaded ropes! They're so skinny and flexible. And if you want to you can even shape them around things. I once made teardrop shaped earrings by making chenille rope out of 15/0s and shaping it around a rivoli bezel. :D
Wonderful, Stephanie! I've been wanting to learn this stitch, and I knew if I could find a tutorial by you, I'd have no problem learning how to do it! Thanks (again!) so much! 🥰
Thanks so much Stephanie for teaching this stitch. I tried learning another person's way just to see and there is no comparison, I learned from you. YOU YOU YOU are the BESTEST!!!! xoxoxox
Stephanie, thank you so much for this tutorial. I just started beading about 3 months and I'm hooked; but, I was fighting with this stitch. You explained the steps so clearly, that I can't believe it was so simple. Thanks again. I'm hoping to master you hematite heaven ensemble in all its forms. Much love and appreciation!
Thank you so much for your comment!!! This was a challenging stitch to teach on video so I'm glad to know it worked for you! Enjoy the Hematite Heaven ensemble!
+Viki B Yay!!! Vicki, I'm so happy this helped you!!! If you read any of the other comments, I was worried about it being understandable!!! I'm so glad it's working!!!
Thank you for the tutorial. I think I will try using 11/0, add a bicone at each end and use it for a toggle instead of the peyote I have been using. This just looks so much nicer.
Hi Stephanie. Thank you once again for a wonderful tutorial. I so enjoy your calm manner and clear instructions. First try I messed up but now I have a beautiful turquoise and silver necklace working. I like this stitch a lot and always enjoy your videos. I’ve learned so much from you and did well at our local Christmas Fair. Gratefully, Judith
+Kateri Dubois I'm thrilled the tutorial worked of you Kateri :) I wasn't sure about it at first but I'm getting positive feedback so Yay!!! I'm so glad!!!!
+rebeccajns Thank you rebeccajns!!! Took me many "takes" to get this little one understandable lol Thank you for the kind comment rebecca, I am always trying to improve y teaching skills!
I love your tutorials always so well explained, I have done tubular but never chenille, a friend of mine was wearing a beautiful stunning bracelet asked her where she got she said at Etzy and the name was "flat chenille", not wanting to impose on you could you possible demonstrate the flat stitch, I will greatly appreciated. Thank you
You're welcome Tammy🌻 This is a tough one that probably needs multiple views to get it lol I know it took me multiple hours just to make it😃 It's worth it if you really like the stitch. Otherwise just an interesting tut to have around lol💐🌺🌸
That's REALLY COOL! Miss beading, but I've got to finish this major project, soooo hard to stay on TRACK. SO MANY PRETTY THING TO MAKE, MUCH BE A GOOD GIRL!!😭😭😭😭😭
HI Stephanie, I watched this great video of your Chenille Stitch and am wondering how it is finished. I would love to make a bracelet using this stitch. I will look for other videos about as, obviously, this is an older video. Thank you
Thank you for another great tutorial. You are a very good teacher and made this stitch very easy to follow. You are my favorite designer and I have learned a lot about what I like in colors and designs by following you. Any chance you will be going to the Bead and Button show in Milwaukee? I would love to meet you.
+Theresa Morefield Thank you so much Theresa! I am so happy to hear that this tutorial is working as I was unsure if it was clear enough!!! I really appreciate your comment Theresa - I am always trying to improve my teaching skills so when I read a comment like yours, I feel as if I'm on the right track lol
+Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry yes, like a rope for the mother earth pendant? I made a couple of the mother earth pendant and used kumihimo rope. but this I think would really look nice. just have to make the bail a little larger I think
I wonder if you can use other beads in the centers - perhaps something with sparkle like a bicone? wouldn't that help it to angle around it? I realize they would have be small bicones but the metallic ones came to mind as you were doing this- challenge, perhaps?
No I did not get a reply but I tried it and it is GREAT! I used 6/0 beads and 4mm bicones. It looks more like lattice than chenille (more open looking) but it is still beautiful. I think if I had smaller bicones it would have looked more chenille-like. I just had these on hand. I have ordered some 2mm bicones and want to try it when they arrive.
Haha so sorry Dave😬 I read your comment and was going to try your suggestion and I totally forgot!!! I am intrigued by the use of a bicone. I have 3mm bicones which I will try and let you know how it goes. Think about joining us on Facebook - you can post pics, talk w/other bead artists etc. facebook.com/BronzepoyBeadedJewelry
l love this one. lts great for childrem as wel. this looks really lovely in barbie colors. oh yes its a grandmother talk l know.grandmothers are BARBIE PINK hahahahaha.darling l hope to see you making a beeeeeeautifull flat celline bracelet for us one day. also there are not many tutorials about it AND people are looking and asking for that all the time in many pages.you know me l am subscriber on maaaany pages and l love reading a bit of the coments from each video l watch and that s why l know that.but pleeease if you make that than not only the sticth but a full design ok.? l ask a lot he? its your falt cause you make DREAMS COME TRUE hugs and a blessed inspired week
Thank you for another nice tutorial. I always enjoy doing the chenille stitch, I work mine clockwise where you go counterclockwise, lol. Take care x0x0
Fab! This looks like such a fun stitch and I love the look of it. I prefer flat designs to tubular designs. Is there a flat chenille stitch? If so, can you do a tutorial (you may have done one already?) Thanks, love!
Kathy, Thanks for the tip about flat chenille stitch🌺 I love it flat🌻 If anyone wants a video tutorial let me know! I'd be happy to make one! You might not need it as Kathy has given you a website to find it in print💜 💙💚
G'Day My Wonderful Friend, Before I make a comment about this little bit of fabulous I have great delight in letting you know that I have overcome our "little problem" It was solved last night by my wonderful daughter (the whiz with her computer knowledge) who worked it out for me....so guess where I've been this morning!!!!! What a wonderful stitch and you Master may have just given your little grasshopper an idea on how to finish a design that I had no idea how to finish. Those gorgeous colours you use in the demo are simply heavenly. Do let me know the name of each please. I have always loved blue and green together..... there's just some thing that always reminds me of my Scottish roots...just love them both!!!!!! I forget which of your videos that I describe how I worked bead Embroidery and I have found a Lovely lady called Gail Nettles. Her site is called Beaded Jewelry Diva and if you look at her video called .... Bead Embroidery 101 she sews in the same way as I do. I always think that it is easier to follow by watching someone doing it (as I have with you my Master of the Beads) then in reading. The action some how makes more sense. If you are reading this Kerstin then go and have a look). I find that the way in which I do it is so much quicker and less hard on the hands....just my thought and take on it and you may feel better with the way that you do it. What did yo think of my idea I had about Kerstin that I had mention in your last video...I am at the moment working on another one of my "Odes" and when I have finished it I will put it up on this video. Would love to see more pic's of Andrew .... the one I saw was good but would like to see some better ones of him....If you have the time to do so. I loved this video and look forward to seeing what you come up with in a design using this delightful stitch.....knowing you it will be grand one. As I was out most of the morning, I am now faced with a dilemma to go back to the lovely place I was this morning or do the boring housework....it's just like picking which chocolate you want and knowing that you should have picked the other one first! I can hear you through the air ways telling me to go do the housework first then I can go back to that lovely place....OK..I will but first I will make a quick visit first...... So from a cold afternoon take care my little polar bear. Blessings XXXOOOOOOOX
+Chris Phillips Thanks sweetie! I was going to ask you if your daughter helped you lol!!! I go to my son for many computer issues lol I'm glad you like this stitch (personally I go cross-eyed with ropes!!! Not my favorite thing probably because I'm not a natural rope beader lol!!! Regarding the bead embroidery, I have watched Beaded jewelry Diva for years and I think we really do our beading the same way other than the counter clockwise beading which is something I am doing now thanks to my Wonder Down Under!!! I tried using four beads (four six backstitch is it called?) but found the beads sit better on an oval or oddly shaped cab better using 2 stitch back stitch. Other than that I don't see a difference :) XOXO
+Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry I looooovvvvveeeeee doing ropes and then to combine them with pieces of beaded flowers or designs and as well as bead Embroidery is to me exciting. It's the part of beading that really draws me in.....it has become my "addiction" !!!!!! I prefer to do this style of beading as opposed to doing thread work....I still like to do it but not as much as I have done in the past. As I have trouble with getting some of the bead material to do bracelets e.t.c. I now find that by doing bead Embroidery and ropes, my availability of materials is lot easier for me to obtain. And I find that making ropes is very "relaxing" and "soothing on the soul" lol..... Well with tummy rumbling and with need to have some Breakfast and an "even more urgent need of coffee", I will love and leave you and say G'Evening to you my little polar bear......XXXOOOOOX
Hi Chris :) I hear ya honey!!! So many beads and stitches and projects lol :) I too am in love with Bead Embroidery! Love the creativity of it and the freedom..Ropes are my BIG challenge! I love them when they are a few inches long and then I think about all that beading I have to do to finish it lol ;) That being said, I believe that what challenges us makes us grow so I see more ropes in my future!
Yeah, I watched it on a larger screen and I could see where your thread was coming out when you started the finishing herringbone part and I managed to finish it, woohoo.
Also...If I make this for a man, do you have a good manly idea for a clasp for this and other things? I like using your ideas for clasps ...I use them alot ! Thank you again for these videos
Hi Nancy! I am also looking for a good man - clasp lol so I can add some man jewelry to my channel. I haven't found one I like yet but when I do I will share it with you :)
Lol... That's funny. I don't know why lol. Thank you. If I think of something I'll let you know. Men and beads don't seem to go too good together. We should try to change that ! My guy loves the things I make but I can't see him wearing most of it. Lol.
I agree Nancy. I think it all has to do with the clasp and using "man beads" lol I think many of my designs can be made for men using different beads and man clasps!!! My guy keeps asking me for a man version of many of my pieces lol
Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry Yes I agree that many of your designs can be used for a man. My guy likes my loomed hings but I just use leather for those closures . But he really likes the things I learn here and especially this tutorial . So I'm gonna work it up for him...just gotta get the right clasp. Im using matte black and dk. bronze
Hi Terry🌻 This stitch is confusing! It took me about seven "takes" just to get a tutorial that I thought would be understandable🤓 Lol 🌸 If you watch the tubular herringbone tutorial it might help. I hope you give it another try! Took me forever to learn this one too💐💐💐 Let me know how it goes!
I've watched it twice, the pattern was simple until you got to the last two rows and I could not see what beads you were going into or what you were doing. I think I'll go to bed and tackle it fresh tomorrow when I'm not so frustrated, lol, grrr. Ok Linda think happy thoughts, happy thoughts, good night.
Hi Linda🌻😃😉 This is a difficult stitch to learn and to teach! It took me about a dozen tries to learn it and I still need to look at instructions💖 If you want you can send me a picture of where you are getting stuck and I will talk you through it🌻 Also, if you send me the time stamp on the part of the video you are not sure if I'll write you back with instructions💐💐💐
Hi Stephanie, thanks, it is just where it switches back to the herringbone that I couldn't figure out, the rest was easy, but it was late and I was tired and cranky and had no patience, lol. I will get back to it later today and I'm sure it will be ok. Your tutorials are the best so I'm sure the problem was me not you.
Just want to say you are hands down the easiest and best person to understand! Can't say thanks enough! Love your videos.
I love chenille stitch beaded ropes! They're so skinny and flexible. And if you want to you can even shape them around things. I once made teardrop shaped earrings by making chenille rope out of 15/0s and shaping it around a rivoli bezel. :D

Thank you for the tutorial. I think I will try using 11/0, add a bicone at each end and use it for a toggle instead of the peyote I have been using. This just looks so much nicer.
