I have been finding a lot of fish suspended this year… I’m sure it’s because I can finally see those fish with livescope but what a fun bite when they are suspended. Great video again! Most underrated channel out there!
Clayton you are the man! Absolutely! It’s like it opens up a whole new world seeing what’s down there. Appreciate the kind words. We are going to keep grinding!
Well you got me to subscribe. Wish I would have found you sooner. I was stuck watching @ClaytonSchickOutdoors lol. Just kidding he has an awesome channel and so do you. I've learned alot from you guys. Keep up the great content
Another fantastic video TJ. Very enjoyable and informative. And a testament to your character for telling Drew that you were sitting on a big school of fish where most other people would try and keep that info to themselves and hide it from a random passerby.
Really appreciate you saying that! I’ve learned so much from others, it would be selfish to keep it all to myself! Everyone’s fishing to enjoy it and have a good time. Doesn’t need to be cutthroat!
@tjsguideservice yeah once again great video and tight lines this season. Was also out over memorial weekend and did well on some nice slab crappie and gills let them go to spawn. Starting to get real shallow.
Have you ever seen this pattern occur on a river system? I find on the opener where I am the walleye concentrate around the dam but would love to know if it’s worth checking out the same types of scenarios you laid out further down stream. Thanks
Tj, I was on a school this morning that I tried to troll through with a jig and minnow which did not produce. Sat 30ft away from them and pitched a jig and a slip bobber at them. They spooked from the splash. They were in 10 feet of water and were not interested in either. I did not try plastics but what would you recommend? Move on from them and try elsewhere?
TJ, I've just bought an 18' Mirto Craft that was a tiller but I can't decide if I should leave it that way or do a side steer. Your professional, experienced reply is most appreciated.
I have not had any experience switching over something like that. My gut tells me to keep it a tiller since that’s how it was built! Hope that’s helpful and best of luck with the new boat!
Great video TJ! Thanks for the info! Have you used the Berkley finisher at all and would this be a scenario where it would be effective? Suspended and somewhat finicky? I heard Boley make an interesting comment about walleye being as predatory as we make them. Meaning we can force them to react more by being aggressive or using more reactionary baits. Thought?
Appreciate that! I have tried the finisher, and actually even threw it at some fish that same day, but they never even followed. Still not giving up on it thought because I like the concept! I would definitely agree with boley on that! I love working my reaction baits. With big pods like this though, I have better luck with slip bobbers and then it also doesn’t spook the school as much. I use reaction baits more when I’m targeting single fish.
Not a big fan of live scope on videos but you actually show fish and w(ere your bait is also you do a nice job with your chest cam not just video of side of the boat and informative great job
Well glad you enjoyed the livescope overlay! I love watching vids with it because you can learn so much of how these fish act, but it’s tough to get good footage and present it in a way that makes sense!
When they are in schools like that they definitely look like crappies. The main ways I tell the difference is by recognizing the area I’m fishing and then also telling the size of the blobs. It seems that crappies tend to be even tighter in groups than the walleyes are as well
I did! 😂 I had a talking point about it, but took it out because it was getting to be a long video. Still like the TM for calm days, but windy days it’s hard to beat the pole!
@tjsguideservice I had the same problem. I ended up fishing out of the back, I can spot lock upwind of drop-offs when the wind blows into them without driving around. Yes that would be an entire video in itself on the pros and cons of pole vs. TM mounts lol!

You know you're doing something right when Clayton likes your video!
@@erics667 that’s what I’m saying! One of the best to do it!

It was great to meet you out on the water TJ !! It was fun seeing the schools of fish in this video, another great information filled video.
Drew!!! Nice meeting you as well man! Hope to see ya around!

I’m on a week long family fishing at kab and it has been a grind. I’m going to try this tomorrow, thanks!!
You bet! I’ve only fished Kab once a long time ago, but I would also try shallow rocky points and maybe even some shallower humps!
Have been pitching jigs on single walleyes with this same tactic. I have found most of the suspended fish are much more aggressive. Great video
I agree!! Such a cool bite. They tend to be some of the bigger fish as well if they are by themselves

Always appreciate the detail you leave here in these videos!! Good day out there!!
Appreciate you, Craig! It was a great day for a smaller local lake for sure! Hope you’ve been getting out!

We need a tutorial video on the best ways to convince our wife that we need Livescope.
Yess!! 😂 I’ll stick to fishing videos though, because that seems like too tall of a task for me 😉
Great video, as always! How far off the bottom are you letting your jig sit under the slip bobber?
It totally depends how high the fish are. I try to keep a foot or two above the fish
Clay vs Jay vs TJ let’s make it happen!
I don’t think I’m the one that needs to be convinced! 😂 those guys might have bigger fish to fry though!
Always a great informational video! Thanks TJ!❤️🎣
You bet Evan!! Appreciate you!
Much respect for you and your demeanour. Thank you
Appreciate you taking the time to comment! 👊 Treat others how you’d like to be treated and everything is more fun!
Just got one of those reels. Can't wait to try it out!
I’ve been loving mine so far! Just want some different colors now!
I was catching walleyes a few days ago in central Minnesota that were 6 foot off bottom in 15 FOW. Really fun.
Isn’t it awesome? Opens up a whole new world that’s for sure!
Sure does, great video as always. Keep up the great work.
Another banger, bud! Keep em coming!
Thanks, Donny! Hope you’ve been catching some fish! 👊
Great video. How much higher is your bait 2 feet? Which rod are you waiting for looking for a bobber rod.
Thanks, Gord! I would say it’s 1-4ft above the fish. Sometimes right in them. I was out tonight and watched them chase up 8 feet to eat!
O wow got the final stamp of approval from Clayton no way !!!!
Right!? Things are getting real!! 🔥
@@tjsguideservice that’s how you know you been makin good vids o TOLD YOU way back Tj been doing awsome let’s goooo!!!!!

Thanks for the reply TJ! Yeah that makes a lot of sense…. Reactionary baits will often spook other fish.
Thanks for the awesome video
Appreciate the comment! Glad you enjoyed!

Is your bottom fill on?
No it’s not. I never really have bottom fill on.
Here’s a tip, buy a scope and then all you need is a bobber and a leech. Not much else needed to catch walleye anymore.
Thanks for the tip!
I would have thought with that many fish in one spot they would have been crappie. How do you tell the difference?
When they are in schools like that they definitely look like crappies. The main ways I tell the difference is by recognizing the area I’m fishing and then also telling the size of the blobs. It seems that crappies tend to be even tighter in groups than the walleyes are as well
I see you moved the livescope off the trolling motor. 😁

Give the video game to the kids. I'm done
