Nothing need to be said. Seagal career is 6 Ft under. Bruce maybe 6 ft under, but he is still shining his star In Hollywood and Hong Kong. No one can dispute that.

JCVD WAS PISSED CRAZY FOR HOURS AFTERWARDS BUT EVERYBODY LAUGHED AND WENT BACK TO DOING WHAT THEY DO AT HOLLYWOOD PARTIES. Frank Stallone and my uncle are both friends and members of the Sons of Italy Organization and my uncle was invited by Frank and my uncle was cool enough to take me along I was 21 or 22 at the time but I was there and disappointed in my admiration for segal. If he had said to stallone or anybody period " Hey Im leaving I didnt come here to fight or I dont wish to fight or even My Mothers sick I gotta go" it would have been profoundly different atleast for me in my view of segal but he didnt say a word to anyone just left and thats what they all laughed at for about an hour after he split including both Stallones and my Uncle Salvatore I think the only ones not laughing was JCVD because he wanted to kick his ass so bad thats all he talked about for hours after and the coke he did kept him going like that and me I didnt laugh because he was the reason my uncle took me so maybe I could meet him and talk with him because I just discovered Aikido and he was the first american to be recognized as a master. I dont know anything about a club challenge but I saw and heard all that took place at stallones party and its all sadly true about segal

Bruce was untouchable when he was living, he was challenged many times and always either invariably defeated all his challengers or taught them a lesson. He was criticized and down-sized by no man...as soon as he passed, every ordinary run-of-the-mill wannabe martial artist and even many of the reputable ones began to either defame him or disrespect his prowess, accomplishments, name and legacy and that is the most cowardly any man can be.
yes, this is truth. I would say though, that likely there were those who could have beaten him, but would be against their nature to challenge him. In other words, it's probably not wrong what Mr. Segal said, but it was wrong that he said it.

indeed, he was not only a great artist, a great martial artist, a philosopher, a film-maker, and writer but he also could be considered as the father of Kick-Boxing, father of MMA, brought the modern routine for work-out with protein shakes and many other new types of equipment for fitness and training.
He was constantly evolving even though he was already levels ahead of everyone else at what he did.
He had truly obtained the mindset of evolving and learning something each day to better himself.
No telling how great of a filmmaker he would have been along with changing the way contact sports are today.
If he were here then there might as well not have been an era of sex, drugs and rock & roll because youth would not have been attracted to that.
Everyone who saw his movies was smitten by his charm and could not resist his personality.

If you watch “Enter the Dragon” Lee really projects himself. His warmth and his caring of people really comes across in that movie.
In my opinion, Seagal was a Hollywood Black Belt. A true Black Belt would never make that statement about the greatest artist of our generation especially when he is gone. Discipline also includes controlling your mouth in which Segal is a White Belt.

If Steven Seagal was secure within himself as a man and a martial artist, there would be NO reason for him to lower Bruce Lee, who, by the way, was a truly dedicated disciple, teacher and master of his own destiny and craft. I've sometimes wondered if Steven makes such thoughtless and arrogant comments to bring attention to himself as well as for others to bring praise to him as is still being done with great admiration,love and respect to the name of Mr. Bruce Lee. Mr. Lee will forever be the reigning champion and king of his craft and a genuine motivating inspiration for every walk of life and to future generations to come whilst Steven's name gradually fades.

To me a ridiculous question to begin with. There are many great grand masters that have never been seen or heard of before. The Shaolin Masters to me come to mind. Trained each day in not only their skills fighting but every type of weapon imaginable. Trained from a small child and continue well into old age. I think you would find that the best ever was one of these monks.....I began martial arts in 1971 and still involved today. The Green Hornet and the show Kung Fu were my influence to begin martial arts. I do have to admit, Bruce Lee was and always will be my hero!

Bruce was the best we know of...... though the possibility of some (in the past, now or later) better always does exist . Bruce will always be the best that I've seen....and heard. To me Bruce would rise ( if not the best ) to be the best because he was so good that he was constantly by the second growing better than what he previously was......maybe without being consciously aware of it at all times because of his will or want that was so deeply engrained within him. He would become the best right then and there....wherever "there" is....

Just think for a moment how young he was, and how UNFINISHED he was with his martial art evolution. He died way too soon and not at his TOP prime. It is still a mystery how good he'd be had he not been murdered. His physical conditioning was still in test mode and not even complete. One could say Bruce Lee was training to reach Super Saiyen level on a mortal scale. He got murdered and now we are all, basing his greatness on a LOW LEVEL BRUCE LEE that was already a BEAST. Now lets stop and wonder what he'd been had he not died? Imagine the finished, the completed Lee with fully completed Jeet Kune DO version 5.0.

I agree which his approach. You do not have to tear one man down to show how much respect you have for another.
I enjoy segal's movies, and he has skills, but Bruce Lee had a charisma, style and magnetism; a self belief that took my breath away in the early 80's. His ideas really opened up martial arts and cross training. His philosophy reached many, promoted through his movies. A true great! Loved the way he moved, and how it changed through his short period in films! Would love to have seen it continued.

A 30year history of films is not a footnote. And Segal was also, like Bruce, known as a fighter. The difference is that Segal actually stayed true to his original martial art and became VERY highly ranked.

Bruce Lee was undoubtedly one of the greatest martial artists of all time and if Bruce had lived until 2018 Bruce would have eventually been defeated but Bruce would go on to study that person who beat him and would go on to defeat the person who defeated him...that's how good Bruce was.

Let me put it to you this way.. Bruce Lee's skill as a martial artist was so significant. He has not been forgotten. Chuck Norris was defeated by Bruce Lee in real life. He was always at the time Bruce was alive quoted as praising Bruce Lee for his power and speed. A skilled Martial Artist never admits defeat and feels they are invincible. This is the nature of a serious artist. Everything we do as most practitioners are followers after what Bruce Lee made popular. Bruce's Skill was otherworldly.

Listen The were plenty of behind the scene fights that were real via people who was there. Some said Bruce would fight anyone who challenged him off camera, and guess what. He won all of those fights. My father actually trained with Bruce lee and his master and has photos of all three of them together. And he has told me of the matches that happened in training that were other schools that Bruce had won. He was the real deal outside of movies and people who really knew him know. Peace everyone.

I just lost a lot of respect for Steven Seagal. How someone can say that the late great Bruce Lee wasn't the even close to being the greatest martial artist of all time is far beyond me. All the hype that Bruce Lee came onto the martial arts and T.V. scene with, the man clearly lived up to and much more. The man forever revolutionized the world of martial arts, not to mention that he paved the way for a lot of other martial artists including Steven Seagal whether he wants to admit it or not. And there's a boatload of martial artists who wished they could even be just one tenth as skilled as Bruce was. Also, Bruce Lee showed and proved to the world how effective his skills were. And I've yet to see one martial artist who can even come close to matching Bruce Lee's level of martial arts excellence. And given the fact that Steven Seagal clearly isn't one of them, makes his negative opinions about Bruce's skills not only ignorant, but therefore invalid. And Steven's in no position whatsoever to try and say that Bruce Lee wasn't close to being the best. Many people worldwide still honor and respect Bruce Lee, and his popularity hasn't at all diminished. He's still the most respected actor and martial artist now as when he was still alive. Chuck Norris, who is the most tournament wins of any martial artists starts and is a legitimate name as one of the greatest tournament fighters said that if Bruce Lee had competed in tournaments he would have beaten him. So one of the greatest fighters ever says Bruce Lee was the best. Steven Seagal never competed in a tournament and would be considered a rank amateur on the circuit. Don't know about anyone else but I would take Chuck Norris' opinion, one of the greatest fighters ever on the tournament circuit, against someone who never competed and we only have his word that he is a great fighter. (who also chickened out twice when Van Damme challenged him after he was bragging at a party about how he could beat him).

He might not have been thee greatest of all time, but to you & me and millions of people he sure was the closest thing to that ideal.
