- Sky News host Liz Storer says the Australian Defence Force is “not recruiting” people at the rate that the people are leaving.
The ADF is set to lower fitness and health standards in order to boost recruitment.
Ms Storer said the targets are 80,000 and we’re currently sitting on just 57,000.
“These guys have decided if we just drop the fitness requirements, maybe more kids will get on board.
“So great, now we just get less fit people in the armed forces.”
No one wants to fight for thw corrupt politicians.

Here in America they have lowered the standards so much that they can be a former felon, be overweight and they don’t train you to survive anymore because the basic training here is a complete and udder joke.
You raise the pay and signing bonus of recruits; don't lower the standards.

The ADF Recruitment Department should get in contact with their counterparts in Russia to find out how to run a successful recruitment campaign. The Russian Armed Services are signing more than 42,000 contracts a month without having to lower fitness and health standards.

As a Russian watching this I'll tell you the secret. All males when they hit 18 are OBLIGATED to go through the army training for years (unless they go to uni or are severely disabled). Trying to get out of it is against the law.

Its not so much the fitness its also the psychologist. My daughter tried to join, she passed all the test but the psychologist told her she needs to socialise more. Not easy when living in the bush.

My son was told the same thing. You need to socialize more. This generation all on their screens all day don't have the social skills to meet the requirements to sign up.
Best thing for her was to be refused entry. She may not see it that way now but she will in time.
I’d argue what they actually need to lower is the psychological standards. Seriously, the list of reasons to find a candidate unsuitable is staggeringly long, and often nonsensical, and they’re supposed to be assessed by a psychologist with, at best, a graduate diploma and no clinical experience.
Especially during Covid when many people developed mental illness. Even if u had it 10 years ago, they wouldn’t let you in it’s ridiculous
The ADF has Psychologists who are under all manner of trouble with numerous complaints about their own mental health.
When do the recruits get trans bedtime story nights and their shiny pink boots.
Should make it compulsory for all queers, trans and non binarys to sign up.. they all go back to hiding in their closets again 😂

Every Western Country is in the same situation. The Standards have dropped just as in the POLICE and TEACHING.
first, australian citizens feels less threatened compare to its south east asian neighbors, second, joining the military in australia is not beneficial enough compare to other jobs in australia, and 3rd corrupt government decreases morale. first rule of recruitment is to have a good reason why are you recruiting, offer more benefits as possible, example, in indonesia, thailand and philippines, pays and benefits in military offers 3 to 5x the amount of the AVERAGE jobs in their respective countries. and 3rd AUSTRALIA should not train their regular soldiers like NATO and American do theirs, instead, let the SPECIAL FORCES be train like NATO and AMERICANS, and regular australian soldiers should be train in australian way

I don't know how many times i have read of people being refused entry, just because some fat , run down , judgemental, psychologist , took a dislike to an applicant ir didn't like an applicants answers, to questions .

Yes there were fitness and health standards in ww1.......they were relaxed slightly over time for obvious reasons
lowering the fitness test isn't actually that big of a deal, if gets more people in the door that's good. But once they are in there trust me they will be brought up to speed
The ADF has drones and are actively getting better drones, mortars are actively learning how to use them to the highest ability. IDK where this has come from but working alongside mortars they are very capable.

It is the consistent political inflammatory degrading slander of Australia that has led to all this. It's like saying that the french took claim for German property and lied about where they were by taking credit for colonization work and records. Regarding North East of USA and Ontario (for example). ADI can't produce SS109 ammunition for the plastic fantastic, so it is all purchased from the US. Why not make ADI work out how to get the stainless steel penetrator central in the projectile, or just buy the projectiles from someone who can. Fitness standards were pretty tough in my day and we even had instructions on what PT we should carry out in our slit trenches to keep our fitness levels up to the standard, such a loving, caring parent in those days.

I was going to write that I always thought I'd defend the country which I was born in, because of the eucalypts and marsupials and I was born in this place on Planet Earth and there is a wide range of climate, and I have six generations of ancestors before me ... but there was no Australia when my Great Great Great Grand Mother was born in 1829, and the gum trees and the kangaroos and the climate from Darwin to Hobart have been around much longer than Darwin or Hobart or Australia has. I love the island continent I was born on, but as for the country, the corruption and cruelty and criminals with white shirts and neck ties? Like yeah britain has a hard time recruiting military aswell in order to defend the way of life. Many flaws in the way of life is difficult for people to want to make the decision to defend the country. For many males, they don't go into defence of the nation because they don't have good memories of the nation would like to see a new nation rise in its place and that nation would be something they would militarize for. Its unusual for history. though if we are going back to 1800s there wasn't even major roads. Someone might call it united kingdom say they had an outpost in scotland. and an outpost in wales. and a route to get there. To put the big hat on. and all that. Make a painting.
But the actual claim of unification for the way of life was always just a bit of rhetoric.
We know this as fact as the Scot party, and the Irish party never even attempt to expand voting base territory into england. And they are always all about independence at somewhere down the line in the party. So they don't act like aggressive monopoly parties like Labor and Con. they act in a diff way that keeps a territory, and advocates for its independence. Those the aforementioned outposts, and the rhetoric is generally not even accepted by the folk live local to the outposts.
