@@mattwithoutfear The SARLAR and the official one will both do it BUT you must simply disconnect the black head support piece first (easily done). Supposedly the Younik case is big enough to not even have to do that.
I am so thankful that I found this video, i recently got a quest two and it’s great! my only issues are the battery life and the horrible head-strap. It just comes loose too easily and too quickly and it leaves the screen all blurry and it causes eye strain really quickly
It's a shame they don't offer a version like this with a battery. I find having the extra battery life helps a lot, and I often dip into the second battery's battery life when playing.

Budget is definitely a big concern and if money wasn't as much of an issue for me compared to those already getting into VR I would just drop a few hundred on multiple battery packs. I'm a hard-core gamer and regularly play at least 6 hours a day and I intend to play this just as much if I ever manage to get one.
Get a Bobo VR M2 Elite Strap is as comfortable as this one and it has a built-in battery that adds 3 hour to your play time, I got one recently, at the beginning I was skeptical but when it arrives I understood it was a really game changer, I Also got a second battt pack, now I have unlimited play time..... pretty good product
The strap alleviates the bend and break issue in the standard elite by allowing the strap to pivot in that high pressure area instead of bend. My elite strap bends like crazy in that spot when I put it on and take it off and one has snapped already with this new one showing stress cracks. Definitely going to grab this one instead.
Dude wish I found your video earlier. YOURE THE ONLY one in any of these reviews and tips and tricks that addressed what I felt was the most important feature. It’s like no one cared about the need to move their device out of the way temporarily which to me is essential for safety and convenience. If I wanted to take the headset off and put it on then keep the original crappy strap. Anything else is just marketing. Thank you and keep it up
2:38 this right here I didn't even really consider after I just ordered it. I do find myself walking around a lot in passthrough as to what you said. its cumbersome taking it on and off. and passthrough can be annoying once you leave the play space. the more videos I watch the more I feel confident I made the right choice. bought this because you claimed the headset could flip up. I'm constantly switching between my computer and headset, so this was a super valuable feature. After fiddling with it for half an hour I couldn't get it to rest on my head while flipped :(
The kiwi design is easier to fit over my glasses because of the hinge. With the elite strap I need to re-adjust the headset every time I put it on. Also, I got the kiwi for $35 shipped since kiwi normally has discount codes listed right on their page.
Something I noticed with the head strap you get by default when buying a Quest 2 is that whenever you look up or down you can't do it fast because the headset moves on your face in either direction because of the strap being flimsy, I've had my headset fall off my head from me looking up fast when I was playing shooter games or fast paced games, But the Quest 2 is quite durable in that sort of way, Another thing to point out is that it feels quite heavy on your face and if you decide to tighten up the back where the 2 plastic bits are after playing for around 15 minutes your face and the back of your head is in pain with 3 pressure points pressing down.
Also a new quest user - just can’t get the included quest strap to fit without either crushing my forehead or cheeks - so I’m now waiting for my kiwi to arrive. I’ve been through adjustment tutorials etc but it’s either my head or my hair that’s just not working with it. I’m mainly going to play beatsaber or pingpong etc so having something to balance out the weight and make it fit securely is a big need. I’m also used to the OG psvr & while that one fogged up or tried to swallow my nose & I couldn’t wear glasses it was a 100% more comfortable
7:02 i feel like im using my kiqi headstrap wrong because it still puts a ton of pressure on my face no matter how much i adjust it. what am i doing wrong? i can only get the strap to hold weight on the very top of my head but not the whole head just the very top and i get quest sag where it starts to droop down unless i make it so tight it squeezes my face, everybody and their mother says this kiwi strap is the best but i havent been able to figure out how im using it wrong.
I'm a big fan of kiwi designs, solid products. I liked the FB Silicone cover before the kiwi cover arrived... the nose flaps are the big difference, much better light control. As for head straps... if I'd not bought the elite battery strap I'd definitely have bought the kiwi strap. IMO the battery strap is the best strap option for the quest 2 because of the battery and the better weight distribution you get with the battery hanging off the back, it totally removes that feeling that the headset wants to tip forward and is comfortable enough to wear through an entire charge without discomfort.

Did you order new face padding from Kiwi too? It has ventilation so it will feel less hot at your face. With both good stuff from Kiwi, you have best setup for Quest 2. :-) I have both and it does the job very well. Only i didn't think about popup feature. Because it helps also to put on your head easier.
I received mine 2 weeks agao after wasting money on 'cheaper' chinese alternatives - would never buy the Oculus strap due to continuing reliability concerns - and it's worth every single penny. I can now use my Q2 literally for hours without a hint of discomfort - for me, generally around the rear of my head - plus, as you say, it looks 1st class!
I have the default head strap, and I'm thinking about getting the elite strap from Kiwi. I have really bad fatigue when wearing the default head strap, so this is a good option.

@@uricot It has 11 thousand 5 star reviews on Amazon. I bought it myself and it's extremely more comfortable than the Q2 default strap. The quality isn't bad, though it does seem use plastic for the straps on both sides of the VR, but it's very flexible and its bends more freely. It's also good at holding the headset firmly in place you're wearing it with the ultimate most comfort and its alot more durable than the elite strap that Oculus released

The only thing that isn't great is the "flip up" functionality really doesn't work for me, i need to push the whole headset up to view the real world. I use some velcro wrap ties to guide the cable to the back and keep stress off the usb port.
I am using Oculus Quest 2 over a year now and no issues with original strap, for longer battery life I using 20.000mAh powerbank which i have in my pocket. Battery life is then 7-8 hours, bought it for idk 30dollars? Then when I am traveling i just put socks into Oculus and wrap it up with scarf never had any damage with it, I fly with it 3 times already ;) Some cheaper alternative for you guys.
I have the kiwi strap, and something I noticed was that oculus had a better design tan this one. The oculus one has a stiff and sturdy silicone piece at the back, and it firmly cups your head. With the kiwi, it doesn’t firmly cup your head, because of all the extra padding. If it’s not firm against your head it might be uncomfortable. Extra padding isn’t always the solution. The strap is still good tho.
kiwi has a great headstrap and all, it even makes it feel more realistic, which has in turn made me feel more nauseous during games like rec room or gorilla tag, not so much Beatsaber tho

Does anyone know of a video where they show how to properly fit the Kiwi headstrap to the user? I can get it comfortable for about 60 seconds then it either feels too tight on my face or its pressing down too much on the bridge of my nose.
just curious, cause you didn't address it. I have the elite strap, but one of my complaints about it is that the knob that you turn at the back has a wratchet sounding, but the moment you take the headset off, the knob slips and lets the strap retract to a smaller size. I would prefer that you can set it, and it locks at the same position and stays there every time you use it, instead of having to crank the knob EVERY time I put on my headset.

@@JSyntax Yeah... maybe my while is different than yours. I ordered the head strap the day it was available in Amazon de in the beginning of September. I think the first reviewer from USA wrote a review on 6th of September 2021, and I think the head strap has only been out since ~26th of August 2021. I might be wrong though.
I just got this strap, and it definitely is a huge upgrade over the standard strap. My only problem is that the main feature I got this for, the being able to pop it up and down, doesn't quite work for me. When I have it tightened correctly and I try to lift it up, it just jabs into my forehead. I have to loosen the crank before I am able to lift it up and then it sits awkwardly on my head. I really wanted this feature as flipping the visor up was one of the most useful features of other headsets like the Vive Cosmos. Is there some way that I'm not doing that makes this feature easier to handle? It looks so effortless in your video but I'm just having a rough time at it.

The very nice thing for people that have the carrying case is that the kiwi strap can be adjusted to the small head size to fit nicely in the case.

1:16 for some reason, mine doesn't snap into place. It does go in to the place but doesn't snap in, so it falls out quite easily

FYI the KiWi nose blocker isn't at all effective for my face shape, going from a rift s to Q2 it's a shock how much light gets in via the nose

I have the elite strap, but one of my complaints about it is that the knob that you turn at the back has a wratchet sounding, but the moment you take the headset off, the knob slips and lets the strap retract to a smaller size. I would prefer that you can set it, and it locks at the same position and stays there every time you use it, instead of having to crank the knob EVERY time I put on my headset.
I believe it stays locked!

I got this after my elite strap broke and really liked it. Before my Oculus elite strap I had a Halo and didn't like it as much.

I've seen this before but I don't see a way to install the VR Power battery pack to it, does anyone know of any other straps that are compatible with VR Power?
I wouldn't say "very durable material" until I had used this strap for some months at least.
I've had it for a while! It's holding very well and did some bend tests.
@@JSyntax Yeah... maybe my while is different than yours. I ordered the head strap the day it was available in Amazon de in the beginning of September. I think the first reviewer from USA wrote a review on 6th of September 2021, and I think the head strap has only been out since ~26th of August 2021. I might be wrong though.
I just got this strap, and it definitely is a huge upgrade over the standard strap. My only problem is that the main feature I got this for, the being able to pop it up and down, doesn't quite work for me. When I have it tightened correctly and I try to lift it up, it just jabs into my forehead. I have to loosen the crank before I am able to lift it up and then it sits awkwardly on my head. I really wanted this feature as flipping the visor up was one of the most useful features of other headsets like the Vive Cosmos.
Is there some way that I'm not doing that makes this feature easier to handle? It looks so effortless in your video but I'm just having a rough time at it.
Hmmm that's interesting! It's a bit tight to move it, but no issues. Make sure the strap is full seated on your head
