I really enjoyed PREDATORS, loved that there were so many throwback moments to Predator (1987) which I LOVED! That predator with the cool helmet that I loved so well, I guess that ones called a "Berserker Predator"--- damn that predator was so freaking cool looking, I couldn't get over it😂LOVE LOVE LOVED seeing Laurence Fishburne in this, that really caught me by surprise in the BEST of ways. Great performances all around from Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Alice Braga, Topher Grace--I really enjoyed it. I hope you enjoyed my reaction💖
One call back, done a bit differently...the fall from the cliff into the water. In 87, long, graceful slow motion fall. 2010, it looked like film crew grabbed the actors and threw them over the cliff...no slow motion, no graceful landing. It looked brutal.
Interesting. I had not heard of the berserker Predators. I suppose, like any other society, there might be, like castes, that would gravitate to each other and form...in this case...tribes. They clearly are physically superior, appear to far more aggressive and vicious. The one Royce freed seemed honorable and willing to repay the debt he now owed Royce by taking him back to Earth. The other, well, he did blow up the ship.
it was no "Berserker" predator, it was an Alien-Predator an alien that came out of a predator infected by a facehugger..... you should watch the end credit scene of AvP not sure if 1 or 2...
Except that Billy was much more stockier than Hanzo, and was fighting against the smaller species of Yautja. Plus fighting on top of a fallen tree, which serves as a bridge across a river in the middle of a thick jungle, as opposed to an open field was a poor choice on his part. In contrast to our beloved Yakuza enforcer, who was fighting a larger breed, yet he had the luxury of open ground to move around more freely.
This movie deserves more love. I think it was a great sequel to the other 2 and I liked the twist of them being on another planet. It’s definitely better than the 2 AvP movies and the 2018 “The Predator”. Thank you so much for reacting to it and giving it some attention.
@@CChissel word is that Prey was so good that there’s talk of doing more like that where you have Predators in different time periods. One guy on TikTok even did a skit of creators coming up with one set in Japan in like the 1100’s.
@@bigjoeofthe707 The crap thing is, the initial plans for the franchise were a combination of this movie and the idea of Prey, where it explored both what could happen if the hunt was taken elsewhere, and where some may have intersected with human history. The flintlock that is given at the end of Predator 2 is directly tied to the intention for random prequels across human history. Prey is like a hopeful gamble at returning to the initial intent.
There is one in comic form. If I remember correctly Royce and Isabelle go separate ways and survive for some time together with the new arrivals and after some time Royce manages to escape the planet (I don't remember about Isabelle).
A lot of people don't like this one, but it's my second favorite after the original. This feels more like the spiritual successor to the original than any others.
This movie introduces us to the civil war going on between Yauja. The normal Yauja vs the "Berserker" Yauja, the Berserkers are essentially what's called a "Bad Blood" clan of Yauja that go against the honor code by making sure they constantly have the upper hand by altering their bodies as well and technology
This movie is pretty underrated. Yeah it's a essentially a remake of the first movie, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I could tell you were into it from start to finish. Great reaction
Nice reaction, the main Predator is called Berserker and the three Predators in the movie are known as "Bad Blood". That's the reason why they kill other Yautja. Dark Horse Comics published a comic book series titled "Predator: Bad Blood" which served as the inspiration for this film. The Bad Blood Predators are basically killers without honor. In the comic of Dark Horse it's also revealed that the Bad Blood are cannibals.
Very underrated Sequel. Not a Masterpiece like the first One, but very entertaining with great Effects, awesome Predator-Designs and a nice diverse Cast. Adrian Brody did a good Job in this as a Lead-Action-Star.
I’m super happy you’re enjoying the PREDATOR franchise! As someone that works on this franchise (and other Sci-Fi titles), great to see new fans diving in to the lore of the Yautjas. Also, check out our Predator comics from Marvel. We’re in the middle of our 2nd arc, so there’s still time to jump in. And remember… if it bleeds, we can kill it 😊
20:37 In Japanese martial arts, there's the concept of "ai-uchi" - "mutual striking down." In an article about a big karate sensei in Japan (this was back in the 70s or 80s so I can't remember his name now), the sensei explained ai-uchi as "Even if you can't win outright, you can make it sort of a tie by taking your opponent with you. It's kind of childish but also kind of manly."
Ok, so, even though I’m hella late, I want to comment this because I don’t see anybody else but one person saying this. The three Predators, or Super Predators, are Mr. Black(the one with the gold jaw), Falconer(the one with the drone), and Tracker(the one with tusks and who controls the dogs). They are three Bad Bloods, Predators who went against the honor code. Although in their case, I’m pretty sure they are labeled as bad bloods since birth due to (possibly) being a sub-species of the normal Yautja we know. Also, the Predator that was tied up, the Captured Predator, is part of the same clan that the OG Jungle Hunter is part of.
I recall that I expected this to be quite.... bad. Hearing that Adrien Brody was going to be the main guy and him having never done anything that I'd been aware of where he was a badass of any sort I wasn't seeing how he was going to pull it off (especially after how ok-ish AvP/AvPR had been). Luckily he killed it and this turned out to be a much better Predator movie than I thought it could possibly be. And you seem to also be enjoying it a great deal. Love seeing ya experience such movies w/no idea what's coming up.
Soooo much fun watching with you Lauren. There were a lot of call backs in this one. In spots, the music, the minigun, the one predator, the mud, burning through their ammo..lol. I liked the idea of gathering 'predators' from other worlds and hunting them. The main adversary Yautje's helmet was very very cool. Yeah, this movie is still a lot of fun. Even more fun watching with a friend.😊. Thank you for this Lauren. Peace, light and love my friend.
LOVE THIS MOVIE!! I bought it on DVD back in 2010 for my 20th Birthday! My parents and I watched it and we enjoyed it very much! I did like the reference they made about the first film, where Alan "Dutch" Schaefer, had an encounter with the Predator during 1987 Guatamala Incident. They were going to make a sequel to the movie, where it involved Royce and Isabella as well as their new human allies try to fight back against the Predators onboard a spaceship in a plot very similar to DIE HARD. The climax of the movie would have been a shocking surprise as Royce and Isabella find out they have away from Earth for 200 years and they were cryogenically frozen on their way to the Game Preserve Planet. They encounter Colonial Marines, kee by none other than Corporal Dwayne Hicks from ALIENS! He would have teamed up with our characters to fight not the Predators but the Xenomorphs, ending on a cliffhanger.
In the disc commentary track, somebody (I think it was Robert Rodriguez) said that he wanted Danny Trejo to play Cuchillo, but rather than asking him to play the part, he wanted to trick Danny Trejo into coming to him and asking for the part, so in the outline for the story, he described Cuchillo as a character "who looks just like Danny Trejo." It worked.
This was one of the best experiences you could ask for in movie theaters: Cheering, whooping, laughs and applause from the audience all the way through to the credits. The friend I went to see it with was hoping to see some classic Predator hunting action on the big screen, and neither of us left disappointed! Oh man, the crow went absolutely nuts when after two instances of a sword fight against the Yautja teased but cut away from (Billy in the first movie, King Willie in the sequel), we got to witness a full-on Samurai-style showdown in a moonlit field. It is so clear to see the appreciation for the original movie from the filmmakers here (thank you, Robert Rodriguez) because it delivers exactly what it set out to accomplish -- bring back the enjoyment and thrills of the original concept without a moment of time wasted. Not a groundbreaking new take on the series, but a welcomed and thoroughly satisfying return to form. So glad that you got to experience it! As always, your priceless reactions are every bit as enjoyable as the movie. ^ _ ^
I had goosebumps during this movie reaction, since I've seen one in theaters (2010). I'm shocked it's still great after all this time. Otherwise, also a great movie reaction.
Cool trivia: the weird-looking forest they were in was near Kolekole Falls in Hawaii, while the cave where Alice Braga's character discussed the Predators was in Austin, TX. 😎👍
"A Little Call Back To The First Predator Movie" One of many Callbacks, actually Nickolai is carrying a minigun, just like Jesse Ventura's character, Blane, did in the first movie
Yeah but Blaine had cause to carry a Minigun: He was a U.S. Operator and the Minigun is a U.S. Weapon. Nikolai is a Chechnya Campaign Veteran and no Russian Spetznaz Unit ever had that gun.
Predators is for sure one of my favorites in the series. I wish I had known about the comic book they had made after this movie. It's supposed to be a continuation of this story. I really love the lore and callbacks too ❤
Yay I'm so excited for you to watch this! 3:14 I always took him taking his shoes off as a way to spiritually connect with the "Earth" and try to sense where he might be but maybe felt some sort of vibrational difference, or nothing at all when there should be something, hence his slightly worried look after. I feel like this is kind of the last decent predator movie. 13:37 that creature was what the OG Predator design was supposed to look like, when none other than Jean Claude Van Damme himself was the predator. But was replaced and the creature redesigned. 18:56 That dude went out like a champ, I like these bigger predators, it was the first time really for a bigger predator in the main franchise. 20:42 I feel like this a deliberate and awesome homage to Billy's death in the OG Predator, This movie really knows it's fans and what they could want from the return of a legacy franchise like this. 22:00 you're absolutely right, I've always thought it looked a lot like the Jungle Hunter, Maybe from the same tribe? It's so epic as he slowly picks up his mask. 26:39 I've never imagined Adrian Brody as an action hero, but damn, this movie made me see him in a different light. Super versatile actor. I honestly wouldn't mind more movies of Royce and Isabelle's's further adventures on Predator Planet lol Even if not considered canon but their own thing. The interesting thing I find in Laurence Fishburne's reveal is the helmet he's wearing, it's a Predator mask attached to a samurai helmet, which either means The Predators at some point went to Fuedal Japan and found something they liked about their Prey's attire and incorporated into their own, or more wildly maybe, the Predators were rocking that look in that time and were seen by people who revered their warrior prowess and mimicked their style.
I always thought the 3 first predators are hybrid ones from the aliens as in one of the movies before one got a egg layed in a predator by a face hugger
Same here, I've seen this movie in theaters. Wasn't still later in the year (2010) spotted a few small Easter eggs in the movie (like the actor who played Eric in "That 70s show")
4:47 - There's a deleted scene where Royce confronts Edwin to find out why he's there with them. This explains better how later in the movie Royce expects Edwin to attack him. He never trusted him. 13:24 - Fun fact: This running alien was one of the original concepts for the predator in the first movie. They dug it up and reused it in a different role for this movie. Goes to show the dedication they put into this movie and people didn't appreciate it. 18:37 - In this scene he says in Russian the usual "you're one ugly motherf***" (I think they didn't add subtitles to it). 20:13 - This was an homage to a old Japanese samurai movie (can't remember the title). And btw it's the best scene in the movie, it captures the essence of what Yatjuas are.
Hey, Lauren, there was also the fight between the Yakuza Guy and one of the other predators, which was a callback to Billy's standoff against the predator in the first movie, as well as Little Richard's "Long Tall Sally" playing at the ending credits
Early in his career Laurence Fishburne earned a supporting role in Apocalypse Now, in which he played Tyrone Miller, a cocky 17-year-old Gunner's Mate 3rd Class from the Bronx, nicknamed Mr. Clean. When production began in March 1976, he was just 14 years old, having lied about his age to get the part. Filming took so long that he actually was 17 years old upon its completion. In homage to his role in Apocalypse Now, Nolan’s uniform features an Air Cavalry insignia….& if you listen carefully, you’ll notice he whistles Wagner’s Ride of The Valkyries.
According to the lore The 3 big guys are nicknamed Super Predators Yaujta from a different part of the home planet. In comics and other expanded media there exists a clan of Yaujta called Bad Bloods rogue predators that don't care for an honor code they just hunt and kill whatever they please. Even their own kind. Also love watching these videos they truly make my day. Makes me feel like I'm watching the movie with you sometimes 😊
I kind of view the different Yautjas as the difference between a Western and Eastern people of our world....since the super Predators is part of the same homeworld.
I remember seeing this in theaters thanks for bringing this back to my attention. I like the Yaocha species too they are a great and iconic alien race. Facts on the throw back to the first predator movie at 28:43. Plus I’m glade you liked the 1v1 fight at 30:14 that was my favorite predator/human fight scene in this movie.
Loved the reaction Lauren. This movie deserves more love than it gets, one of my favorites in the franchise. Really good cast. The Berzerker predator is dope and very dangerous. Had a great time watching this with you. 😃❤
Lol, that "let's jump in" was definitely less enthusiastic than normal. Adrien Brody is amazing actor, check out The Jacket and Wrecked with him in them.
The Berserker and his mates captured the Yautja that was chained up and kept him as a pet to humiliate him. The ultimate shame that can be bestowed on one of their kind.
Been requesting this from other reactors for 2 years to no joy, so thank you for giving it a watch, it's a fun movie and I loved watching you react to it. I can hope you give other ignored sequels like Alien3 a watch sometime too, I'd love to see what you make of it. 😊
I still love the next one in the series "The Predator (2018)", been waiting a while for you to get there. Ever since you started talking about them and how you find them fascinating. The thing that really got me about the 2018 version is that I missed it, I totally didn't know it existed. That might have contributed to it being such a treat for me.
One of the few movies with the AA-12, one of the nastiest guns around and a dream collectable. Movie was badass to watch in theatres with your bois, always nice to see Tio Machete.
This movie ain't perfect, but find me a 00s-10s horror/action flick that isn't a bit cheesy! Honestly, I love this era of movies, like the Friday 13th reboot, Halloween (Rob Zombie) and others that classic horror fans turned up their noses at. I love em lol
I rewatched this movie for the first time yesterday since it hit theaters, and found out the jawbone on the main predators helmet is that from a Xenomorphs (Aliens).
while the other predator movies aren't as iconic as the first 2 they're still cool because they add more predator designs to the mix which is always nice :D
Glad you enjoyed this Laurenn. I remember it copped a lot of flak for being derivative when it was released, but it's just a good, fun to watch action movie. I guess the first one was a bit of a break from the action movies of the day, and you only get that once, so any sequel starts on the back foot.
Love this movie, he offers some interesting surprises. It was a lot of fun to watch with you and to see your reaction. Definitely the best movie channel. Keep it that way. 😊
Love this movie....especially the BERSERKER(the cool looking one with the skull jaw) the other 2 falconer and tracker are cool too there was supposed to be 5 but they cut it down to 3 by far the coolest looking super predators enjoyed your reaction Lauren!!!!
This little gem is a great Sequel for the series. I feel like they were trying to capitalize on one of the comic story arcs I remember from high school. But, I was t a huge Dark Horse brand reader, and couldn't recall which series of Predator comics I read from my friend. Anyways, of all the publishers, Dark Horse was honestly the most adult. Graphic, gorey, and just completely mind expanding in art and story concepts. I feel like this would be a great starting point for a TV series about surviving alien game farming. Love your reactions Lauren! Keep up your reaction journey for us to enjoy!
For as much hate as this movie got, it's one of my favourite predator movie. Glad you liked it. 👍 This is also a Robert Rodriguez movie which is my Danny Trejo was in it LOL
Lauren Brain Steele is the Berserker the cool helmet snd his Falconer that fought Hanzo , Carey Jones is Tracker predator helmet with the horns from the bomb💥 and Derek Mears is Classic who was hanged up and fought the beresker !!!

It was deleted because it gave too much away
I can't remember if you've watched Prey or not but I highly recommend that addition to the franchise.
Cool action Sci Fi! Your reactions to the prisoner’s lines… that was a wild character right? What a crazy movie!
10:04 why are we whispering? 🤫
23:29 the face, snout or whatever, of the big predator is incredibly similar to that of the monster from the 1997 film "the relic"
27:36 "...that definitely (probably) hurt." 😆
definitely probably
It's sad Eric Foreman gets no love in this movie.I keep waiting for Fez to come on screen
“No. but I’m fast.” That one of the best scenes.
I love this movie! As good as first 2 for me. 😁 Love the concept.
This is my favorite of the series 👍👍
I loved your reaction as always Laurenn, and told ya about the Berserker/Bad Blood Predator! he looks so badass and my favorite!
Adrian Brody is in a bunch of great films!!!!
I still love the next one in the series "The Predator (2018)", been waiting a while for you to get there. Ever since you started talking about them and how you find them fascinating. The thing that really got me about the 2018 version is that I missed it, I totally didn't know it existed. That might have contributed to it being such a treat for me.
I love this iteration !
All working together (well, sort of), where normally they would be killing each other.
Great reaction and love the videos and channel ☺️
Loved the reaction Lauren. All the predator movies are great and this one delivers too! Super sick movie🥰👍🏾👍🏾
Adrian Brody was cool as shit in this
My highlight was you reprising your AARNOOLD! :)
Hanso and the Falconer predator were both deshonorable individuals, but both fought to the death with honor.
its the Predalien from AVP at the end of the movie he is born in the Predators ship.
One of the few movies with the AA-12, one of the nastiest guns around and a dream collectable. Movie was badass to watch in theatres with your bois, always nice to see Tio Machete.
Went to see this with my BFF. Loved it and your reaction, Laurenn.
This movie ain't perfect, but find me a 00s-10s horror/action flick that isn't a bit cheesy!
Honestly, I love this era of movies, like the Friday 13th reboot, Halloween (Rob Zombie) and others that classic horror fans turned up their noses at. I love em lol
I've seen Fish burns on stage in August Wilson's "TWO TRAINS RUNNING" EXCELLENT😍😍
I rewatched this movie for the first time yesterday since it hit theaters, and found out the jawbone on the main predators helmet is that from a Xenomorphs (Aliens).
My friend made a replica of the new Predator helmet for Holloween.
Love that you like this one. I really like Predators, really doesn't get the love it deserves.
while the other predator movies aren't as iconic as the first 2 they're still cool because they add more predator designs to the mix which is always nice :D
The crazy part is the raf guy was so attuned to nature that she could sense the exact location of the predator.
20:30..."perfect...they are all perfect."
This is a great movie series. The "Pray" movie blew my mind over the time line
Was wondering when you'd get to this one! keep up the great work!
YES!! NEXT the 2018 "The Predator" Needs to be reacted too. I really enjoyed All these Predator movies!
Thank you Stan Winston, for imagining one of the coolest move monsters ever. And thanks Peter Cullen for giving it a voice.
I see this as kind of a reboot of the franchise while still paying homage to the original.
A fun reaction to watch.
Unexpected Cowboy Curtis! 😂
13:58 when the unexpected item in the bagging area turns out to be Lawrence Fishbourne. o_O
Berserker is the most savage Predator of them all.
For as much hate as this movie got, it's one of my favourite predator movie. Glad you liked it. 👍
This is also a Robert Rodriguez movie which is my Danny Trejo was in it LOL
Love watching your reactions to this series… please also watch the rest of the alien movies too
Thank you for this reaction This movie, AVP (2004) and Prey are IMHO the top three predator movies.
The actor who plays the killer doctor is the guy who plays Eric in THAT 70's SHOW
Lawrence Fish burn started his career at 14 in "APOCALYPSE NOW!!"
Prey
Predators
And
Avp are my absolute underrated favorite movie
18:15 "Oh god! Oh jesus!"
😇😆
BEST Predator film of the series!!
Lauren Brain Steele is the Berserker the cool helmet snd his Falconer that fought Hanzo , Carey Jones is Tracker predator helmet with the horns from the bomb💥 and Derek Mears is Classic who was hanged up and fought the beresker !!!
