    I came here because of Joe from BluMaan. I have always had trouble with my thick wavy hair not doing what I wanted. This method just smooths out my hair, takes away frizz and the waves and makes my hair so much more manageable! I do this with a vented brush though, maybe a flat/paddle brush would do even a better job.

      If all of your hair is wavy you could just apply a moisturizing gel and it'd get rid of frizz, only thing is you'd keep the waves.

    I've watched a ton of videos on youtube on how to style my hair in the past few years, and I'd always get excited and try them out but none of them ever worked on my hair, I actually gave up on my hair and haven't watched any hair styling video in over a year I think. I even thought that the blow dryer that my barber has, is the secret to adding a shine, removing the frizz and getting my hair to stay the same way for an entire day. This technique and the thing you said about continuing to blow dry the hair even if it is not wet made my hair look shiny and not frizzy for the first time ever using my cheap blow dryer.
    Thank you so much.

    This is one of the most releaving videos I've seen, as a cosmetologist/barber, working in a city made up of pretty generic barbershops, it is so common to see barbers just buzz the cowlick down with a 2gaurd because they don't know how to work with it, and then pass that lack of knowledge onto the clients who just now assume they need to cut the cowlick off because they don't have the knowledge. I will be sharing this video everywhere man.

      Your hair loss is unrelated to blow drying unless you’ve been burning your scalp bad enough to damage your hair follicles (3rd degree, basically). As I said in this video, consult your professional if you’re having any issues. They know your hair better than anyone on a screen can.

    • @andrewdoeshair
      @andrewdoeshair  5 років тому +6

      it's very very unlikely that you'd damage hair this short with a hairdryer. There are a billion prestylers on the market that claim to prevent heat damage, if you're worried about it. In the case that you do damage your hair (which is highly, highly unlikely), it's just the ends in 99% of cases, and a trim fixes it.

      Rugved Arge - I have exactly the same thing. I have a very strong cowlick along the the front of my hair. Even when I grow my hair long, it just kind of sticks out. It will never lay flat across my forehead. Unless it’s really long. I just either grow it out long enough so that it lays down. Or I have a style where it’s pushed into the direction of the cowlick. It pretty much removes 90% of hairstyles that you could have. You just gotta have one of the styles that your hair will work with.

      see a qualified professional to walk you through it with your specific head of hair. Heat and tension will straighten and smooth your hair. If it's poofy then you haven't used enough heat or tension. Look into a flat iron if the hairdryer technique is too difficult with your hair. Use a heat protectant if you're worried about damage, and watch my video where I try to burn off hair with a hairdryer if you're still worried (it's really hard to do).

      @@andrewdoeshair i'm an asian dude with stubborn wavy hair and i can corroborate that a flat iron can work wonders to tame poofy hair. if you want volume, the hairdryer is essential. i want the opposite which is to de-poof, so the flat iron is the way to go. thanks for demo-ing on resistant asian hair. subbed!
