There’s also the case of a South Korean village in the DMZ area that had a big flag pole. So the North Koreans set up a bigger one on their side.
The US gifted the South Korean village with an even bigger pole and the North Koreans responded by making theirs something around 150m tall. Effectively double the height the South Korean flag stood.
Can't wait for the flag pole taller than the Burj khalifa

There also is insufficient rebar in the concrete. It's amazing the structure is still standing. This is why the hotel is primarily still empty. The support beams cannot support the weight of all the guests, staff, equipment, etc.

*Because it’s in North Korea.*

North Korea: Lets build a giant hotel in a country, that no one visits.
4:07 Pointless? How the hell is it pointless? It's a pyramid for God's sake
Well, when your population is starving and you don't have a proper and stable source of income spending over a million on a pyramid is not a sensible course of action considering that the workers building it probably don't get enough food...
It's pointfully pointless. Or pointlessly pointful. One of those.
@@calebgonsalves2970 Do i have to write "sarcastic comment" for you to get the joke?
Hehe if they wanted people to get the point of it, they should have built it as a needle...
“Construction started in 1987, but the story starts a year earlier. In 1986.”
never could’ve guessed that 1986 was a year before 1987
Why North Korea didn’t open the hotel in 30 years:
*Top ten questions science can’t answer*
I like how he uses a picture of Data from Star Trek instead of a picture of Mark Zuccerburg
2:44 Mark Zuckerberg had the best performance in Star Trek the next generation. He was so lifeless its uncanny
Funnily enough I’ve spent several nights on a couple of occasions at the Westin Stamford in Singapore & a very comfortable and efficient, if somewhat sterile, place it is too. I had no idea it was built by a (South) Korean company, but my current car is from there too and I’m very happy with it. I doubt anyone outside North Korea will be driving a vehicle designed or manufactured there in the next several decades, sadly for its impoverished citizens.
2:45 Mark Zuckerberg 😂wtf
what has he transfigured into? lmao
Looks right to me.
Sheeple! Mark Zuckerberg is a robot built by the Reptilians to distract us from signs of their rule!
That's Mark
That's Zuckerberg after stealing all our personal data.

Build huge pyramid look buidling : ✔✔✔
Well, that’s easy to deduce:
1.- No one in the entire country has enough money to afford staying at a fancy hotel (other than politicians that have equally fancy homes)
2.- International tourism is EXTREMELY limited.
With these two points and some of your other videos, we can ascertain that running an extremely large hotel that will see next to no use is extremely expensive for a country that keeps its economy afloat by stealing money, which the people in power would rather spend in nukes and luxury goods for themselves.
I feel the L theme playing in my head.
A 105 story hotel that never opened and isn’t completed? That definitely sounds like the most pointless thing ever built.

Book a tour and they sort your visa. The catch is that the tour has to be from a company officially sanctioned by the North Korean government and you can only go where they take you. No wondering around by yourself.
I hope you realize how risky such a venture is, and you’re giving money to a government that routinely tramples their own citizen’s human rights and has no qualms about doing the same to foreigners
I don't know perhaps the fact that it will never really get any visitors had something to do with it.
