    great video sorin .. basic observation on both sides is neccessary after liquid damage i would imagine .. im not a tech by any means and would never insult sorin in his work i've got too much respect for his work ..

    The customer should be charged more for the bq chip upgrade, but he should be given a discount for 2 capacitors that you did not replace.😁

      The BQ chip was a battery monitor? Those are bastards. They cut off the battery if they feel like it, have to be reset through 12C bus, if even possible. Some manufacturers use a nonstandard passkey.

    Great Video. well.. when you have liquid damage.. always inspect both sides of the board.. no fancy tools needed, look for burned looking pins, resistors.. that probably shorting the board...

    I saw a lots of liquid damaged laptops, worked 6 years at repair shop. In case of liquid damage take the board completely out for visual inspection. From the start i was talking to my self "take the board out, take the board out" :)

    Sir, i love your videos but i am wondering why you dont make a visual check in both sides of the motherboard, specifically when you know that it came with a water damage issue?

    Sorin have a question. when you replace a chip is not easier to heat up the board before putting down the chip? this way wont have to apply that much heat straight on the chip.

      You could also replace the old solder with leaded solder.

    What if windows usb installer crashes during booting stage... bios updated, legacy mode disabled/enabled, UEFI disabled/enabled, tried everything but shows only windows logo in split of a second then goes crashing, couldn't even reach recovery mode...couldn't even load a new OS.... could it be a hardware issue? Kindly, I need help. Thanks!

      yes why ? this is boot strap and must be changed.mybe it is not burn becuse if it burn it cuses Huge problems

    Am un laptop destul de performant de gaming de la Asus model G513QY, pe platforma AMD, , care e “mort”.
    Suspectez din ce urmăresc de la tine ca e vorba de mosfet-urile ce alimentează procesorul ori cipul grafic dedicat

    Ti-l pot trimite in vederea unei reparații ?

    We’re the shorted capacitors in the bios voltage circuit? We saw a short on pin 8 of the bios chip before you removed the three capacitors. Was the BQ chip definitely bad? What would happen if you
    re-soldered the old one back after removing the 3 shorted capacitors? Would it still work?

      No main voltage with old BQ chip, which is present with new one even without replacing shorted capacitors.

    You forgot to say the liquid damage we found on the keyboard side of the motherboard and 3 shorted capacitors preventing the computer from turning on. And the white light when the A.C. Adapter is plugged in.
