Reviving an Abandoned 1973 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow

- In 2022 I bought this 1973 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow that had been forgotten and sitting in storage since 2014 with the express goal of not only getting it back on the road but restoring well enough to take it to the 2024 Hunt Country Classic All British Car Show. This is that story. Special thanks to Walt, Donnie and Paul for Sundays :)!

Beautifully done. Thank you for saving this work of art.
Thanks for your kind words. I'm looking forward to better weather so I can take it back out on the road again :)
Beautiful
Thanks!
Gegoreous report, I loved it! You did the editing very well, I liked the story of the Parkertex interior. I am not sure that this interior is NOT factory.
Thanks so much! It took me forever to edit lol. On the interior it does very much look factory BUT if thats the case then the build sheet is wrong as it specifies blue leather 3244. I couldn't find any reference to a change to cloth at all going through the paperwork. There is one note though that says its to be built to page 16 issue 13 of the Special Vehicle Requirements brochure but I have yet to find a copy of that brochure.
@@MidnightRoadGarage I can have a look - itf this brochure is in fact the same thing as what I have in my archive. They issued a sort of bulletin from the factory which shows the changes over the years.
@@RRudolf88 very cool please let me know. I did find this www.rrsilvershadow.com/EKleur/Kleur9.htm and my car is not listed but that is the same material for sure. Looks like U0016-60
@@MidnightRoadGarage Rijkers lists those cars which have been reported to him with this material. What made me think is the phrase "no aftermarket conversions" which imples that they were existant. But let me check my bulletin first.
@@MidnightRoadGarage I have looked in my book, but it does not show any "special vehicle requirements' - what I have is the service bulletin from 1972 to 1975 (TSD 2933). Do you have a TSD number for your document as well?
Your footrests - did they come with this car or are they a later addition? Next question: is there leather underneath the cloth?
So far as I know they came with it. No leather to be found anywhere in the car but the build sheet from the group in England says blue leather in a couple places.
@@MidnightRoadGarage Does this apply to the door handles too - I mean they are not genuinly leather and then covered with the cloth?
@@RRudolf88 no leather underneath anything as far as I can tell.
