    This is low volume? I used to own the s400s and they werent great on low volume, dynamics showed up only at higher volume. This sounds good but can you confirm these perform well low vol (detail still comes through etc)? Thanks, great vids. I wish all the other thousand youtube vids could figure out how to upload good audio quality. This actually shows you the quality of the speakers

      Yup, recorded at night. I had to turn my mic gain to do this. It's even better in real life. I like how it's so well balanced and not like traditional loudness buttons that bloats the bass.

    Thanks for your videos. They are great! Have you had any interference on the WISA hub signal sounding like distortion or crackling? Did you decide on the best means to play them - through the hub or through a dac pre-amp. If the latter, how much are you missing the room correction? Did you ever hear the A500? How would you compare the sound, imaging, sound stage etc? Sorry for all the questions and thanks again for your excellent videos!

      I actually don't use the room correction as it's add too much on the 100hz which likely correct but not my taste. I'm waiting for the custom EQ feature. Mads said it's coming soon. A good preamp would bring even more sound quality. However, the stereo hub/WISA convenience and good enough DAC is actually already enough for me - for the meantime I get funds for nice preamp :) I have not heard about A500. I presume the difference would be the extra sub-bass down to 15hz (I just measured :) and taller soundstage.

      I do love the Buchardt sound! So much fun to listen to. I found the A500,s drew me in and I enjoyed music like never before. My issue was with the WISA - I had interference occurring on mine. My plan is to wait for the Buchardt pre-amp/streamer to hopefully be released at the end of this year and then purchase the A700’s with it in a bundle. Will be a long year to wait! Thanks again for your videos. I suggest you try Hans Theessink - Feel Like Going Home. Will sound incredible.

    Sounds very pleasant! :) I'm waiting for a couple of A500 myself (deliverydate 4-10 february). I'm also considering the A700 but I think the A500 will be enough for my room.
    I'm wondering about your signal-chain.. Ropieee/RPI4 running Roon-Tidal > S.M.S.L M500 DAC > Platin Stereo Hub.
    Then from what I understand the Platin Stereo Hub converts the analog in signal back to digital (?) to then send to the speakers wirelessly where the speakers internal DAC again converts the digital-signal to analogue? Is it possible to connect the Ropieee/RPI4 to the Stereohub digitally without the DAC inbetween?
    I will myself use Tidal and I'm thinking of the best way to implement it until the Stereo Hub becomes "Tidal Connect"-ready.

      Yes, DACThere's so much options that I'm still in limbo which is best:
      - DAC digital out to Platin Hub
      - DAC rca out to Platin Hub
      - DAC XLR direct to A700 XLR input
      - DAC XLR to MP701mk2 preamp then to A700 XLR input
      Yes, I'm also waiting for Tidal connect support too. I think Mads mentioned it's coming.

    What's the monitor with the album cover? Looks like what I've been looking for. Do you have video covering this?

      That's an 8" Lenovo Smart tab I got last black friday. It's nice since it has docking charger/stand, and you set it to not turn off. I installed Roon controller app in it. So anything I stream via Roon, it is shown there.

    is this like a forced on feature? can it be turned off?

      It's always on below 70db playback, and the effect is smoothly increased as you lower the volume . It's Off at 70db and above.

    Stunning sound...although a video can't quite do it justice.

      I know. I hope to invest more on better microphones. The recording just can't get the micro dynamics, imaging and soundstage.

    Strange version of the song. The original cut from the lp is so much nicer.

    It is still unclear

    • @NoStereoNoLife
      @NoStereoNoLife  3 роки тому +1

      Sound not clear? Yeah, this was recorded at a much lower volume level/SPL compared what I normally use. So definitely sound clarity and dynamics won't be as great. Also, micro details, the imaging and soundstage are bigtime not captured in my recordings.

    Sounds a bit boxy ‘echoey’.

    • @NoStereoNoLife
      @NoStereoNoLife  3 роки тому +2

      Not to me but I'm probably already used to it :) I did try to reduce echo by putting up acoustics panels. I tested by clapping at the speakers and there is definitely echo but not too audible.

      That's the room and because this is low volume demo, the gains are more. You'll notice the floor noise is up compared to his other demos. AKA yea hes probably not hearing much of the room. The mics pickup everything but the human ear makes adjustments for the environment its in. Hearing is far less objective than we might think. Mics prove that. I experience this also in my setup KEF R900 in a carpeted and heavily treated room. Even then with mics, there's some room noise.
      You dont want to over damp the room like I have done, you start to come up on the tradeoff of liveliness vs fast decay/headphone like accuracy. You want the room to contribute just a little, but in as controlled a way as possible. You can fill a room with rockwool, it will measure great and sound dead.

      Ahhhh! I am focussing on the A500 but I probably need to sell a kidney so I can afford the A700 now.
      Anybody interested in a mildly used kidney? No?
      Well....bummer! I guess the A700 has to wait for a while then.
