Been playing since before .62, this game has definitely seen its problems but I’m happy to see time and effort is still being put it. Very happy to hear about more cosmetic items being added and all of the fixes and tweaks mentioned in this video. A lot of DayZ modders will show you exactly what people want added into to game. DayZ underground and the DayOne servers have a nice list of mods, especially the cosmetics items and clothes. Thank you for all the hard work on my favorite game❤️

Love all of your changes in updates over past few years you've brought the game to a new level. It would be great to see new load of civilian clothing, trench coats, parkas, different jackets and jumpers 🖤
If you want to inprove base building, you could start by getting rid of those dial combo locks that take way to long to open or close a door, please add code locks how ever you see fit, but the locking system now really sucks, you could also add in different storage options for us to store some loot. Another addition to improve gameplay would be a grouping system, but you have to interact with your friend in person after meeting, then it adds a marker over his head. At the end of the day, this is still a video game, it's not real life therefore things can be unrealistic. So please, better locks, more storage options like gun racks or crates, and a group system. 3 simple improvements that don't seem like much but would bring back so many players to official.
I would like more zombies and more variety in them, they are all of the same type. There is no danger except for the players. Hopefully there will be something in the future.
I would love to see the addition of climbing mechanic and related items - like maybe the addition of portable rope ladders or rope that can be anchored for climbing up and rappelling down, ice axes for steep snowy terrain, etc. Some skis would be great too, while you’re at it! Like cross country type that can increase speed across flat, snowy terrain while allowing you to descend quickly down steeper slopes.
the disconnect issue made me glad to hear it will be fixed , i have had a issue for years with some servers , i launch in to the game but my character has lost the ability to walk/run i can look around and open menu nothing else then after maybe 10-15 seconds i kickes out and gets a messages " battle eye doesnt responding, please try again" and the weird thing is its only on like 2 servers out of 10 so its not every time but on my friends server its happening everytime i try like up to 30 times some days and after a while it working and this issue i have been trying to fix for 2-3 y now i have even been in contact with both battleeye and you also! (i REALY hope that fix the issue) to add om also: i have 1000/1000 network so its really not me! you are awesome guys take care and dont work your health out of you! very important
I don't know if this was a design choice, but currently the first person camera doesn't "roll" with your character, it always stays leveled unless you're in a vehicle that flips. Will you ever go back to the way it was before the new engine where if you leaned the camera would lean with you, and if you rolled the camera would roll? It was so much more immersive.
It would be really cool if you could sustain broken limbs in car accidents opposed to just dying. It would ballance out the lag we are experiencing that is causing accidents that is to no fault of the driver. At least till you sort out the vehicles better. I refuse to use vehicles because they are lag deathtraps even aside from the fact they are bullet magnets. However, It would also create more immersive situations after car wrecks, even more so when other players go and finish off the wounded. Maybe make it a roll of the dice depending on the velocity of the vehicle. And tbh, I'd rather have bug and stability fixes than new assets, so very happy with the new update. Thx for your continued hard work on this awesome game. Been around since the ARMA 2 mod days, so I'm very excited where we are at.
I feel like third person peeking over walls is 80 % solved by this change in third person camera. I hope you can continue working on the collision so that tpeeking through doorways or around corners (like at 10:45) can also be mitigated.
Fixing the car wheel height and gearbox desync. NOT ADDRESSING THE NET CODE AS THE REAL ISSUE!!!!!. We don't need cars server side because the only viable servers are community which HAVE ADMIN TO FIGHT CHEATERS. Bringing back server connectivity icons??? Hey, maybe it's the code and not the servers!!!!!
I haven't played this game since the early access, and one thing that was so annoying is being shot by your own friends or you end up shooting your friends, you have like a mili-second to figure out who is who. Is there a way to tag a friend or friends or have it detect your steam friends list that are on the same server so you don't shoot them, like have your friends have a beacon of some sort, so you know that is your friend.
Been playing since the Arma 2 mod on PC back in the day. It ran at 20 fps on my Lenovo Z575. Used to sit on top of the hospital in Electro with my buddy, waiting to take people out who walked into town. Playing on PS5 these days as a solo. If I could make a few suggestions: Please add NATO scopes compatibility to the M16 and FAMAS. The FAMAS (LE MAS,) is one of my favorite all time guns, but it’s practically unplayable in Day Z due to the iron sights completely blocking your vision. NATO and Russian holographic sights would be nice to see, too. The one thing I’d really like to see is more battle rifles, and military grade sniper rifles, with zeroing and variable zoom scopes. Currently, the only real battle rifle in the game is the FN FAL (LAR.) My suggestion would be the FN SCAR-H (my all-time favorite gun,) a battle rifle with a 20 round magazine chambered in 7.62.
Yeah we're still missing the LMG class, any military grade precision rifles (the Mosin is old, and the SVD is a DMR), we used to have the M14, M24, LRR, M107, AX-50, and used to have and have been shown and promised a return of the PKM and M249.....but they'd rather give us hideous masks that nobody is going to even touch unless they're some type of eunuch. 😅
Bases are stil to easy to rade. Placing a fence kit should be placing one stick and streching the rope at some maximum lenght so to place second stick to wanted location and then the materyal cost needs to calculated by that. It would give the oppertunity to create different lenghts of walls and gates.
Is it possible to have more cosmetic changes to characters as they persist? We already have beards but what about gunshot wounds, scars, dirt, hair growth.
It would be nice to see the driving mechanics fixed as too often you will be driving around only to have your vehicle start glitching out, doing barrel rolls, jump glitching into trees, water, or solid objects or even falling through the map. Please look into that and make the driving run smoother so we stop destroying vehicles due to game glitches and not poor driving. It makes it very hard to drive at any reasonable rate of speed.
1 - This is a game 2 - While I do agree with your statement, i would like encourage you to think about energy burning. I dont think in your scenario you accounted for traversing map at least (Running, Jumping, fighting, building, temperature... all burn Energy) Hope this gives some clarity 👍

Guys at DayZ/BI.....I know there's been talk about changing the layout of NWAF, while I don't agree with this approach and think returning the loot spawns to the towers would be more beneficial to NWAF alone, if you're going to add/change anything about Chernarus Plus it should be 100% FINALLY adding Utes Island Military Compound to the south ocean off Skalisty Island like YOU said you DID many years ago (2015, Devblog, stated "we've heard you guys asking for Utes Island to be added to Chernarus Plus, so we've finally added it, HERE it is, and you'll see it next patch!".....P.S....obviously it never came)..... adding in Utes Island as a large, hard to get to military compound, with say, some NEW rare, only found on the island loot (like the Groza in 9x39, the PKM or M249 we're still waiting on, or the still missing M14, M24, or LRR .408 or a new AWM) would be a fantastic addition to Chernarus, especially since it was literally promised to be actually added and never was.... and think, when you guys finally get around to returning our Little Bird or UH-1 helicopters, clearly Utes Island being a literal airfield you could have one spawn there only, with the needed parts to it (battery, fuel, rotors, glass, ignitors) being spread around the Chernarus mainland making it a huge chore to get all the parts together, making the cold treacherous swim all the way there (still missing boats BTW) and making it out alive with one of the birds.... and of course, the chance on getting a new LMG or military grade precision rifle while there..... nobody cares about these specific masks guys....I think you're all forgetting you never finished returning the leather crafting and leather clothing....it's been like 2yrs now since you "returned" it ... and "it" being just the backpack in one natural colored leather, none of the other pieces or colors or ability to dye or bleach.... come on guys ....do you need someone to remind you daily on what's been said or promised? I can do it for you....$50 a day, I'll write it down with the nonexistent pens and mail it to you. 🙄😅
Character's models are moving too fast. Their movements and the animation of the legs are not synchronized with the ground connection. Please check it.
Are you considering a zombie expansion? It would be nice if it wasn't the walking boots.. it would be nice if some could open doors or run faster... a bit of a challenge.......and as a top bonus add more PvE/crafting elements...
Make the game completely 1st person… this new update makes 3pp useless.. don’t think it helps with white walling either because you can whitewall in 1pp
DayZ is one of my favorite games , who i play daily. But to be honest i think some more work must be done to the Infected. For example ... they can climb and jump over a high fence , but they can do the same over a car trunk or roof . And its easy to stay safe over car or shed. If they actually climb up like you.... will turn the game to another level! Same as the doors... why they cant breach closed doors !? The locked one with lockpick maybe not... but not locked doors ,will be cool to be breached by the Z. I have more than 5k hours and never died by a Z. Aways have ways to stay alive , regardless their number. Hope one day to see more "dangerous" Infected. And talking about dificulty... maybe a SLEEP mechanic to be implemented will be awesome too. If you don`t sleep 24h (in-game time) ... to start slowly hit your max stamina... lowering it till you not drop uncon. (I mention all of this , because i saw this stuff in moded servers , so in theory can be done. But to be honest the base game if implement this "things" over tim... will be even better)
Not touching this until you guys fix the only bug that actually effects the gameplay (gun ads bug). All of these changes are not interesting either because of there already being solutions, don’t like third person cheating then play first person. If you guys wanted to actually improve the pve experience, I would add gore and blood trails to zombies, maybe walking zombies to fresh spawn zones, so much more interesting than copy and pasting boring sfx into the game.
the big russian jacket and hat are awesome on pc, i am jealous can we please have something similar. very cool. and a big robe to go with the hood so we can pretend to be in a cult and sacrifice people when we kidnap them lol

Will never happen, and for lots of good reasons. Maybe in 10 years when there's huge technology improvements, but what would be the point of going through all that effort to make a whole new game that would be largely the same
Be good if they added base building options instead of these stupid masks and stuff we dont actually want. Like what about the modders who are doing amazing work on the games compared to vanilla.ams domt even get me started on consoles who suffer with the vanilla 24/7. Add traders,base building options drying racks for meat etc.. modders do a better job the developers

yea zombies need a bigger role but a bit slower. shouldn’t be as fast as humans but not really slow to make them not a threat

Lots of good bug fixes in 1.20, especially the gearbox desync with vehicles. Thank you, opinions differ but I think this is a great start for 2023! ❤

Small thing however more clothes/ modification to clothing i.e (rolling up sleeves.

In a survival scenario you can go 2+ weeks without food and survive up to 3 days without water…..

Make the game completely 1st person… this new update makes 3pp useless.. don’t think it helps with white walling either because you can whitewall in 1pp

DayZ is one of my favorite games , who i play daily. But to be honest i think some more work must be done to the Infected.
For example ... they can climb and jump over a high fence , but they can do the same over a car trunk or roof . And its easy to stay safe over car or shed. If they actually climb up like you.... will turn the game to another level! Same as the doors... why they cant breach closed doors !? The locked one with lockpick maybe not... but not locked doors ,will be cool to be breached by the Z.
I have more than 5k hours and never died by a Z. Aways have ways to stay alive , regardless their number. Hope one day to see more "dangerous" Infected.
And talking about dificulty... maybe a SLEEP mechanic to be implemented will be awesome too. If you don`t sleep 24h (in-game time) ... to start slowly hit your max stamina... lowering it till you not drop uncon.
(I mention all of this , because i saw this stuff in moded servers , so in theory can be done. But to be honest the base game if implement this "things" over tim... will be even better)
Not touching this until you guys fix the only bug that actually effects the gameplay (gun ads bug). All of these changes are not interesting either because of there already being solutions, don’t like third person cheating then play first person. If you guys wanted to actually improve the pve experience, I would add gore and blood trails to zombies, maybe walking zombies to fresh spawn zones, so much more interesting than copy and pasting boring sfx into the game.
What would be the point in zombies having blood trails?

Will never happen, and for lots of good reasons.
Maybe in 10 years when there's huge technology improvements, but what would be the point of going through all that effort to make a whole new game that would be largely the same

Like what about the modders who are doing amazing work on the games compared to vanilla.ams domt even get me started on consoles who suffer with the vanilla 24/7.
