    დიდი მადლობა, ანა! Your comments are almost more helpful than the video itself!
    It's lovely that you are being so helpful to people who want to learn the wonderful, but daunting, Georgian language

    Thanks so much. It's very clear and nice to listen. As an Italian there are many familiar sounds, such as ghvino (vino), fortukhlis (portugal-). Sometimes "k" sounds like a click sound.

    Interesting Georgian is language for itself and not related to other big European language groups but somehow still sounds like some weird mix between Slavic and Greek, at least by sound i don't know Greek but it sounds like Greek but on the other hand there are many Slavic sounding words, Sat, Kava, Čaj, Deserti, Burgeri, Sendviči sound literaly same like in my language and i am Croatian so my language is Slavic with alot Latin, Turkish, German and even some Hungarian influence.

    • @ForestHealth
      @ForestHealth Рік тому +1

      I think those words Kava and chai come from Persian and Persian is older than your or mine language. Burgers and sandwiches are international words.

    • @stipe3124
      @stipe3124 Рік тому

      Maybe! It one of possibilites
      But i think Čaj/Tee both have Chinese origin

    Huh, so ფ can be pronounced as F in loan words?

    • @speakgeorgian

      We do not have "F", so we replace with "ფ", sometimes we still say "F" in words, like for cafe, fries...

      Interesting. Are there any words spelt the same with ფ where it’s a different word if ფ is pronounced as an F or P, or that makes sense?

    • @speakgeorgian
      @speakgeorgian  Рік тому

      Yeah, if you say "ფაფა" it is porridge, if you say "პაპა" it means grandpa. I hope I understood the question.

    • @speakgeorgian
      @speakgeorgian  Рік тому

      It does not change a lot if you replace "F" with "ფ", I do not remember now anything

      Not entirely my question, but that’s my fault for not being specific.
      Let’s say there’s Georgian has a word spelt as ფონი. If you pronounce it as Poni if means one thing (pony) but if you pronounce it has Foni, it means another word (phony). Are there words like that are spelt the same with ფ but it’s distinguished by sound?

  • @CiroDiMaRzio12304

    Mabey say the words more slowly when repeating so we can understand how to pronounce the words better.
