Congratulations on the partnership! The time and passion you put into the channel is evident in the quality of the content. Thank you for supporting the community, Herzog!
I knew it wasn't realistic to send you to Cali to cover HSR and/or Brightline West the same as you have Brightline; however this is a very nice 2nd place to me. Thanks for being so passionate with your content.
From WC, part of my family lived in FLA from 1961 to 1999, my parents are buried in Demand. My family left in 1980, my brother & his family stayed until 1999. To the best of my knowledge none of this was available any of this time, the only way you got from point A to point B was by car, so this is quite an improvement, I hope all of the rail systems can work together to make a total system to cover all of FLA! It seems to me that this will be the only way for rail travel to work in FLA! Good video keep up the good work! You have covered the triangle of Deland, Debary, and Orlando where parts of our family lived!
Really appreciate all the work you do in putting together these videos covering Brightline and SunRail. One of the frustrations for me as a retired transit worker from DC to being a resident of Orlando the last four years is no weekend and holiday service. Hoping one day soon that will change.
It's nice to see you covering another rail line. Nice job as always. I love the Deland Station. And I like that they kept it's old fashioned charm too. When you were using the drone above the DeBary Station, it looked like a model layout. Great aerial shots and great narration as always!
Excellent video, as usual. Thanks from Gainescville, FL where I can only dream of rail along the greater I-75 corridor up out of Orlando or Tampa, through Ocala/Gainesville toward Georgia!??
What can I say, another great video AND a partnership with Herzog too! How long do they estimate the construction will take before revenue service can begin?
It will be very interesting to see this line come to life with more commuter rail. I can only hope that these new rail lines are prosperous and pave the way forward for more rail in central Florida. If I may ask, who owns this right of way now? Is it still CSX?
9:55 Could you give us some information of this railroad, maybe a Wikipedia link? It ends after only a few miles in the city of DeLand! Has it been once longer? Thank you!
You mentioned that the second rail at the last station mentioned, would go a half-mile(?) beyond the station and dead end; are they not going to connect it to the current single track or are there plans to extend that new track further?
This is fantastic news! It looks like the felled trees are laid out neatly in the recently-cleared area in DeLand. Any idea of their species and eventual disposition? I hope the timber will be used and not end up in a landfill.
@@RoamingRailfan I hope that will be the case. Seems likely from the pic. Up until a few years ago we had a pine tree tract in Casselberry that I assume gave a tax benefit until it was eventually sold for an apartment complex. The news of the DeLand expansion hits home b/c on the first day of ridership on Sunrail (which was free) in 2014 I rode with my dad and we noticed the Google Maps car in the pic. Turns out we have a pic of the Google car from the train as well as the Google car's view of the train. Thank you Internet!

Florida’s Rail Business Is Booming
I hope this channel gets big enough to have multiple sub-channels across the country filming. This stuff is awesome
Let’s go, brand new content. 🎉
Interesting. Look forward to seeing your coverage of the Sunshine Corridor with both Sunrail and Brightline.
Fantastic video! Your coverage of the Sunrail extension is every bit as good as your coverage of Brightline! Keep it coming!

Thanks for being so passionate with your content.
Glad to see you're picking up the SunRail expansion. looks great in 4K.

Always good to see and learn about a rail system.
I sure do like seeing new rails.

New project to look forward to. Nice!

It is awesome to see this happening
Very cool. It must be really exciting to see all of this construction going on as a railfan.
Glad you’re doing this- this is such a great channel and I’m looking forward to more!

Holy shit it's actually happening
Welcome back. I looked forward to your informative and entertaining videos.
I still have plenty of Brightline videos to come too!
great narration. Objective. Stuck to the facts.
Another great video Austin! Thank you for the in depth coverage of another project going on in Florida! Congratulations on the partnership well!
How great to hear of your new project!! Your videos are always fascinating!!
What can I say, another great video AND a partnership with Herzog too! How long do they estimate the construction will take before revenue service can begin?
About a year
Great to see that you have another rail construction project it film and give updates for. Keep up the great work!! 🚂🚃🚃🏝

If I may ask, who owns this right of way now? Is it still CSX?
Sunrail owns it
with the quality of your work and the information you put out i hope more RR reach out to you
Congrats, I’ve been watching your videos since last year
Thanks for the addition!
One correction, the Orlando Amtrak/Sunrail station has an island platform

You mentioned that the second rail at the last station mentioned, would go a half-mile(?) beyond the station and dead end; are they not going to connect it to the current single track or are there plans to extend that new track further?
It’s just going to dead end just past the station, just enough room to potentially layover a train if needed
This is fantastic news! It looks like the felled trees are laid out neatly in the recently-cleared area in DeLand. Any idea of their species and eventual disposition? I hope the timber will be used and not end up in a landfill.
More than likely pine trees that will be picked up by a logging company.

Lots of work to do......
Which RR owns this trackage?
Sunrail owns it
Was this track owned by another railroad at one time?
CSX
