I accidentally did that with my main pawn lol. They’re a balding 50 year old man with the voice of the woman. I know I could easily fix it with Art of Metamorphosis but I leave it like that because why the hell not
I picked a male voice and my character still had a female voice when I started. I think it's a bug..
That happened to me too! But luckily I noticed the minute he spawned and said- nope let's redo this. I spent forever on character creation and know what voice I finally decided on... so not sure about this but just glad I could fix it right away.
It took me so long to figure out what “fernworth” was.
Feels like they lowered the distance for npc render to help the framerate.
Games running much better on ps5 now, turn motion blur and ray tracing off. But leave variable frames on, getting plus 40 fps, 60 in caves.
The frame pacing is god awful though so the high frames don't even matter smh. This is an absurdly bad optimized game for meh graphics.

The ray traced lighting is actually noticable in this game and makes it look better. I just turned off motion blur. Im also done believing people that locked 30 is better, doesnt feel that way here. FF16 is the only example on unacceptable ray tracing. Dropping a game to 720p on ps5 is incompetent.
The difference between locked 30fps and variable/unlocked 30fps is up to personal preference. Some people are more sensitive to the constantly changing frame-times caused by variable framerate, and might prefer a stable 30 without constant fluctuation.
This isn’t locked, unfortunately, it’s capped so you still see some jutters here and there. But I still think it’s the best choice. It would take a locked 60 fps to get me to abandon the ray tracing, it looks absolutely fantastic in this game.
I beat the game soon as it downloaded and got the GOOD ENDING, seen NEW GAME PLUS, SMILED, went back to INN SAVE, got the BAD ENDING, wasn’t a new game plus option , went back to INN SAVE and now in the TRUE ENDING world. All 3 endings on one playthrough.
Now go outside, touch glass
nice. I will probably do a NG+ later and just do all the missed quests and trophies and then all the other endings. Went with the true ending on my first playthrough

On pc...i turned ray tracing off before i even started...didn't have any issues with performance...and i think it still looks great...glad console got the option!

Looks like they changed the text of the Achievement "Full Marks" with the patch, as well. They use "Goddess of Riddles" instead of the character's name.

My friend and I immediately knew it would be an annoying issue within the first 20 minutes of gameplay. Pawns and NPC's just interrupt you no matter what you're doing. You could be fighting an ogre off to the side of a road and a pawn will stop you to talk about how they can swipe the weeds outta your inventory and make a healing item with them. Like bro, let me play my game in peace!

How does someone need the house earlier?
I have far smoother performance in general postpatch. Not much increase in max FPS but stability is up by a lot, stutter is down even in Bakbattahl. I'll report back when I actually get to Vernworth, but I'm not having the choppiness anymore elsewhere. Graphics are also far less blurry with DLSS.

@@erversalas9289 Pretty sure I just started with default, cranked texture and model details, put on DLSS quality, and dropped options that weren't important until I stopped getting the high VRAM warning.
FPS is set to my max of 165 because I'm a G-Sync user, although, it only really goes from 72-120 postpatch. Prepatch I would get hard, juddery dips below 60. Now even standing in Meteoron doesn't dip below 60. Whenever I get the chance I guess I'll go to Vermund to find out if it fixed that on my machine.
Had no issues what-so-ever on PC at launch but since the update i now get random intermittent freezes.

Will the Xbox series s overheating be fixed in the update?
The performance on pc in town is much improved but the npc's will phase in and out of reality randomly which makes searching for somebody a bit difficult. I have found that the performance uplift on pc for turning off ray-tracing isn't worth the loss of its features. Turning RT off only gives me an extra 3-6 fps on average but makes the world look a lot worse on a RTX 3060ti.

My only complaint, like with the first game, there are scripting bugs for two early missions that blocked me from finishing them (completely them via alternate methods). The first DD1 had a late game error that blocked me from finishing it. Be careful...

There are way too many performance issues to start developing nerfs and balance adjustments. Plus, nerfs for what… there’s no PVP. No one on the other side of the balance. I hope they leave damages alone- I’m taking my time to go through the game (+20 hours and still in the Melve, the second time) and the last thing I want is to experience a sudden change in character power / leveling / etc. I’m loving this game so far and I hope they don’t disturb my peace.
When I was just trying to find the magistrate,
the guards kept attacking me in the prison, and it autosaved, I thought it would reload back at the latest campfire not Inn, so the last time I rested at an inn was back at the very first time in the game...
59 game days gone because I only saved once ...I went from level 29 back to 2 and the very beginning.
The option to reload back in prison was no longer available.
I was put off by the inns being so expensive that I had just always used campfire, why doesn't campfire save count as resting at inn? Or why not latest campfire save be an option?
I downloaded exp mod and lots of other quality of life mods to help shore up some of my lost progress but if this happened to me on PS5 I would have quit the game entirely..

@@azuln.3760 Blame the expensive prices in the game, I gathered and grinded for gold, curatives, and what gear I had access to purchase to save up and build up a nice gold pile. It was just how the prices made me go about playing, and then it became second nature, and I forgot all about resting at an Inn.
You just go to the right and avoid guards in that quest....

For me more important frame rate. I don’t care light. I can play even 1080p. but not 30fps. Now DD2 looks much better 40-45 fps. Today I started new game like a thief and I wanna say this is amazing! I hope in the future we’ll see 60 fps.
I've got the update and all I've done is take the 'motion blur' off.. and for me it's seemed to have sorted most of the issues.

Turning off motion blur and locking game at 30 fps were available day 1, there just was too much going on for most people to notice.
It wasn't available on PS5

Just FYI, VRR doesn't increase FPS in any way whatsoever. It changes the monitor refresh rate to the current FPS, so the experience can end up being a bit smoother.
Also, it's just not working in this title. It needs 48-60 FPS to work in PS5.

Normally, monitors/TVs have a fixed refresh rate. Most commonly this is 60 Hz.
However, games are not displayed at 60 FPS constantly (most of them anyway).
VRR changes the refresh rate to match the FPS of the game. So if the game is outputting 57 FPS, the refresh rate will change to 57 Hz. This happens constantly.
It also only works in PS5 between 48 FPS and 60 FPS. Any lower than that and it won't work. So in Dragon's Dogma 2, a 30 FPS game, VRR won't activate at all.
You also need a monitor that supports this feature to activate it to begin with.

You know it blows my mind how in any other RPG if players have the ability to respec alongside the option of New game save file the majority choose to respec to try different builds rather than starting a whole new character. Yet the one time multi-class builds is simplified for you everyone rages.. lmao smh.. However I truly dont understand all the fuss and whining about the lack on multiple save files/ new game saves, considering that in Dragon's Dogma you're able to switch between Vocations as you wish simply by visiting an Inn. Doing so then allows you to play as and level up each class within the game without the need of a traditional "Respec". Not to mention the addition of the Warfarer class that let's you switch on the fly. With all said I just dont see what someone would need/want another save file/New game.
i think its mostly streamers,ytber problem since they need more chars for content but for casual DD enjoiyer save games are no problem.
I want a new game so I can make a different pawn without deleting my current one.
Those are some good points there. The only reason I can think of for multiple save slots would be if you have another person in your house that wants to play a seperate character.

It wa a reference to the first game 😀. In DD2 the forger is located in Checkpoint rest town. Take the oxcart from Vernworth and search the little village. It could really be that your 'missing' item wil now be sold by said forger. At least in DD1 it was that way. Good luck...

This is probably wishing thinking but the game really should be able to 120fps at 1080p at least even if that setting can only see whats in front of you basically. That could make the game harder because emeries can jump scare the player.😅😒

I don't know if anyone's tried this yet but a week before the game came out you had a character creator in storage I'm wondering if you could use that to make another character to add in game without starting a new one
I used it for my Arisen and Pawn in game. You can absolutelly use it for saving time in character creation.
Maybe it’s my old eyes, but I think the game actually looks better in most aspects with ray tracing and motion blur off. Definitely plays better.
As mentioned, an option to hide the head gear/all weapons and some transmogrification would be sweet.

Yes they. They clearly have a different vision of how to play than a lot of people. They don't want save scumming or quick saving before a choice. I mean it would be nice if they let us play the game they way we wanted but they clearly have a hamfisted approach.
I thought the 1 character thing was to do with our mainpawns, so every person doesn't have several mainpawns online etc.. i mean i dunno what it would change except mean a higher file size for there servers, but maybe im missing something considering they're 'advanced AI' etc maybe it has or some reason around that subject.. i dunno im just a layperson trying to make excuses lol
@@Ryy86 That could easily be avoided by only allowing one pawn at a time per player to go online (maybe by making it a choice in the main menu).
Think the issue would be people creating multiple files , and there'd be a lot more pawns than expected. You could probably exploit something to where you can just hire your own pawns and finish challenges and other pawn related stuff. Destroying the feel of the game.
@@SakisasvictorianmaskIt's simple to put in words doesn't mean it's simple to put in practice and likely much easier to not bother at all and allow just one save than figure out how to Frankenstein allowing one out of dozens of your pawns on your profile to be uploaded.
Considering that back in DD1 you could get your Lv200 pawn uploaded and rented by someone. Start an entirely new game which would download the learned information from that old pawn into your new pawns data, yeah, pretty positive it has something to do with their network architecture and how the information flows that prevents what you are saying should be simple.

They said it wasn't going to be 60fps a month ago, so you knew that when you bought it/ didn't cancel your preorder.
Please the game is totally playable, now even better on PS5, I am sure there will be a patch in a near future that will improve overall performance. The game is worth playing even at the moment.

Dd2 is a bit repetetive atm with enemies. Elden ring beats other rpgs mainly cause of enemy variety. Areas feel fresh and exiting when everything is new
Hopefully the DLC can fix that. It did for RE 4 remake when some of the iconic moments were supposedly cut but then moved to DLC
Elden Ring enemies are dumb as rocks though, very video gamey where what you’re mostly doing is reading their movesets. Dogma enemies are miles more alive and reactive, they interact with each other and with the environment. You don’t see Elden Ring enemies reacting to the environment do you?
