      absolutely - a breeze to sail, comfy, and a great attention getter wherever you park her.

      The marina fees are very reasonable and you can do all the maintenance yourself. Plus, you can day sail with just you and a friend. Single-handing might be a bit of a challenge, tho...

      absolutely! Specially if you plan some single handed cruising...

      Ignore the other facetious comments in this thread.
      This is a boat that you'll quickly grow into, which leads me to think that, budget allowing, you may want something a little bigger, perhaps a full 100' maxi, or a foiling AC 75.
      In saying that, if you only intend on occasional use with the wife and young kids, and don't have the time for regular sailing, this boat would likely meet your needs right now.

    Engine runs full time 🤔
    Sailing?
    How do I réconciliateur that... or am I too old school?

    • @skyak4493
      @skyak4493 5 років тому +2

      My thought exactly. Basically, having an engine provide power is standard for all the swing keel racers, which is annoying in that they now hold all the "monohull records". Even the current America's cup has broken down and added an engine -and then they go and limit the control ->kookoo!
      I don't hate that the super rich commission these boats but I think it is critical that we not confuse the great accomplishments of past sailors and designers that only used wind and man power! Personally I think these swing keelers should be raced against the foilers, and multihulls without engines.

      @spikeypineapple552 5 років тому

      skyak don’t really understand this, there’s context required. The translation record, which is held by Comanche, was done with all manpower.

    • @skyak4493
      @skyak4493 5 років тому +1

      @@spikeypineapple552 Are you sure about that? I suppose it is possible, they didn't tack much, but it is considered unsafe for a boat that size to sail without the ability to tack or gybe at will. If they don't use an engine but have the ability to store manpower I have more respect for their achievement. I still don't think swing keels compare to fixed.
      The major races require swing keelers to have engine power because there is no safe way to maneuver without it. Right of way violations have decided major races. To carry sufficient manpower would weigh too much.
      BTW the top end programs run fuel cells -likely Comanche.

      @@skyak4493 Comanche has now been converted to motor based hydraulics, but all the records it set before it was sold to Jim Cooney were done purely with human power. That's why it needed such a big crew.

    Thank you sow much for your advice and time, actually I told my husband that he had 18 years off his life going fast and I still let him go fast 14 more. He still wants to go fast, bud i almost 50 and I am tired of the jennau swinging all over the place, sow I decided I just want to cruise the caribean in a floting apartment. Yes my 11 year old daugther its a pro for sailing,actually my daugther is the real capting off the ship, haha you shoul see her. And yes whe have a mexican captain that works the nigth sheeft from 8 pm to 8 am.,On long trips. Thanks a lot for your advice love your show.

      You Made the right choice. The 3 mono hulls you asked about would not be able to anchor in the shallow water that your family will enjoy most, and the monos often roll, even at anchor. Your husband gave up his fast monohull for one female in the family, he can still conspire with the other to get one that he can carry along 'for your daughter'.

    Help me out. Cant decide betwen a Hanse 675, hylas H70, an a X 65. Which one is the fastest. I now that the hylas is blue water ready, wich one is stiffer??? Of the 3. I now that when i am ready, i am sailing from san diego to hawaii. I want to feel safe to.

    • @skyak4493
      @skyak4493 5 років тому +2

      They are all blue water boats. In the hands of talented crews, the X65 can go faster, but that doesn't really matter because they all race by rating -a handycap for boat capability. If you don't have a race ready crew, I would suggest getting the boat that is easiest to sail well -the Hylas 70 IMHO. Hanse 675 is also very nice if you want something 'lighter'.

      Patricia Munoz why on earth are you thinking about buying a 65 foot yacht, so sail double handed, while asking for advice on UA-cam? For that sort of money you need to get someone to help you out...

    • @skyak4493
      @skyak4493 5 років тому +2

      @@patriciamunoz5604 All three boats are 4X what you 'need' for your family to sail. If you are heading out across oceans you would want to bring a professional captain -two capable captains (I presume your husband is one) for safe redundancy, a pro to do all the stuff that is simply beneath people who can afford such boats. And yes the Hylas is the safest push button sailboat of the group. At this level it's all about how reliable that press of the button is.
      If you are not planning to head out over oceans, more inclined to sail around a few plush locations, the Hanse is capable, more stylish, and they have an owner trade program so you can sail the Med, the Caribbean... without the time and hassle of crossing oceans.
      The last thing I will say is that these three boats are not commonly compared. The primary competitor to the Hylas is a Hallberg Rassey, the Hanse competes with Swan....
      And if you just want fast, easy to sail, easy living, multihulls are likely the way to go.
