Awesome companion Bryan. You alluded to the slicey GB2 and I concur. One thing I notice with the PM2 is that it slices much better towards the tip due to the pronounced distal taper. The big belly of the blade encourages the blade to slide towards the thicker portion of the blade, which cuts less efficiently I also find cardboard can bind up in the enlarged hole. It’s probably my technique but I don’t have those issues with the GB2: big flat portion, hollow grind and thin behind the edge, smaller spider hole. It just cuts better and has bank vault build quality. I think it’s a superior tool to the PM2 but the PM2 is a better pocket knife (lock, ergos, fidget factor) for most people.
The GB2 tip isn’t really any thicker than the pm2. And I’m the opposite when it comes to flicking. I have a much easier time middle finger flicking it than thumb flicking
The GB2 has a sharpening choil . It's interesting that a knife designed to be a hardcore cutting tool doesn't have a lanyard hole . Do you think that GB is onto something ?
I'm starting to think Tai-Chung Spyderco's are overhyped. If they are so much better...how is it they put out the GB2 with scales that don't extend to the edges? Bit odd design decision...couldn't be too comfortable to grip hard... And IMHO no one really needs a "slicer"...I would have gone with the PM 2 too...IF it had a sharpening choil...major drawback ...why I don't own any Spyderco's ...yet...
Sliceman- Peel ply is a pattern of CF. Not the same as a laminate. I call Spydercos with no pass through for disengagement thumb diggers. A mistake made on several Spyderco knives. While I think the GB2 is one of the better looking Spydies (is there such a thing?), I'd go with with the PM2., which I believe is the only must have Spyderco.
Five years later and prices shot up to 220. Just got a Bradley 2. But I have a bunch of pm2 in many different steels

Miss you're. Reviews hope all is well
I agree with you on your final conclusion. I’ll always be a huge fan of the PM2; it’s just the perfect edc in my opinion.

I'm lucky enough to have both. I couldn't pick a fave either. I lean to cruwear for better corrosion resistance.
How bout the para 3 vs. Sage 5? 👍
If I ever get a Sage 5 to play with...
@@SliceyDicey you got one now hihi
@@jacksonperocfrenchzfourtou4283 Pretty sure I did that video awhile back now.

That gb2 looks class up the ass though, looks like the centofante.
I assume that "class up the ass" is a good thing?
Slicey Dicey yes lol, it's nice and clean, could qualify and gentleman folder maybe?
Almost! A bit big for that, but it has some class.

Pick damn it!! This is "battle to the dearh"" there has to be a clear champion!!! I pick the pm2!!!!
Sometimes things are equal... Like I said, I'd probably personally, keep the PM2 if I could keep only one but it would depend on the day I was asked.
That para 2 for sale yet?
Nope. I use it for size comparisons and what not. Probably never will be.
With 940s the best value is the dealer exclusives
Idk why but the gb2 looks really ugly to me
