Substitute in canned pear halves - slice the pear halves - and use the syrup instead of 1 cup of milk + sugar and the result is a lovely winter-type of baked oatmeal.

If you want more volume for cream cheese topping, I like to add a few tablespoons of milk to the cream cheese, then microwave it, mix it and it comes out as a very thick yet now more liquidy and manageable topping. Also for people with different portions/ovens/baking pans etc. The internal temperature of doneness is 202F - 206F. Also if you havent tried yet, add some cinnamon, tastes great, especially with the peach.
PS: Josh, for the baked goods can you please mention internal temp?

Hey you should know that you can definitely toss a ton more protein powder into these. If it's sweetened, you don't even really need to use maple syrup! I've been making them lately with:
    150g vanilla whey protein
480g high protein almond milk (I also highly recommend trying out hazelnut milk for flavour)
500g raspberries (you def can't get away with just tossing them all on top with this much protein btw, make sure to stir most of them in)
5 tsp stevia for the raspberries because the frozen ones tend to be very tart (I also microwave the raspberries for a bit to get that lovely jam like consistency)
    240g oats
    tsp salt
    tsp baking powder
14g oil (not butter because I don't want to dirty a cup melting it)
vanilla, raspberry flavour (both optional but I have them so why not)
I cut it in 12 and the macros for each slice are: 22.3g carbs 4.6g fat 14.7g protein 191 cals

Tip: Definitely microwave the cream cheese as suggested AND try to spread it out as much as you can. It's the bites with cream cheese that make me love this.

  • @raditz9676
    @raditz9676 Рік тому

For the topping (cream cheese) I'd recommend either a reusable pastry bag or a syringe (without the needle), e.g. a 500ML, so one large enough to fill it up with a spoon.
You'll end up using less cream (lower kcal) spreaded out better. Pastry bag is somewhat easier to fill up and has fancy heads, syringe however is much easier and cleaner to use.
Thanks for sharing all these btw, you're an inspiration! Keep it up! ;)

This video came in CLUTCH! I was just starting to hate the blueberry lemon; it being one of the two that I had currently favored alongside the chocolate chip banana. They were my two favs to work with since the apple/cinnamon one was just a bit too 'dessert-y' for my liking with all the sweetness it has. Never been a fan or just eating peaches, so I hope this way helps it bypass in my brain. Will return with the verdict if I remember to.

Sadly, it just seems that peaches are not meant for me. Tried them, really was hoping to add this to my breakfast lineup, but it wasn't meant for me. The fruit was never something I reached for and now I know why. I just don't like it. Bummer.

I don't know if you've tried it before, Josh, but savory oatmeal recipes are really good too 🤤Fruit and sweet things are to me like vegetables are to you LOL! But plain oatmeal is boring, so i cook it with broth and meats and sometimes make it spicy. Oatmeal is already savory, so savory flavors go with it really well. Some sausage crumbles on some oatmeal cooked with beef broth is really good. Even healthier is if you're just using broth and spices, but not any meat... You could probably even hide veggies in it so you don't have to realize you're eating them LOL!
