Grew up with this game, I love it so much. It's such an underrated game, while yes compared to the other paper mario games it is lacking, but still I feel like it doesn't get enough appreciation.
I love TTYD with all my heart, and I still have a lotta respect for Sticker Star. I feel like, if it wasn't for the Paper Mario branding, it could have been a distinctive art piece type of game like LSD Dream Emulator. There's a lot they did right with this game. It's an entirely quirky and unique experience
I remember always being confused because I couldn’t beat the final boss and the checkpoint wouldn’t turn red, even though I beat him like six times as a fifth grader
Amateurs, I tried to beat him 10 times thinking it would do something... WHEN I WAS 7! (it was near launch so there wasn't a lot of videos I could find about this just not having a post-game)
I remember getting stumped on a puzzle, quiting the game, and then coming back 2 months later to figure it out. It took a while, but was satisfying to finally finish this game
This one of the first few 3Ds games i ever played as a kid back when i was 9 to 10. Im 14 now and yes this may be nostalgia talking but i strongly enjoyed the game. The sound track and puzzles were creative and fun. The sound track is the best of it's kind and it took a huge closed eye jump in gaming im happy for it. Yes it doent have a leveling system but thats ok because i hate to deal with the grind.
It's crazy think that your opinion on a game can change so much depending on whether you've played its predecessors and whether or not a game is your first entry to the series. I salute you for your brave honesty in a world of sticker star haters my dude.
Super Felicia but because sticker star is the first paper Mario I played it was wonderful.... it was the first game I played through from beginning to the end.... it was a masterpiece if you don’t have played the prequels..
Hiroki is quite gifted with his variety. He made anime tunes with Post FE12, ACTUAL Fire Emblem songs with FE12 (my love) itself, and jazzy cartoony songs fitting for Paper Mario. I find it funny that PM4 is so bad, that people forget it's the fourth entry in the series. It's much easier to call Sticker Star 'PM4,' if you ask me.
I remember this as one of my favorite games as a kid. I came back toward it in color splash and realized it had been a series of great mario games and this game had “ruined it” by totally being an adventure game instead of an RPG. I love everything I’ve played in the series and I’m about to start super paper MARIO and have already started on the thousand year door, which I love the battle system in and have been totally stopped by something in the giant tree place lol. The game is so much more difficult than SS, and after playing color splash, SS just seems extremely easier than the other games as you need little backtracking and puzzles
In my opinion in the paper mario saga dont have any bad game or at least any game not enjoyable .Sticker star can be a "bad" game but is my favorite on the paper mario saga. Color splash is... very good for having a good time but isnt a good game.The others are pure mastterpieces.
I played this game and beat it along with the other Paper Mario games. Although it felt like a chore playing this game which a game should never feel like, the jazzy music was lovely and eh- bosses were pretty fun. Fighting Bowser was pretty weird since I didn't have a lot of stickers for some reason, so it made the fight much more difficult, and it felt sweet beating him. Most of the time when I played this game I felt isolated without any partners or NPC's. Everyone just hung out in toad town, or on rare occasions having one NPC show up randomly. Kersti felt like a tool, I'd only use her for placing little stickers which was a pretty dumb concept cause you'd have to guess which sticker to place if you didn't know what you were doing. The goat was my favorite part of the game, even if it was just one attack "thing" and nothing special. My biggest complaint about both sticker star and color splash was that there were literally too many toads that I just kept glaring at my screen until something ELSE would show up. Shy guys were my savior, but even those enemies got a bit populated sometimes. I guess if I had to sum up this game with one word it would be: Slipper This game has the beautiful construction of a slipper with its music but you can't really get around to far with it when it comes with the game play and story

Honestly I don’t mind the recent games, I loved Colour Splash and liked Origami King too, not a massive fan of Sticker Star, but it has good moments (the OST for example)
I would want either Nintnedo or someone else to remake this game and not only fix some things (like maybe get more out of battles) but also for the artstyle to look like what was advertised (bassiclly what you see in this video)
Same here, I don't even remember how I got the game, but I played it a lot in elementary school and liked it. The soundtrack is obviously amazing I personally like it more the Origami King OST (about equal with color splash). I will admit the story is a bit lacking, but I think a lot of the levels are designed pretty well (notable levels include Stump Glade and The Enigmansion) and the bosses are fun as well, my personal favorite being the Gooper Blooper because of the battle music.
Game punishes you for actually playing the game. Random battles aren't worth doing as the only thing you get is coins which are plentiful throughout the levels. It's just a bad battle design where the best option is the Run button.
i played this game 9 years ago when i was 8. Now im 17 and this game was amazing. It may not have been as good as other paper mario games. Personally Origami King was my favorite but this game was my childhood and id play this for hours and hours and enjoyed every moment of it. the tricky puzzles always got me and id have to watch some youtube video on how to do something. The soundtracks on this game were amazing and idc what anyone says this game will always be in my top 5 favorite games growing up. So much good memories and everything was made in a humorous way which makes Paper Mario games that much funner to play. Even though the bosses were simple the soundtrack they had when you fought them went so hard.
I'm in the "this game was pretty bland/disappointing" camp, but if there's one thing I _really_ appreciated about Sticker Star, it was that neat reference to Super Mario Land 2's Star Maze theme (if you use the boom box thing).
i am suprised the new skill music somehow survived inside the game files, you'd think they delete that like they did with music for some scrapped areas, events and battles
While this game has its many flaws in terms of gameplay and story, we can all agree that the one thing that stayed consistent within the series in this game and the two following entries was the music.
This game isn't all bad, sure it has major flaws and no story, and they got rid of mario's voice (Like, why nintendo? I understand for Paper Jam, but give his voice back already) but that's not to say it's the worst game EVER, which some people actually said lol Great music, great visuals (especially for 3ds, like it's up there with Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, however that game is ACTUALLY an underrated masterpiece), funny dialogue for the most part, and some genuinely creative game design in some aspects Despite all the drawbacks, there's still enjoyment to be had

To be honest I acttually prefer this game and color splash over the first 3 games as to me I don't really care for RPG's that much as the only thing going for them is the story as about 99.9% of them seem to be batlling enimes and story telling. Also this game and color splash has a great soundtrack problaby another reason I like these tow over the first 3. However my biggest compliant is that once you beat it there really isn't much to do. Also another problem that I have with it is that it's boring sometimes but other than that good game.
Sticker Star and Color Splash's battle mechanics are one of the most boring things i have ever seen in a Mario game, the characters are uninteresting, the gimmicks are a complete trainwreck, the jokes are repetitive, the enemies are generic and the chapters are extremely uninspired. I can understand people having different opinions, but Sticker Star and Color Splash are filled with mistakes, missed opportunities and are weak in comparison to the 3 original games.
Unaware Apathy, if you really look into it, after SS, in color splash, Paint was XP and allies were enemy cards. They made an attempt at restoring the original algorithms but tried to keep some of SS as well
I play Super Mario Sticker Star three hours a day! It helped me quit my smoking, porn and youtube addiction. It cured my crippling depression. I love this game. One of the things I LOVE about it is that it gets rid of those boring RPG mechanics, I also love that they kept it turn based and didn't just make it some crappy action rpg or a fucking platformer! to hell with any sort of challenge! ps 4 hour soundtracks are the best!

I'm in the "this game was pretty bland/disappointing" camp, but if there's one thing I _really_ appreciated about Sticker Star, it was that neat reference to Super Mario Land 2's Star Maze theme (if you use the boom box thing).
Music is used in my self made medal game, Magical Adventure. It's based on Konami's Grand Cross, but with more features and jackpots.

@@majorpeepo lol sometimes in battle Mario can get poisoned or dizzy (I forgot) and it can make the music get really wacky like this.
i am suprised the new skill music somehow survived inside the game files, you'd think they delete that like they did with music for some scrapped areas, events and battles
While this game has its many flaws in terms of gameplay and story, we can all agree that the one thing that stayed consistent within the series in this game and the two following entries was the music.

This game isn't all bad, sure it has major flaws and no story, and they got rid of mario's voice (Like, why nintendo? I understand for Paper Jam, but give his voice back already) but that's not to say it's the worst game EVER, which some people actually said lol
Great music, great visuals (especially for 3ds, like it's up there with Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, however that game is ACTUALLY an underrated masterpiece), funny dialogue for the most part, and some genuinely creative game design in some aspects
Despite all the drawbacks, there's still enjoyment to be had

To be honest I acttually prefer this game and color splash over the first 3 games as to me I don't really care for RPG's that much as the only thing going for them is the story as about 99.9% of them seem to be batlling enimes and story telling. Also this game and color splash has a great soundtrack problaby another reason I like these tow over the first 3. However my biggest compliant is that once you beat it there really isn't much to do. Also another problem that I have with it is that it's boring sometimes but other than that good game.
Sticker Star and Color Splash's battle mechanics are one of the most boring things i have ever seen in a Mario game, the characters are uninteresting, the gimmicks are a complete trainwreck, the jokes are repetitive, the enemies are generic and the chapters are extremely uninspired. I can understand people having different opinions, but Sticker Star and Color Splash are filled with mistakes, missed opportunities and are weak in comparison to the 3 original games.

Unaware Apathy, if you really look into it, after SS, in color splash, Paint was XP and allies were enemy cards. They made an attempt at restoring the original algorithms but tried to keep some of SS as well
I play Super Mario Sticker Star three hours a day! It helped me quit my smoking, porn and youtube addiction. It cured my crippling depression. I love this game. One of the things I LOVE about it is that it gets rid of those boring RPG mechanics, I also love that they kept it turn based and didn't just make it some crappy action rpg or a fucking platformer! to hell with any sort of challenge! ps 4 hour soundtracks are the best!
