BMW has been updating various models this year, and now it's introducing the 2025 X3 in two trims, featuring new hybrid powertrains, the latest infotainment system, and a refreshed exterior design. The new X3 will be available in the United States later this year.
The two trims are the entry-level X3 30 xDrive and the top-spec X3 M50 xDrive. The X3 30 xDrive has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, producing 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The X3 M50 xDrive features an electrified 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, generating 393 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. Both trims come with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
The new X3 has a larger exterior compared to its predecessor, with a design that includes bigger kidney grilles and new LED headlights. The base model has 19-inch alloy wheels, while the M50 trim features 20-inch wheels and additional sporty elements.
Inside, the X3 is equipped with BMW's iDrive 9 infotainment system and a curved display. It offers 31.5 cubic feet of cargo space, expandable to 67.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The vehicle can tow up to 4,850 pounds with an optional trailer hitch.
The entry-level X3 30 xDrive starts at $50,675, and the sportier X3 M50 xDrive starts at $65,275. BMW will manufacture the 2025 X3 at its Spartanburg, South Carolina plant, and it will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2024.
