- Hi guys in this video I want to show you how to create a hammered copper pendant. I will cover how to make individual components, how to hammer the wire, how to assemble the components and set gemstones. It's a fun little pendant to make so I hope you enjoy! Beautiful design and very well explained tutorial! Thanks for sharing ALL of your many tips throughout the video, especially the one about wedging a small piece of wire between areas that are difficult to thread wire between. This will definitely come in handy!

This design will be a great way to use up some tumbled stones that aren't suited for traditional bound frames
Absolutely. The 'swirl' part of the pendant can be different shapes to accommodate uneven stones.
Thank u so much, the design is soo Fantastic! I already bought all the materials and really want to make it.
But could you please give me a clue - i try to hammer 1,6mm wire, but i really fail to do that. The wire is flattening really, really, really slow, even if i hammer it with all my strength, it become just a little bit square, but thats all.
Maybe the matter is i don’t have an anvil, may that be the reason? I use steel plate as a surface to hammer on.
Or - it is ok that it is flattening sooo slowly, and i just have to take a couple of hours to do that?
I would be so grateful for your advice. I can buy an anvil, but i’m not sure that it will help me, so your help will be so valuable.
Hm, what kind of wire are you using? Certain metals, such as brass are harder than copper but should still 'flatten' out. Copper is really soft and should flatten out well. You need a chasing hammer and a solid surface that doesn't 'bounce'. A steel plate should do the trick but if it's very thin, the hammer blows may be absorbed if it's placed on a soft surface and thus not be as effective. Try to direct the hammer blows in the direction you want the wire to flatten out. Hope this helps!

Where do you get your inspiration from? I love making jewelry but prefer wire weaving and wrapping So much more than sewing beads, I've only just come to that conclusion. I need to find a good wire company to buy my wife, can you recommend? Thank you so much for you inspiring videos. I'm learning something from every video.
I agree, I really like wire weaving and fabricating as well! As for designs, I pick the stone first, then draw an idea around it. There is a ton of inspiration on pinterest to draw from if you are in a slump :)

I'm new to this and at a loss - I purchased 14 ga copper wire and tried to hammer it out like you did and it doesn't flatten what am I doing wrong ??????????????
It could be a number of things. You may need to find a harder surface and hit a little harder. If you are trying to hammer, say on wood or any other 'soft' surface the wire blows are diluted. It also depends on your hammer. If it is a nylon hammer the wire won't budge. It could be so many reasons. Without seeing how you hammer it's difficult to determine what the problem could be.

Hi there, you mean the steel block? You can get it on Amazon, ebay, etsy or even most craft websites :)
Where do you get your diamond shaped small stones
You can get these on ebay. This particular stone is a 5 mm cubic zirconia. If you search for diamond cut gemstone or round cubic zirconia you should find some.
