I love what you are doing with this camp. The music education is important, as is the growth from performing for an audience, but I think the relationships formed may be even more important. At the end of May, I was at a Branson show and ended up in a conversation with the young lady sitting in the next seat. She was a teenage fiddler from Iowa. She was in town for the wedding of a local musician that she had met at a camp such as this. As I mentioned some of the groups that I had recently watched in the Youth in Bluegrass competition from across the mid-west, she claimed many of the performers as personal friends. I remember thinking that she was really blessed to have had the chance to attend music camps in her formative years.

it sounds like they had a lesson in syncopation but not in timing (counting). They seem to be trying to out syncopate each other.
In bg, multiple voices sing together in harmony not in unison, which sounds like a choir section.
At our camp, final show groups were assigned a professional advisor to get them in shape. And then a clean up pro came around day of show to catch any obvious issues.
