Wanted to say a huge "THANK YOU" for this video - it distilled hours of search and trial/error down to something that I can see will work reliably. Thank you for the links and for walking through the entire tag writing process.
Seriously, thank you for making this video. I bought one of these (I'm in an introduction to software development class and am just very interested in nfcs) and you did so much of the discovery process for me.
Correct, in the NFC Tools app there is an option to lock it via password, and also unlock it via password. Unlocking it allows the ability to write again
Hello, great video! So lets assume I stored my name as "text" on the NFC tag/card, is it possible for me to display it on a text editor on my computer? Let's assume I have a microsoft word document open on my computer and the cursor is inside the file, if I scan the card, will the name I stored on the card display (or pasted) on the microsoft document?
Can the reader carry out actions on the pc its plugged into? I want the tag to have s youtube link and when scanned it opens up the link on the pc. Possible?
Thank you! I'm trying to help a adult with CP to be able to use Alexa routines. I've gotten NFC tags and programmed them. Problem is my friends movements are so jerky he can't use a smart phone, so I was looking at that reader hoping he could scan the tags I made with it. But it doesn't look like that's what it does. ( Alexa or I can't understand what he says, as his voice is also very jerky) I really want to give him the ability to play any music he wants or ask Alexa to tell him a joke. Things we all take for granted. I think NFC is the answer but need to find a simple reader that just taping the tag will do the action.
Hey thanks! I just purchased two of those and two of the Bluetooth version, as well as a whole bunch of key fobs. I intend to use this system to time an upcoming race. I’m wondering if there is a way to make it so when a runner taps their NFC tag, a value (time) populates into a spreadsheet? Do you know how I can do this? I’d be interested in chatting more.
It really surprises me that NFC hasn't become a thing in both laptops and desktops for bluetooth pairing. Ear buds and headsets are exceptionally popular - but it would make so much sense for them to contain an NFC chip that when scanned by a device pairs them instantly over bluetooth... it would make pairing and swapping between devices so much simpler. The same could be done with other bluetooth devices like wireless gamepads - allowing you to use your favourite controller for multiple devices. And NFC would be great for setting up wireless file transfers between a phone and laptop. Its a criminally underutilised technology.
Thank you for the video. If I understand correctly, the password does not actually make the card read-only, and it can still be formatted and rewritten even by phone apps. Is that correct?
Thank you so much for the clear instructions. I have followed them on point, but I can't get my iPhone to connect with my tags. The card reader and software indicate that the code is programmed, and I’ve checked the mentioned errors like spacing/http without success. I’ve also tried copying the links directly to social media without success. Do you have any additional tips for troubleshooting?
Hi Tyler, I operate a large-format printer ''Oce Arizona'' the inks come with NFC tags which are stuck to the machine, they are set with a use-by date and the machine will not work if the ink is out of date even though the ink is still good. I can buy replacement tags from a third-party ink supplier @ 40 bucks a tag, they will also tell the machine that the ink is empty sometimes even though they may be still half-full, what type of data is on these tags and can I write a new one, I presume it is possible as the tags I get are just blank white tags with the date and color handwritten with a pen.

Hello! I am not sure there is an easy way to do this. You could potentially use zapier to automate something so "if tapped then send email", but again, that could be faked by just sending an email. There is no way to my knowledge to make it secure or unique enough to track hours or security checkins that could not be duplicated without the NFC tag

The reason I ask I would want to program it to add a credit on an arcade cabinet for the kids to save them smashing up the coin mechanism. In the arcade software pressing 5 on the keyboard adds a credit so if I programmed it to type 5 would that work?
You can program generic text or a phone number, however I am not sure your machine would understand the text prompt, there is not technically a field for just a raw number. I would say this is a 50/50 chance it would work
To be honest I am not sure if you can add the data to excel, sounds like it is possible though if excel can import data from outside sources. Sorry I am of no help on this topic!
Hey man, do you know what's the process to clone a card? I have an AccessPRO card that I use for opening the garage in my condo building but I want to make a copy of the card that I already have with some spare ones that came with the NFC Reader/Writer.
Tomomi San 0 seconds ago Purchase a "Handheld RFID ID Card Copier Key Reader Writer Duplicator" with the compatible frequency for the card that you want to clone. See my response to Stellar.
Big thanks for making this video - very helpful. If I wanted to add a linktree along with a static piece of text could I achieve that using this device?
Yes it’s technically possible however it will not read natively on a smartphones. A smartphone can only accept one item, it will not know what to do with two items and therefore not work. Put that line of text within your Linktree page to make it work
Hello, your video is really helpful. Please, help me with this: Does this NFC device read card data / payment data from phone? It's like we make payment by tapping our phones on POS, and the POS read payment info from phone. So many thanks!
Hi I wanna make such system at my work place for attendance of our employees. How can I make it that when they scan the card in the machine their date and time is recorded in the system
I purchased the same card reader as you and the cards that come with the reader will work correctly on the reader, but wont scan on my iphone? Any ideas?
Yes, the cards that come with the reader are mifare which do not work with smartphones. Only NTAG 213, 215, 216 will work with smartphones. You will have to purchase a different type of card. I believe the ones that come with it are meant for door access
Is it possible to program the NFC tag to play a video when scanned? As in a video file and not a video from UA-cam? And do you know any stores that sell the NFC Tag Reader for the computer? (This is for a University project btw)
Hey buddy, can you tell me how I could copy a tag in this software? I already have it saved with some information and just want to copy it to memory or somewhere and then duplicate it. Is it possible? Thanks!
Hello, when you select to read the tag, there will be a bunch of info that appears about the tag. When this happens a save icon also appears so you can save the info. You can also copy/paste or screenshot if you needed. All 3 methods will work
Can you use this to write RFID car wash cards. Essentially I pay for a 1 year subscription to a carwash. my brother and I use it both but it is quite annoying to drop of the card each time one of us wants to use it. is there a way to copy my card into a second card using this so I don't need to drop off my card everytime?
Hello, I would recommend downloading the free iPhone app called NFC Tools and testing from there, I do not know the exact answer to your question but I am sure it is possible
Hi, this is Juanma From Perú. I have a question, I did all the whole process but my Iphone 14 doesnt ready the NFC card. I tried with a Android cellphone and the card works. Could you help me please? Thank your so much for your time!
Will this reader work on android mobile that doesn't have NFC? I mean, my android phone doesn't have NFC, so will this work? Can I write using my mobile? Please make a video on this.
Hello I also bought the device but it does not work for me. I always get this error message "This tag is empty or the phone is not aligned correctly". What is the reason for this error? I have a Huawei P30 Pro
Yes I made a video about that here taptag.shop/pages/how-to-program Desktop is good for programming in bulk or if you have to copy info from another window regularly
@@sa8lvi Its 95% exactly the same as the phone. I believe there are a select few super advanced settings that the phone app does not have, and probably nobody has used. . But you are right, almost exactly the same, and the phone is preferred in many ways. I personally have to program 100's of tags on a daily basis based off info from websites, emails, texts, etc. It just easier for me to copy from one monitor and paste to the other rather than switchings screens on my iPhone constantly There is ZERO info about this reader/writer online so I wanted to create the first documentation on how to use it for those in similar situations :)
The regular url/uri adds automatically. Custom does not. It’s best to copy/paste the link so it’s better to not have included or else it will double up and cause an error
@@ThatDroneGuyTy Thank you so much for the reply. I have one more doubt: does this machine only have a card writing option? After writing data to a card, if I don't have any NFC-enabled mobile phones nearby to read that data, the only way I found to read it is by copying and pasting the link we get in a browser by clicking the three dots in the Record section of the information field. Hello, I am trying to figure out the differences between RFID chips. Along with the NFC Reader/Writer, 5 hard plastic cards came in the package as well. I was able to write these cards super easy but neither an iPhone or an Android was able to read the device and recongise as easy as shown in the video. Is there any specific tag I should buy In order to recognize a Link as shown in the video?
Hello! iPhones ONLY understand a website link and androids ONLY understand website link, wifi, and contact. I made a helpful video about how to program here ua-cam.com/video/D3EidkvzCyg/v-deo.html. The cards you have will work, but if you are one character off, forgot , or used a field that does not work as I mentioned on the first sentence, then it will not work at all. It has to be the perfect storm to work natively with smartphones. Also be sure NFC in on for android, and that you have an iPhone XR or newer
@@ThatDroneGuyTy i have same issue. I double checked the strings of url, i checked is there a space or somthing but everything is correct. But i can only write data on chips but iphone not seeing them. I try iphone 6, 7 ,8 ,11, 12 and some android phones. I don't know why it doesn't work ?
@@Ayzekbk you are doing only one single URL right? Because it will not work if you have multiple URL’s or multiple items. Just one will work with iPhones and android
Impressive! I'm wondering since mobile phone could be triggered to get a notification when the tag approaching, could laptops have the same behavior? that means when a tag triggers the NFC reader/writer (or other tag signal receiver you will recommend?), the URL will immediately used to open a browser page to show the content of that URL.
I don't think that will work, it might, idk. iPhones have the convenient "shortcuts" app to easily program your smartphone to react to a tag. Computers don't have that so it could be possible with a third party program but not native to the computer

You can program generic text or a phone number, however I am not sure your machine would understand the text prompt, there is not technically a field for just a raw number. I would say this is a 50/50 chance it would work
on my phone if i read a nfc tag with more websites then one it shows me a list of them and i can choose one.
Androids can do this, but iPhones do not. It will not work at all on iPhones if multiple items are loaded
Ok, thanks. Sometimes i wonder why so much people have iphones...
in android we have to turn on nfc option from settings can we turn it on by a tag automatically
Yes, you have to turn on NFC. this is one of my major frustrations when i tried to use nfc tags at a convention. Absolutely nobody has the NFC on.
if I use this to write an amiibo, what type of record would it be?
Can i use it to input the UUID code of rfid on an input text on my crm? thank you! :)
I am not sure to be honest, I would think a gate or barge card would have an added level of security that only a manufacturer could do

Purchase a "Handheld RFID ID Card Copier Key Reader Writer Duplicator" with the compatible frequency for the card that you want to clone. See my response to Stellar.
Does it read cards when not connected to the computer?; I need it to be used as a punch card
It does not read data from phones, only NFC chips
Hi I wanna make such system at my work place for attendance of our employees. How can I make it that when they scan the card in the machine their date and time is recorded in the system
I purchased the same card reader as you and the cards that come with the reader will work correctly on the reader, but wont scan on my iphone? Any ideas?
Yes, the cards that come with the reader are mifare which do not work with smartphones. Only NTAG 213, 215, 216 will work with smartphones. You will have to purchase a different type of card.
I believe the ones that come with it are meant for door access
@@ThatDroneGuyTy I will do that! Thank you very much
@@ThatDroneGuyTy mifares work just fine on phones, as long as they have an NXP chipset on them. Which is the grand majority of them.
Is it possible to program the NFC tag to play a video when scanned? As in a video file and not a video from UA-cam? And do you know any stores that sell the NFC Tag Reader for the computer? (This is for a University project btw)
You can’t store a whole video file in an NFC card. They don’t hold that much data.
Does this read and write tag for apartment access?
No it does not, mostly for writing non-secure nfc cards
I am able to write the tag but how to i get the reader connected to my laptop to read the tag and have the url pop open on a browser?
Hello, smartphones cannot read this type of tag natively, only with an app. Smartphones can only read NTAGS
Hello , i bought it for a school projekt /f1inschools) i wanted to put links on it my iphone doesnt read ist can you help ?
Hi, this is Juanma From Perú. I have a question, I did all the whole process but my Iphone 14 doesnt ready the NFC card. I tried with a Android cellphone and the card works. Could you help me please? Thank your so much for your time!
Hello, make sure you used only the custom url option. Not the contact option. Also ensure that you add to the link
how to read it using nodejs ? are there documents for the api ?
What's that i AM doing wrong ? I try to write the card but it do not blink up the write Botton , to finis proceso , thanks
Will this reader work on android mobile that doesn't have NFC?
I mean, my android phone doesn't have NFC, so will this work? Can I write using my mobile?
Please make a video on this.
This item is meant to program nfc cards or nfc tags. It will successfully program them but you will not be able to scan with your android
Can you hard reset the reader? The light doesn’t turn on and I think something went wrong
Hello
I also bought the device but it does not work for me.
I always get this error message "This tag is empty or the phone is not aligned correctly".
What is the reason for this error?
I have a Huawei P30 Pro
I would recommend trying to program NTAG213, 215, or 216 which is what I used in the video
can you try it in the notepad
Can you integrate this with ServiceNow or Google Drive?
I do not believe this is possible
You can also write and read with a phone app. Is it the same?
Yes I made a video about that here taptag.shop/pages/how-to-program
Desktop is good for programming in bulk or if you have to copy info from another window regularly
Wrong link! Here you go ua-cam.com/video/D3EidkvzCyg/v-deo.html
Thx!!! Well but it can do the same in a more bothersome way? Or are there real things that are impossible to do with a phone?
@@sa8lvi Its 95% exactly the same as the phone. I believe there are a select few super advanced settings that the phone app does not have, and probably nobody has used. . But you are right, almost exactly the same, and the phone is preferred in many ways. I personally have to program 100's of tags on a daily basis based off info from websites, emails, texts, etc. It just easier for me to copy from one monitor and paste to the other rather than switchings screens on my iPhone constantly
There is ZERO info about this reader/writer online so I wanted to create the first documentation on how to use it for those in similar situations :)
Thanks alot for your great answer!
Whats the difference between 'URL/URI' option and 'Custom URL/URI' option
The regular url/uri adds automatically. Custom does not. It’s best to copy/paste the link so it’s better to not have included or else it will double up and cause an error
@@ThatDroneGuyTy Thank you so much for the reply. I have one more doubt: does this machine only have a card writing option? After writing data to a card, if I don't have any NFC-enabled mobile phones nearby to read that data, the only way I found to read it is by copying and pasting the link we get in a browser by clicking the three dots in the Record section of the information field. Is there any other way to read data easily with this device?
@@ytcvideo140 in the computer app there is a “Read” option. If you select it and simply put the card on the device it will show you the cards contents. From there you can copy/paste into a browser to check
@@ThatDroneGuyTy Thank you.
Can I use this to write ntag215? I have a bunch of ntag215 here..
Yes it can write on any NTAG including 215
@@ThatDroneGuyTy thank yoou 🥰
I have broken card for ev cars AC charging , can I write new one? The card has numbers
I apologize, I am not familiar with EV card tech, I imagine there is. level of security so it may not be possible
Does it work with 3ds?
Thankyou for the video. I've installed the software for Windows version, but why the language can't detected? I mean its not English language or anything. is it error??
Can you perhaps change the language in settings? I have never heard of this error
Thanks for the great video. Is it possible to use the "Text" option? When i enter a text and write that to a tag, is says that it's on the tag and in the read option i see the text but the iPhone don't show the text. Am i doing something wrong of is it not possible?
Hello, iPhones ONLY accept a url link and nothing else. If you have android they will accept url, Wi-Fi, location, and text
Does that reader can read/copy ntag216? Thank you.
Hello! Yes it does :)

Hey man. I’m using the same white NFC scanner. However, now I have a major issue whereby whenever I scan the card, the PC starts to freeze/hang for a good 2 mins. How can I overcome this? Thanks
Super sorry to hear that, I have no clue how to fix that and I have never encountered that issue. Super sorry. Most smartphones are capable of the same thing, you an watch my other video about how to program using your phone ua-cam.com/video/D3EidkvzCyg/v-deo.html
Hello , firstly thanks for the video. I've the same device but when i write a link to an nfc card by NFC Tools App it's only working on android smart phones , doesn't work on ios. How can i fix it ? (I use windows)
