Delightful and deliciously dark frolic aboard the splendid Oneida with a perfect cast and great directing music sets etc. Dunst and Herrmann shine.

I liked this movie I fist saw it at 12 I think when the movie was only 6 years old I . its a pretty good dark comedy.

Had Kirsten Dunst NOT been in this film, if may not have flopped as it painfully did.
The poor gir has nary a lick of talent. screen presence or winning personality. She is plain and forgettable in every film. There ARE others that can actual act..... choose them and send Kirsten back to the counter at Dunkin' Donuts.
If Chaplin had not been cast with that idiot, with a too-huge-head, who looks as much like Charlie Chaplin as Teddy Roosevelt looked like Chaplin, then it may not have flopped.

Please, if she was poor, Kirsten would more likely to be in a respectable job like a maid or even a waitress in a diner before she ends up in Dunkin Donuts.
