Rotary shift dial, at first I groaned out loud, after driving for 10 minutes, I was sold on the rotary shift dial! Great car, I purchased my 2020 in 2022 and super excited! It parks itself....yup!
@@pulkpullrevolving It was the stupidest reason really. There was a hole in the headliner. Took it to the dealer to have it repaired, when they installed the new one they not only tore it but scratched the dash. So when they replaced the dash and headliner again they wired something wrong in the dash causing a short. This qualified the vehicle for our lemon law and Ford had to buy it back. This went on for a span of 4 months. I was sick of being in a rental all the time and just having one headache after another.
I love my Ford Escape, 2020!!! Hubby and i Traded in our Range Rover and Kia Forte and man did I upgrade! We parked right next to a Porsche and they looked identical. I’m blown away with it! It’s like driving a spaceship! 😍
BUILT DIESEL MAFIA The escape has been my favorite looking crossover from Ford, it actually stood out from the competition. That new one looks exactly like all the competitors. I don’t think it’s ugly, but will blend in much more.
Arthur Dortmans Just looked up the “Kuga,” that thing looks much more appealing. US customers should be able to spec body color siding, looks much sleeker. Honestly makes me appreciate the body of them both. This car is growing on me more and more even if it’s not a masculine design like prior model.
I own a 2016 Ford Escape and I’m glad that they’re still making the Escape, in general. I like all generations of the Escape, including my third gen Escape, and this new one.
I went and bought one. I’ve always had a Ford Ranger but with the tow hitch it eliminates the hauling issue. It handles snow and ice like it isn’t even there. I hate the auto start/stop but having lived in LA I could appreciate it when you sit 20 minutes before moving 10 feet. Get the pano moon roof. It’s one of my favorite things.
Thanks for the detailed video for the 2020 Escape. I currently own a black 2017 titanium Awd with a 2.0 EcoBoost. I really enjoy my Escape. Solid Ride and drives like a car. I'm considering the Titanium Awd 2.0, so I'm waiting for inventory to test drive and review the vehicle front to back. I really like the new design and the body lines. Interior looks great. Fantastic technology infotainment ceñter. I like yourself am puzzled with the strange interior door designs and why a hood prop rod on a newly-designed vehicle. I've looked at Hood props for other vehicles and found them inexpensive and easy to install so Ford should just step up and put the props on this vehicle and dump the rod. So if in person, the vehicle drives as good as it looks on your video and my trade in for my 2017 is inline. I'll likely pull the trigger. My initial issue is being a new car I'm sure Ford will not be offering rebates or discounts for several months. So I may wait a bit before those discounts and rebates become available, and of course the new MSRP for the Titanium with the equipment I'm looking for likely making those discounts and rebates even more important. Either way thanks for the great informative video and I'm sure at some point I'll be driving one of those new 2020 Escapes Titanium's Awd home.
It's a European Kuga. The first generation had a sporty look, then they decided to sell it in the US, so they made it look visually bigger , more like an American SUV. Now they went back to the sporty look, to compete against the Mazda CX-5 and the likes. You'll get the baby Bronco, if you want an American style small SUV.
e s It’s not just Ford and Volkswagen. Every single manufacturer does this and has for many, many decades. This has literally been a common practice since the 1940s and I don’t understand why you even bring it up.
@Rydge Villa This isn't a US designed car, nor was the previous one, it is a German designed and engineered product based on the excellent Ford Focus. The Escape is called the Ford Kuga in Europe but it is 99.5% the same model as we get here called the Escape.
I have the 2017 Ford Escape and I love the way it looks on the outside. Ford has said they were going for a Porsche type styling however, I think it came out looking like a KIA. Also, do people who buy Fords want this type of styling. Fords have always had a certain appeal to a certain type of person, so I'm not sure if trying to appeal to different type of people is a good move. Time will tell, but for me, I'll sick with my 2017 Escape.
Everyone's hating on the new design but I like it. The outgoing generation looked so dated. It needed a major redesign. All the other competing S.U.V's already did while the Escape was fully redesigned way back in 2012. I will admit just like many others that it does kind of look like a Kia, specifically the Sportage, but for the most part it also looks like a Porsche Macan. I think that's a good thing to have a mostly German luxury S.U.V. based design. It's just too bad we can't have the identical all new Focus to go with it. That was a decent seller and would've generated more sales with the all new redesign.
@CJ Hotwheels Exactly. The new model which is now on sale in Europe but we don't get it in the USA and Canada is a great car probably one of the best in its class, you have your choice of manual transmission, or a traditional geared slushbox, or the WET clutch DCT which is NOT the same piece of crap that was offered in the USA (dry clutch DCT) which was nothing but problems. The dry clutch powershift was NEVER offered in Europe and the wet clutch Powershift was very reliable.
I watch a lot of auto videos, and you do a great job, thanks! I’m hoping Ford will update those door panels. I think I get what they were going for but the star shape isn’t working for me. Either smooth it all out or figure out a design that looks less chintzy.
I bought this exact model car on 7/3. Mine is even black. Already realizing I need to.put up that sunshade when I go in a store. I love this car. It is awesome. The seats have been upgraded from the 2018 Escape Titanium I traded in. The dash is way more user friendly too.

It is a cross over. It has the same ground clearance, but the roof is lower. It will have a lower center of gravity and better handling , that's what most people want, 99% of customers won't take it off road anyway, you'll get the baby Bronco for that.
