The secret service was humiliated following their incompetent response to the shooting, with very serious questions now being asked of what should be, the most elite security organisation in the world.

1) Additional protection was denied. 2) the rooftops were uncontested. 3) Eye witnesses gave preemptive warning before the authorities acknowledged it 4) The service didn't react until after the fact. that 4 failures. This doesn't even touch the after the fact training issues, or the hiding issues.

While in the USAF military police (called SPs then, now Security Forces) back in the mid-70s, I took part in 2 presidential visits. In meetings with the Secret Service beforehand, all involved (USAF security personnel and civilian police) were briefed that if anyone saw anything resembling a firearm and they were not part of the Secret Service or the security detail, to radio in the code word 'GUN'. Everyone involved, including corridor guards, knew that 'GUN' mentioned even one time by ANYONE, the shit would hit the fan and the president at the time (Jimmy Carter) would be hustled away immediately. This same briefing was exactly the same for both visits about one year apart.
Do they not brief this anymore??? WTF??? Why didn't the police immediately do this on the radio IMMEDIATELY upon ANYONE mentioning a man with a rifle on a rooftop - whether they could see him or not??? Back then, the Secret Service Operations Center onsite was monitoring all the radios. I'm at a total loss how this was allowed to happen???

Hey Bro, from an Aussie, our Country was blooded in few Wars like the Boer, the Sikh Uprising, etc, but when WW1 happened we had an alliance called ANZUS, Which was "Australian New Zealand & United States. And we have fought together ever since, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam, Gulf War/Iraq, Afghanistan and I know we have also done a number of Covert Fighting in various African Countrys, Sth American, and Serbia plus wherever our leaders wanted our AUST SAS & Special Forces / Commandos to go to support our American Seals, Green Berets, Special Forces and Delta, we Aussies have an affinity with Americans that is as strong as today as it was back in the horrible gas filled muddy trenches of WW1. I Would like to think we will allways have each other's backs, Aussies have been known to punch above our weight in wars & fighting, BUT we are only a small Country Population wise, and we have tens of thousands of miles of Coastline that we could never protect, plus because we have so much land and an over abundance of Natural resources, we are the CHERRY on the Top of the Cake, that CHINA has allways wanted, and without our Big Brother America, we would be allready I'd say living under harsh Chinese rule, with probably 500 million Han Chinese bought into our Country and take our houses, cars, basically everything , as they are nothing like us from the West, if they ever beat any of our Western Countrys, they would never leave and rape our Countrys untill nothing remained. I work in Close Protection in the private industry. We work with so much restrictions and lack of resources sometimes. Secret service has no excuse for Overlooking that building.

The local police said they were warned about a suspicious person and were trying to find him, they were told by several people where he was. Should not have been hard. Why did they not respond? Someone is either incompetent or part of the plan, possibly both. This man used a ladder to climb a building with a rifle on his back and not a single officer or Secret Secret agent saw this? Why did the sniper wait to fire? He clearly had the shooter in his sights. The female Secret Service agents were terrible to say the least. Who thought female agents who are considerable shorter than Trump could protect him. The looked and acted incompetent, (I think not being able to holster your weapon and yelling "what do we do?'" qualifies") at least the head of the Secret Service is fulfilling her DEI hiring promises.

I agree. I’m 5’4” and fairly strong, FOR A WOMAN. How on earth could I guard and or attempt to carry a man almost a foot taller than me, even if I had the strength, the physics and leverage to carry someone longer than yourself is a struggle for anyone.
I’ve also worn tactical pants at a job before. The waist band on a female (most females) is so high to keep them up on our hips and her holster is high because of it, we have a shorter waist generally speaking, she had no range of motion in her shoulder with that jacket and she couldn’t even find where her holster was. They looked panicked and completely dumbfounded. I’m embarrassed for them. Women can do so many jobs and yes, some are very strong and a rush of adrenalin can to amazing things, but let’s get back in touch with reality again! There is a time and place for female protection officers, guarding a woman perhaps, sometimes women blend in better in certain ways, but in general to guard a former president that’s 6’3” non the less? What were one of them going to do if an average sized man needed to be tackled or carried. Ridiculous!!!
5’4 women acting as bodyguards for 6’2 Trump looked like a panicked clown show. All I saw was a bunch of ponytails looking for direction, unable to holster their weapons, inadequate strength ratio to support and carry Trump to safety thus exposing him to more danger, etc. Women need to know their limits! We need big, strong men to do the job. There are just some things that women can’t physically do. We need strong men!
This wasn't a Secret Service "failure". This all happened by design and all you need to do to understand it is see who's currently overseeing the Secret Service and their ideas (like having 30% female hires for "better equity"). They wanted him gone, but unfortunately for them their patsy missed.

I’m not sexist and I’m a firm believer in equality but there are just some jobs that are suited more for a particular sex. The reality is, guarding a president is a job more suited to men. A job as important as this, it transcends equality standards, this is bigger than that. It’s about protecting one of the most important people on the planet and there’s nothing sexist about using only men for this particular detail. I think some people need to be open minded and understand this.
