  • @macci9202
    @macci9202 3 роки тому +524

    1. Practicality over looks
    2. Keep Straight lines as straight as possible
    3. Provide extra parking space
    4. Don't repair cracks too early (Wait 3 to 4 years)
    5. Invest in insulation
    6. Know where the water is going (Make sure all slopes are going down the drain)
    7. Minimize the number of floors and stairs
    8. Make the masters bedroom as big as possible
    9. Consider the path of the sun
    10. Expect mistakes. Don't expect everything to be perfect

      Consider it as a guideline Not a rule.
      Example:
      1. Practicality of looks. A large portion of his house walls are made of glass though looks modern but impractical with our tropical weather. He basically voilated his 1st rule.

    I hope to see a video about insulating a house with the right practices and materials, especially for those that were already built and/or are more than 15 to 20 years old, from extreme heat. There are still houses out there where they just never knew what roof insulation does and how it will make their daily life MORE comfortable than just filling the house with electric fans. :3

    Hi there you are doing great! in all the houses i build back in the Philippines (i build more or less all rigid tropical style houses) on our properties and what i did is ..i made comfortable scale models of all of them, to see their functionalities, practicalities ..performances in sun travel, natural lights / shadows and some even for the rain water impact ... this will give you a very considerable help to understand, how it will perform and how it will be eventually when you are in the new build. This will not take you too much of effort and even gives you sort of pleasure once its done.

    We have a tiny home in progress in Daanbantayan. The layout is based on flow and practicality, it's how I would use the house as a solo parent with 3 young kids, also mainly because the budget for this house is what you would probably spend on insulation alone. It's very tiny. But the tips you gave are very helpful. I know your projects are high end, but would you do a budget build review or tips? Like really budget friendly. I literally planned everything down to the last window based off You Tube videos. Just trying to get this dream home done while making ends meet. I hope there weren't too many mistakes in the plans. 😭
