Your smile, your voice are different and what makes them different is that you are with your son. I have watched enough videos to know and that is just the way it should be. As a viewer there is also a difference right in our hearts. ♥️👍
Was it Rita that was at bunyan? I believe thats who we met in the Ripsaw tent right after talking to you. What a great young woman, she was so nice to us, complete strangers and to have a conversation with me and my girlfriend, you are great people. Thank you buckin, for lending me some of your time that morning, and for everything else, your family is as much to blame as you my friend, without them behind you, a guy couldnt make it happen.
Yesterday was my birthday as well. It was an amazing day God bless buckin. Can't wait till you're back on the stump. Heal up, my friend, take your time.
Wow that family pic at 9:36, It is crazy how much rita looks like her mom and Hogan looks just like his dad. Also got a good giggle at 2:56, reminded me of my pops... It's a skill to let one rip and carry on a conversation with a strait face haha 😆. Glad to see you and your family are well buckin!
Happy birthday to Rita! Buckin, I have learned that smaller saws have many limitations. I think that your answer to the email was great. Another reason why the saw may be stopping in the cut is that it is getting pinched. I have a small saw that automatically stops when it senses the slightest pinch
Happy belated birthday Rita! ...Hogan, the beard looks good buddy👍 ... Buckin, I'm really looking forward to seeing videos of you & your son working together 💪💪🪵🪓✝️☮️😊
Auto exposure,is a feature found in cameras and imaging devices that automatically adjusts the exposure settings (such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO sensitivity) to achieve optimal brightness and contrast in a photograph or video. This ensures that the image is neither too dark nor too bright, but rather properly exposed. Or a good picture.
I have the Stihl400C and absolutely love it. But I also have a MS260 and MS 660. The 400C is a great saw for running a 20 inch bar. I'm from New Zealand and our fuel is 3 times the price of your fuel in the US. So there are big savings here from running a smaller saw in smaller wood. It's horses for courses.
We feel the pinch... Smaller wood smaller saw Went from years of plug in electric saws (close to houses and power) to now a battery Stihl, she's a skinny little weakling like me. Have an old 025 with 18" bar for my backup muscle. I buy the premixed fuel in a can because i don't run the gas saw very often.🌲♻️🍀
Thank you buckin for all you do I’ve just started watching your channel and you have shown me so much i love you brother god bless you and your family thank you so very much
He's looking wicked with wisdom... Such a legacy his father has put in front of him, gotta be a stickler to live up to that. Hogan you may come from an odd neighborhood but your parents are super cool. With the luck of the draw you and Rita are true royalty, not that dude they call the king of England. Hope to, maybe, possibly, perhaps see you at The Paul Bunyan show the end of the summer...👍
Just got myself a nice old 365 special today. Honestly for under 16 inch wood I think I prefer a 365 vs a 372, they rev up so nice. As a Stihl guy I can say the old school 372 and 365 huskies are awesome
Many happy returns Rita 🥳 , it doesn't seem that long since the 16th birthday video , time flies ! It's my birthday tomorrow but it's a long time since I was 21 😁
Hey buckin! Brett here from the mountain State West Virginia! Absolutely love your content my man! I come from a long line of West Virginia wood Hicks so this channel is one of my favorites! And I love how you are always keeping a positive attitude! The drum work was nice as well! God bless you and yours and try and keep warm up there in the Great Wild North!
Tell Ms Rita belated Happy Birthday. It's good to spend time with family and especially when the two of you can work together like you and your son do at times. I've been using my dad's old MS 390 for a while now and you answered my question in my mind about the "Dawgs". I've been sharpening my chainsaw chains like I've learned from you and have noticed that ya don't take a hard bite because it'll stall out. Thanks for the information Buckin Billy Ray. God bless from Northeast Alabama
Have a Stihl MS 400 and i am very lucky with it. I think that there is a chainsaw for every area of application. For me the 500 was to heavy, i think that the 261 or 550Xp would have been enough for me, but i decided to go a little bit stronger, which is mor than enough for me. The 400 is between the 362 and 462. It revs very quickly and the torque is good, i will take a few tanks to break in. I use a 16" and 25 inch (good enough to stand up and buck) on it. In my little forest the trees do not go over 25inch diameter. And i lke the sound of the chainsaw.....
I have a 400c with a 20inch bar it works great for everything a 20 inch bar can handle. For bigger stuff I will be cutting in the future I will be getting a 592xp.

Thanks for the video. Finally caught an old episode of Ax Men. Hogan sure is growing up into a fine young man. Love his hair! Keep the vids coming. Good words are always welcome.
Happy Birthday Rita! I love my 400c but I know its limitations, under 25”. Bigger stems require my 462 that pulls I little bigger than it’s cc’s. Hey, Buckin! Love wins.
Congratulations on the new wheel mobile brother!! I’m happy for you!! I have been thinking about a nicer run around truck for a while now….. A shiny new run around truck doesn’t revoke your “Man Card” when you have fully earned it in the trees and at home with your family. Your Man Card has been fully earned and paid off at this point. Enjoy it a bit! :D
Watching Hogan go from a green horn to seasoned arborist has been one of the coolest things iv seen. My two boys and I watched yall on axe men tv show ,guess what they wanna do when they get older.

Is the maple frozen? I'm running a little 562 in a big maple at 24 inches and I'm asking a lot when it's frozen. Stalls all the time. When it's thawed it works ok. The spikes are nice to keep the wood from rubbing holes in the case and muffler abuse. My Stihl 361 would eat that tree alive. It just has more torque. Id clean the rails and check for burs and maybe toss a new chain on
Buckin hey hope to get some guidiance with my new 395. I also am having my wifes johnny 125 fixed my 455 ranch and older 372 keep up the work and keep working the shoulder. Peace brother and hooe to get some help with the big saw and hard leaners
2 Minutes into the video, and I remember the first car my dad bought. It was a Mercedes-Benz 170 V from the late 40s, and it was his working car. Had a leaky radiator for a few weeks because he couldn't afford to fix it, and he took that car everywhere. We went on family trips on the weekend and stop at little creeks along the roadside to refill the radiator a few times. Ah yes, the good old days 🙃 I loved that car

I started with a 372 then went to a 066. Those were the days😊. Loved the 372 but the 066 was well balanced with a whole load more power for what we were cutting down. I did go to the 395 but to heavy. Shucks i don’t even know if they make them anymore😅
Are you paying for the dgp oil or did you get it free..just curious as its ridiculously expensive here and dont feel its any better than the 15.99 itasca i use..

Never thought an email would’ve resulted in a video! Thank you so much for your presence and for passing along your knowledge to those of us who are still a little green.. thanks again!
Seth, don't give up the 400, I have many big saws and my 400 with West coast Dawgs, bark box, and 25 inch Sugi hara bar will cut just as fast as any of them. The 500i is definitely more powerful, buy not by much in my opinion, keep using it and try different chains, mine likes the Oregon EXL, as long as I don't file the rakers too low.
@@tonymiles3106 I couldn't agree more, sorry Buckin but your way off on this advice bud, you keep calling the 400 a small saw, it's 67cc man lol, the 572 is only 3 more cc's! If you're running it right that 400 should have no problem whats so ever cutting big maple at all! We all can't be givin a 500i ha! and a 400 is cheaper, lighter and almost as good if you are running it right! You got this Seth with what you have, check your chain sharpness and raker heights and if you have to, go to a less aggressive chain depending on the length of bar your using, also try cutting half the log and switch sides to work through the rest, you may have to switch sides a few times.
Seth-man... pretty gosh darn special when ol Buckin is talkin straight at ya... And t' be quite honest with ya....it was a super thrill for me when Buckin first said my name, recognized me.... Wow, he's definitely the rock star of the wood world...✅✅✅
I don't believe BBR said what size bar you were using on the 36" Maple. If you are running a longer bar then the 400 came with? I would suggest maybe trying a skip tooth chain also. They are an awesome chainsaw but every saw has its limits and sweet spots!
Oh buckin..you hit a little problem I found yrs back when I ordered the tempered ones from rich and run em on 460 stihl 25” bar and something to do with that bottom dawg angle with short bars causes it to dig n super hard to point it stops instantly…seems like 32” and 36” in bigger wood it didn’t do it…either way you hit nail on the head bout size of saw vs size of tree..took those dawgs off and factory stihl large work best..especially ones on 880..ran a 026 16”..then 18”..then a 20” full 3/8s in Ky hardwood for yrs startin out and learned to keep er sharp and let it work…my handle used to be different but Ive been round since me, you lipripper and cinthinator was it in comments…matt in ky..✌🏻
Also guys…. The groundhog says we got an early spring coming. I know that makes all of us feel good around here. I feel a page turning and ready for spring and new adventure.
cameras come equipped with an "Auto Exposure" function that will automatically calculate the exposure value and control the aperture value and shutter speed for you.
@BuckinBillyRaySmith actually I'd leave it on. You were moving. You had the bright gray sky and dark for ground where you were. The camera is just trying to compensate for the different exposures as you were walking. If it was on a tripod it would be stationary and wouldn't have to compensate for the different lighting.
A higher ISO setting makes the sensor more sensitive to light, allowing for brighter images to be captured in low-light conditions. However, increasing the ISO sensitivity also introduces more digital noise or graininess into the image. Conversely, a lower ISO setting reduces sensitivity to light, resulting in darker images but with less noise. Photographers adjust the ISO setting based on the lighting conditions and the desired balance between image brightness and noise.
Buckin, is bear claw still around? I’ve heard you speak of him lots and he seems like a very knowledgeable man on logging. Do you think he would come on the channel just to tell some stories about what it was like when he got started in the business and how things developed from there? Bear claw story time would be real cool.
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith I can respect that. Not everyone wants to be on UA-cam. Maybe one day if he’s up to it, you could “interview” him and not show him on camera. Just audio only. Would be cool to hear from him.
Keep the love spreading Billy!!! Got something in the works for everyone this year! All thanks to you.

You are a dude I would love to meet. Deep thoughts, humour, kind... Just like me. And a little into the logging myself too...
Happy birthday Rita
Good to see Hogan 👍!
Hey Buckin, I thought I heard a buck snort when you were talkin about the 400C
not sur , perhaps
Also guys…. The groundhog says we got an early spring coming. I know that makes all of us feel good around here. I feel a page turning and ready for spring and new adventure.
right on
cameras come equipped with an "Auto Exposure" function that will automatically calculate the exposure value and control the aperture value and shutter speed for you.
ill turn it off
@BuckinBillyRaySmith actually I'd leave it on. You were moving. You had the bright gray sky and dark for ground where you were. The camera is just trying to compensate for the different exposures as you were walking. If it was on a tripod it would be stationary and wouldn't have to compensate for the different lighting.
It does make sense that if the camera is stationary THAT feature will perform better. ✅
I work for Stihl and they have actually been putting the wrong sprocket on the 400 c. They have been putting the 7 in when the saw needs an 8
Good insight on that one 👍🤨
The 7 should give it more torque...An 8 would make his current issues even worse!
Buckin, is bear claw still around? I’ve heard you speak of him lots and he seems like a very knowledgeable man on logging. Do you think he would come on the channel just to tell some stories about what it was like when he got started in the business and how things developed from there? Bear claw story time would be real cool.
never no andy
Wood be super cool to have Bearclaw in the bunker for one story...we all got at least one story 🕯️♻️🍀🌲
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith I can respect that. Not everyone wants to be on UA-cam. Maybe one day if he’s up to it, you could “interview” him and not show him on camera. Just audio only. Would be cool to hear from him.
Wow super cool
Hogan style
Real man
Love ya
Nice to see Hogan again!
If you are considering buying the 400 might as well buy the 462 not much more expensive but its a better saw overall.
