is it still possible to learn the art of crafting sarong kebayas from Madam Ean? i'm from singapore and have been fascinated by the beauty of the sarong kebaya since young thanks to my grandma who was also very interested in the peranakan culture and has even said that she has made a kebaya as well!! i also have the same sewing machine and am really interested in wanting to continue this tradition even though i am not a peranakan. i would spend my whole holiday learning how to make it!! and possibly go to her shop in penang after the covid 19 shop just to learn from her
I bought my first kebaya nyonya from Kim just before I left Malaysia to further my studies abroad. That was almost 15 years ago. I came back to Penang, to get more kebaya from Kim but the boutique is no longer in Gurney Plaza. Can anyone tell me if they've moved location. Thanks!
Keep the legacy and tradition in the midst of modernity.....that's precious 💕💕💕
I ever learnt kebaya nyonya with late madam Lim Swee Kim... she's so humble person n so patient when she teaches us.....😢😢😢😢

Hi Dayana, Welcome home to Penang. I understand Kim Kebaya is still operating from 41 Cheeseman Road.
I am also still doing an original nyonya kebaya embroidery.
