    Bro I have no doubt you are a great player but it would be more helpful if you started with basic strategies and maybe have two novice players play and coach one as the game progresses to show your technic. It would be easier to follow and more interesting 🤔

    he's a bit conceded but every thing he said was bang on minus one or two style differences.(then again i'm not a three time world champ)double blank is a solid opening on that board,my only concern would be where is 0/5.because as the triple champ will tell you keeping your opponent from scoring ten is one thing while keeping him from scoring 5 is a whole different animal.so i actually like the 0/1 opening better in that situation,still hoping to get my big blank out as spinner...he does know his shit,you don't win three world champions without being a master...i would like to play him,i'm sure i would have splinters by the time i got done but you can't learn from people who beat all the time..on a side note,i would like to get the champ's opinion on this...sometimes it takes me a bit longer to beat the novice then it does the skilled player.because you can't anticipate what the novice will play,they are subject to play any old rock that fits(and will try to play some that don't).it is easier to beat someone who THINKS they have a bit of skill.

    So I've done the math on automatic blocks, and there's only a 5% chance of pulling an automatic block hand of any kind when drawing 9 dominoes per hand. In this video travis is using a 0 - 1 block hand, but there are 42 kinds of automatic blocks. The difference between the 0 - 1 block and the 1 - 0 block is which double you play around. Taking any 2 suits between 0 to 6, there are 21 ways to choose 2 pairs. But because you can flip the spinner you multiply those choices by 2 to get 42 variations of automatic blocks.
    On the other hand, there's only a 1 / 1000 chance in drawing an automatic block of any kind in the traditional 7 draw version (NOT to be confused with the automatic domino hand).

    i paused it after the question.i need 100 to go,my opponent needs 10 to go.i choose the bottom hand(the one fat with blanks)the options that i would consider would be down big blank(pro's~ i'm strong with blanks[4],keeps the board low/ cons ~i don't have blank 5) ,,, 2/3 (pro's ~ my opponent can't score on it and i have a high probability of scoring on my next play / cons ~ there are actually many cons but the biggest is that there are tons of three's and a good many deuces out there),,,1/0 (pro's ~ only two rock's can score on it and i have them both 0/4 and 1/5 and i am fat with blanks and ace's / con's there are con's to every move but the way i see the board i think this has the fewest.yea,i would play 0/1.now let's see what the triple champ say's...

    • @sarcastamusraconteur6881
      @sarcastamusraconteur6881 8 років тому

      yes the bottom hand it the obvious better hand.i was talking about which is the best down in the bottom hand.almost every play has con's.,not all,but most.

    • @sarcastamusraconteur6881
      @sarcastamusraconteur6881 8 років тому

      there are only two good plays,that i see in that situation 0/0 and 0/1.there are pro's and con's to both.the con for the 0/0 play is.not knowing where 0/5 is.if my opponent has it he now only needs five to go.thats why i prefer the 0/1 move but as i said both(0/0 , 0/1) are the bottom players only two real options.both are good plays

      LOL you know I actually called the venue in Alabama that hosts that tournament and asked about this a couple of years ago. Interestingly enough, I was told there have been Canadian participants in the past. But for the mpst part, you're right, it's mostly a tournament with blowhard Americans.
      Does anybody seriously think America would dominate that tournament if this game were a part of Chinese, Russian, Japanese or European culture? I can guarantee you if, in some alternate universe, those countries knew and learned the game, Travis would not be a 3 time champion. It's likely there'd be a different champion every year.
      This cocky attitdue shouldn't be too surprising though when you think about it because Americans do this across the board (NFL, MLB, NBA). In fact back into 2009, Japan offered to play their yearly Nippon League champion against the World Series champion to crown a world champion, but naturally the MLB refused.
