Here's a big lesson from this video for folks who aren't pilots, but still need to perform under stress: notice how he narrates what he's doing. This is key. Your internal monologue should be a series of clean commands, spoken in a soft voice. It's as if you're instructing a child inside your head. It should be a sterile cockpit too; no commentary about anything irrelevant to what's happening in your field of view that isn't necessary to perform your task at hand ("oh look, a bird!"). He's using the same mindset Olympians use for optimal performance. Great content.
Fly Navy! It's always awesome seeing your videos.. it shows how intense the whole operation is but how calm you stay. I know that being calm is critical to you staying alive, but it is still amazing to watch. You are appreciated.. for your service and for sharing it with us!! Stay safe!
I'm a fairly arrogant Man however I couldn't do your job. I am, however, thankful for your saving my arse and my brothers on many occasion. I'm old now and never thought I'd see fifty. Lack of effort on my part. Wonderful channel Sir.
Pail, Excellent video as always. As a retired Vark Fixer, Love the pure raw sounds of the cockpit with a double engine run. THAT is the real 'music', the real sounds of avionics and those F414's (TF30's in my case). Pilot and/or a Maintainer's oneness with the machine was a pure heaven like experience and I miss it.
We walked the flight deck of CVN70 today while docked in LA Harbor and it was awesome!! It's hard to imagine how big the "boat" really is until you actually are standing on it or inside the hangar bay. You also realize how big it is when you look over the edge of the flight deck and down towards the waterline. Yikes, that's a long way down! But no worries, Fly Navy!
Currently going through the process of deciding if I want to fly navy or not. Planning on going to my nearest officer recruiter soon. Fighter jets, e-6s, p-8s, all aircraft that I love to see in action and would love to fly someday! I just hope that my uncorrected vision won’t be a problem or I can get lasik!!
Another wonderful clip! Your narrative and attention to detail is amazingly cogent and on point (p.s. good work as always on your signature moves). Look forward to being aboard again!

Glad to hear it!
It's been 40 years since I left the Corps (Airwing) and been on a carrier. Watching your vids brings back all the sound, smells and good times from those days. Thanks.
Cheers.
Cheers!
one of the most amazing videos ive ever watched. so profesional and calm, just wow
What a great perspective! Thanks for taking us landlubbers along 😁
Love your videos mate. Always entertaining and just plain cool. Although I'm from Down Under, thank you for your Global service.
Amazing!!!! I love your channel!! Greating from Italy❤️
Throwbacks are great! Keep 'em comin', but your new stuff is great too.
Fly Navy!
Fly Navy!
That was pretty cool! Glad I clicked.
Excellent voice over work Sir. Enjoyed the ride. Go Navy. Fly Navy!
I thought the day that I would miss the hectic and deadly days on flightops would never come. Watching your videos put me right back on that deck. Thank you very much and thank you for your sacrifices and service defending and protecting our citizens and our country. For it is the Men and Women in our Military that makes this nation proud and determined to protect freedom from tyranny and oppression around the globe. Go Navy. Fly Navy!
You can attend countless teamwork training sessions with trainers rattling on and on about trust and communication within the team, but this one powerful demonstration of precisely that speaks a thousand words: I've got you.
Another awesome video. Thanks Pail. Fly Navy!!!
Another great vid Pail. Thanks for the cockpit view and commentary. Cheers from down under 🇦🇺 Stan.
I’m going into 8th grade but it is my dream to become a pilot for the navy. Right now all I can do is play flight sims and keep my grades up. You are one of my favorite UA-camrs and I hope someday I can have a job as a naval aviator like you.
This is awesome, thanks for the content!
Your narrating is top-notch thank you for your service.USA 🇺🇸
So much fun and info in your video's. Always enjoy the POV.
To you and all the men and women who serve our country, and to those who had served and are no longer with us, a peaceful Memorial Day.
Thanks for being there , only wish I could have a go at what you do 😂
Thanks for the insight, clear skies to you!
left a comment some time ago about finding an instructor to get my pilot's license, but i don't remember which video it was on 😅 a quick update though -- i got to fly for the first time yesterday! a family friend flies an aerobatics plane and took me up for a while. he was kind enough to teach me a couple basic things and i am absolutely in love ❤️❤️ thanks for being a huge inspiration, pail!!!
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Nerver get tired of watching you fly ✈️ Thank you! 🫡
I have no words enough to tell better how amazing and superfunny you are and this jam is!! "Oh jeez" (and the whole chapter) sounds so, so awesome, the very Best, and gets me smile, laugh & my eyes shine every single time I hear it!!!😊😂 I like to make many kind of handcraft items either for myself or as a gift for my family and friends. Now I wanna do something with "Oh jeez" on it. I'm sure, it'll remind me of this jam 💖, and makes me smile where ever I am...!!
I love this jam!!! 💖💖💖 Thank you!! 💜
love all the new graphics, arrows and diagrams
Love this channel. Amazing. I grew up in Port Orchard across from the Bremerton Naval Base. Carrier's you to tests catapults and those plans launched on the right side of the deck always flew over the house. Very familiar with the F-18 engine tones. Cheers, and thank you for such an insightful view for once was a dream.
Good job on all your videos! Love the narration!
