This could house many of Germany's homeless, thereby giving new and positive life to the building.
This would be the best use for it.

Not a single guest? Fake news! I stayed there this summer in the youth hostel. Just look for new videos about "Prora".
Parts of the building have been used all the time and until now about 80% are restored.
In 1944 there was a hospital inside, then the red army used it, since Prora is located on the island Ruegen, in the former Eastern Germany.
The National People’s Army (NPA) of east germany had more than 10.000 soldiers stationed there, but also rest homes for there families where integrated. It was also used as a training center for the Volkspolizei (Police of East Germany). During that period some parts have been destroyed.
Since the German reunification in 1990 it is a cultural heritage and being restored since. There are museums showing the history of this place, a youth hostel, hotels, retirement homes, shops, and a lot of luxury apartments for up to 1million Dollars.
So if interested in history inform yourself and don`t just believe this video with no facts.

"The People's Hotel" . Hitler envisioned the VW bug as a People's car, and ordered it designed and built. . It seems he was gonna make all kinds of inexpensive things for the World to become "Low income"..
One massive building is much cheaper to operate than many individual hotels. It was probably gonna be a low priced alternative vacation spot for Germans that can't afford to travel far..

Lol... I spent 6 month of my life there. It is one of the most outstandingly beautiful locations on this island with a wonderful sandy beach. The luxury conversion flats of the old KdF complex you saw trade as high as €6000 per square metre. Only very wealthy clients can afford that. Trust me, it is beyond the reach of most Germans and average US American citizen too. I associate horror movies with dilapidated haunted creaky houses, not luxury flats for the upper crust on a dream sandy beach.

      B) Don't you think it's a bit luxurious to give convicts beach front views?
      C) It's already redeveloped.

What has its history got to do with anything? The VW Beetle has the same history yet everyone loves it.

The VW has has a bad history here in the States, that car was a death trap when people were involved in accidents. An acquaintance of mine got into an accident and was killed in that car...

thaz a shame, between the Baltic Sea and the bay? That could be an exquisite resort - do you know how many jobs that would create? Never mind monies made in food production alone. I think iz great!

Ya go into the hotel lobby & they give you the 10,000 th room. You take the key & drive 3 miles, get out of your car to the 10,000th room. OR!
You use it to help your guests to lose weight ! A Drill Sgt. makes you carry your own bags & has you 'trot' 3 miles to your room. You drop and give the DI 100 push ups, then 20 pull ups, then 200 jumping jacks counting 1 ! 234 2! 234 3! 234 & so on.
Since the restaurant is in the lodge you get to run back to eat your meals. Wouldn't 'that's be fun?!

Uhm, unless im mistaken, 500 ft is not 1500 meters, roughly.
1500 meters is about 4500 ft or about 3/4 of a mile about 1ish km

Who bought it and who sold it?
Whose name was the property under? You just have to ask.
