It's funny how some of the greatest 60's albums were recorded in the 90's.

61 - only caught the bug at 54 -- then POW -- I hadn't been so smitten and full of wonder of any musicians since hearing Neil Young and The Rolling Stones in 1971. . I think that solves Anton's staled goal to be ""Relevant and Part of the music vernacular. "

Well, I don't know what the Rev is talking about. For me, I can't get enough of this band's music. Yeah, I know A. Newcombe is the major (and only constant) force behind it all. Still, he has along noteworthy contributors (Matt Hollywood among others) and fashions a sound and feel like no other. Cooler than most. Better than most. Just does what he wants and his fans, like me, LOVE it!

    DIG!
Not knowing anything about these guys, I was unable to know when they were.
60's, 70's? What?!? 90's, with a Tam Man on stage?
I had to know the gig, wtf was with this dude Anton Newcombe.
Then I got it, like the Grateful Dead.
The music fits in a groove, it's not like anything else made in 3 decades, maybe the Cowboy Junkies. This is much more primal.
Weighty, Heavy. Like a predator hunting you down. When it catches you, you stay caught and forever comparing other artists' works to this.

***** In a thread about sound quality, you just made a post telling people that vinyl was the 'better' purchase. That's objectively false, you're free to spend your money as suits your own preference, but I'm not knocking on your door of your home to tell you you misspent your money on vinyl; you're espousing a personal preference on a public forum, in contrast to established science, and I'm correcting that misconception. Personally, I don't give a shit if you waste your money on vinyl, especially, if it helps Anton earn a living from music

This band had a lot of potential- the lyrics are not really very good at all but the guitar layering is great- the sound is intentionally derivative but works. There isn't any need though to be so completely obvious in their imitation of the Stones and Beatles ACCENTS - it sounds ridiculous - and it really undermines their stature as a serious band- IF LOVE IS THE DRUG is the standout.
