I’m a bit late on this but on top of all the Dante influence in Ranger’s design and gameplay, I noticed one of his guns is white with black accents and the other is reversed. He’s literally using Ebony and Ivory. I love it, it’s great, he’s my main.
Looks like the next character will be a mystery since Ranger fought Inquisitor here. Berserker's trailer had him fight Inquisitor, who was shown next and she fought Berserker. Third trailer was Grappler and he fought Striker, who was the fourth trailer and she fought Grappler. A pattern of pairs had been established and now it is broken.
Okay..so Rain Storm first appeared in DMC2 (the upside down gun shooting) which dropped in 2003, while DFO came out in South Korea in 2005..yeah..plenty of inspiration there. Also while he's in his 1st Awakning form his super is from his 2nd Awakening "Raven" it's why all the feathers are floating around in the super, the super is pretty much a single target version of his "Seventh Form" awakening move from DFO and he only gets that at 2nd Awakening. It's a little different in DFO as it's meant for taking on groups..but in a fighting game? Yeah, this works real nice.
M.Ranger player here! That Dante move you're talking about is called Air Raid. Unfortunately, it's a move that has been removed from his kit. The only thing we have close enough to it is the final part of his First Awakening skill, Scud Genocide.
Few notes from former Ranger main: 1. Yes, he actually plays like this as DNF/DFO. He's a gunner but ranger class plays more like a medium/close range fighter. 2. Yes, he's lankier than most other characters in the game. There's actually lore explanation for it but long story short, he's from a different timeline, future, and essentially different species than other characters shown so far. 3. He's super stylish and predates Dante by a bit. Please do not listen to Max and take away his signature near-Pink red jacket. 4. Ranger tends to be the character of choice for older dudes (30s and up). Usually like "Ranger" is sort of seen as signs of age lol (and in the actual game, the ongoing joke in Korea/China/Japan is that only salaryman/woman can afford to play Ranger.

He does so much Noel move its almost scary
You could say... this partys gettin crazy?
I am happy that you put DMC music in it
Max you should just try DFO at this point. With the button command specials you'd feel right at home.
I would not recommend it. At the point DFO is now, you have to be some sort of spender to get anywhere in that game. Maybe if he does it strictly for PvP, and even then he has to be level 50 I think. Also PvP is a dead scene in global.
@@HalfBoiIed It's fine at low level, it would be amazing if he can get to lvl 50, cause for sure DNF Duel is only basing it on stuff under lvl50/2nd Awakening.
@@HalfBoiIed hell I've been trying to get into it but I'm struggling because of boring the grind is. Everyone says the real game starts at endgame. But idk If I can get there because one shotting every mob in the game is quite boring.
Good point but in end game the mobs one shot you.
@@lazerrhino ehh, i understand that feeling and i whish they would change it. But if you don't want to one shot mobs during leveling, make a female slayer spectre as your event character. She has a special dungeon after the first few story quests that you can choose the difficulty of and it can get really challenging
I like the Suicide Squad meme with him and Happy Chaos:
*Happy:* "He does everything that I do!"
*Ranger:* "But better."
A lot of those are actual moves in dungeon and fighter. keep in mind he was one of the initial lineup of 2005, so his style is ancient. though some were advanced ranger moves which did come in later.
Max needs to hold a tournament. Winner gets to be the only one who plays ranger.
According to the HP uploaded video, this is game is Granblue with the cooldown (needed MP to execute moves). Hope that Max don't get dissapointed.... And that he tries and hopefully enjoys Striker XDDD
2:05 Max: "This guy is 10 times better than Erron Black"
Kenny: "I sense a disturbance in the Force"
I'm amazed Max wanted to even LOOK at another Gun Wielder after what Chaos did to his hands in Strive
I AM SO HAPPY HE SAID TRIGGUN
Dude even has a black gun and white gun, aka, Ebony and Ivory.
A gunsman with capoeira, freaking awesome
Now I can't wait to see you react to all the DFO subclasses.
Gun-kata done right. Eat your heart out Equilibrium.
Seeing Max a bit lost on side scroller game gameplay is amusing!
Tbh so was I😅 Never played the og, so every time Max shows it, my eyes don't know where to look.
You had me at “telekinetically spinning guns that fire a bullet tornado”.
This dude is just Dante thats fully commited to Gunslinger.
2:20
Annie are you okay
B O O M
All that crazy stuff on the screen is just what happens when a job class in an MMO gets a 2nd, 3rd, Neo Max awakening. I remember level 1~15 in DFO, way back. was slower and you had melee moves. End game must just be like pewpewpew with a ton of special effects.
Ranger just being Gunslinger Dante makes me so happy, he is so fricking cool and I can't wait to try him out!
I mained ranger in DFO and I’m totally playing him in this. Easily the most badass trailer so far!
- Byken
- Blazblue got rollback
- Ranger Trailer
Thank you Arc Sys for making my day
“Annie are you okay!” Good catch Max!!!
Smooth Criminal
he even has his revolvers matching the colors of Ebony&Ivory
this is amazing
gunner (ranger) has always been my favorite dfo class
The best way to describe the character’s vibes.
Lean And Lanky Dante using only Gunslinger and his only form of education was from Terry Bogard.
Ranger the class I played in DFO when I did play mostly due to the Dante-esque personality he had and awesome abilities.
Basically Cowboy Dante
So… just Dante ?
@@scrublordesaka3678 Dante with a hat.
ye
I'm okay with that
@@knox7945 , Dante already has a hat. (Dr Faust) 😁
The man's using Ebony&Ivory, he's never going to run out of bullets plus he did the rainstorm move gg.
The break dance move is straight from DMC 5, surprised no one saw that
His guns are black and silver… Ebony and Ivory?
Excelent song choice ;) this will be one hell of a party.
I think Max should tell us who's making this game. i kind of forgot about that.
We must get something during Game Awards 2021 this week. Because they put these trailers regularly. It would be weird to not give us something.
0:43 If you look at the bottom right you can see a grenade ready to explode. This nade skill is actually one of Male/Female Gunner's base skills to use. ;) It's cool how they got that in there.
Omg this character even has a black and a white gun, I didn't notice that before. Very excited for this game!
I can't wait for them to bring Rogue to the game to leave Max completely dumbfounded as to what the hell is happening on screen. She's the fastest character in the game full of teleporting grab moves and quick movement skills
I’m a bit late on this but on top of all the Dante influence in Ranger’s design and gameplay, I noticed one of his guns is white with black accents and the other is reversed. He’s literally using Ebony and Ivory. I love it, it’s great, he’s my main.
Yes! I been waiting for someone to mention the trigun similarities
"like Trigun"...dood, same thought and its always good hear a Trigun shoud out.
The first thing that I thought after watching the trailer was "Max gonna love this character"
Imagine if it's Elemental Bomber, because who needs to fight your enemies with guns, swords or fists when you can just nuke them into oblivion >:D
Vash the Stampede!!! that is who that dude reminds me of, thank you! was driving me crazy..
now it's the fun part where we have absolutely no idea who's gonna show up next, it's time to dig through DFO's classes
I really wanna see Skirmisher added to this game. With his afterimage class skill it just screams mixup city.
Yep I knew Max would love Gunslinger style Ranger Dante
Down Forward Heavy, Down Down Heavy, Back Forward SPECIAL
Few notes from former Ranger main:
Slight correction dante came first if the information i have is correct. DFO was released in 2005 where as devil may cry came out in 2001
The Ranger always struck me as the illegitimate love child of Ragna the Blood Edge and DMC's Dante.
