Back in 1992 I was an intern in a spanish company in Barcelona..I came from France where the PF had a success in independant charts..I was alone in this city when one night I went to a bar and this song was played by the DJ who loved it..
Loved this song when I heard it the first time back in the 90s, but I was surprised not knowing it was one of the songs from the Pale Fountains. The other song from them that I liked was _Across the Kitchen Table_ and I heard that one back in the 80s. Yeah they have a great sound, and great songs, but they're mavericks and a class of their own, and so niched and apart from the rest of the bands back in the 80s. But they are the cornerstone of indie rock. Without them there wouldn't be _The Lotus Eaters, The Smiths, or Railway Children_ to name a few.
Went to see The Paleys last night in Liverpool. Brilliant, a night full of great song and great memories. They even did Comedy for an encore! How Michael Head isn't huge has always been a mystery to me
Don't mind if it ain't a massive hit back then for as long as I've known PF and enjoyed my youth by listening to them! It's a rare thing back then and till now we can put a smile on each other's face...and it's a treasure to meet someone who dig same music!
Great sound, music and voice. Love the Herb Albert Spanish element in this. I cannot believe I never heard this before not even on internet radio the last 10 years.
Very nice contribution! Pacific Street, together with the Housemartins' album, HUll 3London 0 are two of the vest albums you can bring a long in a car for a long drive on the countryside.
Head It's the same old story How you're gonna change the world And you've hurt all the people A promise, a promise, a promise, a promise. And there's just one tiny problem That just seems to linger Well, you can just about ... in my house And there's one thing certain . You're really gonna start a war You're really gonna start a war Just listen what they're saying, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're really gonna start a war You're really gonna start a war Just listen what they're saying. Walking through a sunset Let's ... and ... yawning I see an old friend And a light that surrounds me. And I'm trying to get back back back home And there's one thing certain . You're really gonna start a war You're really gonna start a war Just listen what they're saying, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're really gonna start a war You're really gonna start a war Just listen what they're saying. You're really gonna start a war You're really gonna start a war Just listen what they're saying, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're really gonna start a war You're really gonna start a war Just listen what they're saying.
Hi, Man, this album is from another planet. I don't own anything like it. Same vibe as Felt, but you gotta love those oil drums on Faithful Pillow. Question: Where can I find the lyrics for this album?
Favourite PF song and top trumpeting from Andy Diagram.. always thought even with James he just adds a unique sound to these bands
Awesome song, from a super band. What a sound they had. They never fail to inspire!
Pacific Street is one of my all time favourite albums!
I was an intern in Madrid back in 1990...I went to a bar one night and the DJ played THIS SONG..

One of the compensations of being 48 is that I can say "I was there at the time!" Great song, should've been a hit
Yo tambien soy un gran fan de este grupo. Qué buenas canciones!!

Shot me back to 1987. So happy to have heard this again! X
Heard this back in 85 at my girlfriends house, just had to get my own copy knew I'd regret it forever if I didn't.

Possibly their best song. Great guitar sound from John and brass from Andy. I never tire of hearing this.
Yes, too many great songs to fit into one set. I've always loved these guys and to me they still are and always will be huge stars.

Hi,
Man, this album is from another planet. I don't own anything like it. Same vibe as Felt, but you gotta love those oil drums on Faithful Pillow.
Question: Where can I find the lyrics for this album?
You can find tons of lyrics on the Net man.
BON SANG
Hey guys, I swore their video of "Thank You" was on UA-cam before. Where is it?
What is the true title?
You'll Start A War ? Or (Don't Let Your Love) Start A War?
I second Gratg60!
@walleyrange I think there were substance abuse issues.
