Thanks for the video, Mike! It certainly seems to make these particular tasks much easier. I can’t tell you the number of times I have come to UA-cam for exactly this content!
Thanks for watching, Sky :-)
Amazing straight forward video. This deserves a sub. Keep up the great work!
thanks appreciate it
Top man. Saved me breaking the plastic trim, handy if I ever decide to put it back on its stand. Much appreciated!
glad to help
Thank you! I did it with my xg27AQM. So if anyone is wondering, it does work on any Asus monitors with similar stand
Helped me a lot. Got new curved Monitor and mounted my old XG27W with wallhoder as 2nd monitor above it. 👍
Glad it helped
Thanks for this video Mike was looking at how to do this and your video popped up!
Glad I could help! :-)
Very useful video, helped to solve the problem
It’s amazing what monitors manufacturers will do these days to make them look good from the rear! Great camera work from Kath, thanks Mike and Kath.
Thanks for watching, Paul!
Maybe for all those long panning shots at LAN parties? ;-)
Thank you this rally helped me!! I have been looking for a vidio like this for days
Glad it helped!
cheers buddy :-)
this was very helpful, no muss no fuss right to the point great video :-)
Glad it helped
Thank you! Couldn't figure this out for the life of me. Thumbs up!!!
Glad it helped!
Very helpful, and concise. Thank you.
Mine is a PG27UQ but it's very similar. Your video was the only one that I found that showed how to remove it from the original stock mount. Other than no stand-offs, it's almost exactly the same. Oh, and the little plastic covers on mine are two same-sized half-circles instead of the larger and smaller combo.
I have that one as well
Thank you. Very helpful
Thank you very much! Saved me so much time. The actual manual is unbelievable 😂
Glad it helped!
just what i was searching for. 10/10
thanks for commenting
Thx you very much 👍👍👍 a big help
Me ayudo bastante, gracias por este video.
Thank you for this video. I bought a similar monitor and didn't see an obvious way to mount it on an arm which I was looking to do in the future.
Glad we could help!
Nice quick guide, sure it will help some out
Yep 👍 hope so although it is a bit of f a pricey monitor so I don’t think the mainstream will like it
Thx for helping me
Thanks alot Mike. I was stuck. Cheers
You're welcome!
Thank you for the video. Just got an Asus monitor and wasn't too sure.
Glad we could help!
Thank you! Was nearly heartbroken thinking this monitor wasn’t VESA compatible. Cheers!
Glad I could help!
Thank-you for this video.
My pleasure!
Thanks loads 👍
Thank you
Thank you so much!!!!!
Same for the XG27UQ, thanks mate!
thanks for watching
So yesterday I was sitting on the floor looking at the back of my brand spanking new monitor and wondering, how in the heck (cough cough) does this tabletop stand come off this thing??!! The LAST thing I wanted to do was go prying on various fragile bits to remove this thing, right??!! Hrm, it appears to be time to peruse UA-cam! And your video was first on the list! Thank you for saving me Mike! Asus FAILED to provide ANY instructions on how to do this! Shame on you Asus!!
Glad it helped :-)
Thanks. Makes considerably more sense than Asus's confusing and convoluted diagrams
thanks Tom, that is precisely the reason i made this as the instructions were awful
tankssss!!!
ty for this Video
thanks for watching
Thx!!!!
Nice how to Mike, this seams more complex than it should be though lol.
seems - spelling police out 😋
damn right bloody ROG TAX and ROG silliness
Omg thanks! Never used a dou me mount before and thought i couldn't with my asus monitor
Glad I could help!
thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank u for this, I .wanted to wall mount it
Glad it helped you :-)
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Thanks so much!
You're welcome!
Thanks legend! 😊
No problem 👍
Ty bro i love u
bless you
Thanks Mike! Seems pretty complex though! (Ghost beat me to first!)
this is way over complicated and it too far too long for me to actually work it out, that is why i figured others must be in the same boat and thinking it won't come off.
Thx man i completely forgot how it was assembled
You're welcome - it's not the easiest!
Thanks for the video. Which vesa mount can you recommend?
Difficult to say really there are lots of options for wall or desk mount and multi monitor etc
Thanks dood.
you are welcome
thank you sir
Most welcome
Thanks!

I'm contemplating buying a ROG XG349C, but it has long footstand legs that cover a large part of the desk. I wonder if it is possible to replace it with a smaller footstand, specifically if these stands are available or the feet can be constructed (3d print?) and added to the stand base.
not sure sorry not seen that one up close
Thank you soo much for the vidoe!! Please please can you make the vidoes on how to dismantle the entire monitor or remove its back cover? Because my buttons panel stopped working suddenly not even the power button is working and I wanna see if the panel cables are lose but can't find where the screws are and I don't want to break it. Thank you so much 🙏
i'll see what i can do, it is mounted on an arm at the moment
Thank you, I can't believe they did it that complex and they didn't include any information on the box. I was thinking in returning it😅
Glad I could help! It was overly complicated
@@mikesunboxing literally you save me!
@@Games_and_Tech glad to help you my friend
Is it possible to wall mount it?
It's so incredibly dumb that there aren't any instructions in the box on how to remove it. I don't mind it being a bit complex, but at least provide some instructions...
Ty fam
thanks 🙌
Hey, can this be mounted on a monitor arm and if so can you link one I can get I'm from Canada plz @mike
this is what my son uses amzn.to/44gPhWS
Thanks u ❤

Is there any mount that’s actually comparable with this? The circle for a square mount makes it not possible for most stands
any vesa mount works
I have an Asus Rogue swift pg27v. What monitor arm is compatible with this backing. Thank you
anything that supports VESA Wall Mounting 100x100mm is fine
Thanks saved me a headache
no problem
I have an asus pg258q, do I need an adapter to attach it to a monitor arm? Please help lol I dont know if I should get it or not
looks to be the same as the one i was looking at
Is it the same method for the xg279q monitor? Thank you
i think so, looks similar
any idea what screws are needed for the vesa mount because i lost mine
not sure sorry, m6 i think
thank you so much

@@mikesunboxing So can i use this on any monitor stand for or other asus monitors?
@@allenlejeune3303 no this is pretty specific to the model shown here.
@@mikesunboxing So i asked amazon about the ErGear 22-35” Premium Single Monitor Stand Mount 75-75 mm/100-100 and asked them will it work with the ROG SWIFT PG32UQ and they said yes if it the 75 or 100 mm size. Do you think this will work? Please Answer.
@@allenlejeune3303 sorry i misunderstood the question yes you can use most vesa type monitor mounts i thought you wanted to use the stand on this on other monitors
Danke
bitte sehr
how similar is the process with the ASUS VG248QE? i havent found a video to remove the stand on that one.
i was also looking for that dented spot behind but not sure if i see it.
i believe it is the same looking at it, but like you said there isn't a video or instructions to be found anywhere
Does the monitor stand still light up separated or does it need to be connected to the monitor?
the light is in the monitor
Can you replace the stand with other monitor arms? Do you have any recommendations?
yes you can as i found out later (and posted a video on it) the amazon gaslift ones are good and are in single or dual versions
@@mikesunboxing can you send me the link Mike? I am too stupid to find the video...
@@lukelhd amzn.to/3fHUEb1
This seems waaaaaaay too complicated than it needs to be. Smart monitor though......hope to be seeing a review on it real soon :)
yes this is the most over engineered stand i think i have ever seen
do you need to get a big spacer to mount it on a arm?
no not necessary
Hi Can you please suggest a vesa mount for this monitor
depends on if you want wall or desk mount and also the country you are in
Are there alternatives to the standfoot here? Unfortunately, it does not fit on my table. I need one that has more hold on small surfaces.
you can use a vesa mount type one or a wall mount
@@mikesunboxing but for every Roc Monitor? I have the XG27UQ which Vasa size they have?
is there any place where you can buy a custom stand?
amazon and ebay do universal ones for the vesa mount
Interesting.
Thanks 🙏
Anyone happen to know if these monitors fit on the secretlab magnus arms?
no idea but i would think so
will the xg27vq fit in a 100x100 mount
yes it looks like it
@@mikesunboxing thank you
Nice TSM
Hope it helped
is this the same mechanic as on the asus rog strix XG35V?
not sure, but very likely
I took off the panels to find I cannot see the screws, might not have any or its stuck? what should I do

Hey Mike are there any wall monitor mounts for this design since my 100x100 doesnt fit in the hole and i dont know what to do
not sure about wall mounts at least flush ones, the folding arm ones are okay like the Vonhous ones
@@mikesunboxing i found i way i just cut off the corners of the mounting plate and it fits

Is this a vesa 75x75 compatible or 100x100? help me please I’m struggling here.
think it is 100 but not sure i'll go measure it when i finish answering questions, if i forget drop me a quick email
Ok then thanks so much!! Waiting for the measurements and also the back of it is circle (the monitor)is this gonna fit ? ( vesa mount is usually square from the back).
@@Sfan922 measure from the screw hole to screw hole on the back and that gives the size (do it vertically or across not bottom left to top right like a TV measurement)
Hey is there any veso dual mounts that's work with a similar monitor Xg27uq

@@mikesunboxing thank you I'm just worried because I've looked more into mounting it and people say that the corners of the mounting stand won't fit because the back of the monitor is rounds and not flat and I've seen some pics of it and not all screws went in it from what I saw. But if you are certain it works I'll take your word thank you 🙏🏽

@@zzzzzzz1927 cool thanks for replying:) I’m iffy about it probably won’t end up trying it
Thank you for this video! I was convinced that my ASUS XG27A had no way to be VESA mounted. Nowhere is this info in the documentation provided with the monitor.
But following the instructions in this video solved my issue. Liked and subscribed.

yes it does
Anyone recommend a wall bracket for this monitor
amazon have loads on options i reviewed the vonhaus one a long time ago but still a good option

the same thing happens with the xg279?
i believe so
I just put it back on and the LED base is no longer turning on. Any ideas? Its on in the settings of the monitor
could be a poor connection or the software is turned off in the menu
@@mikesunboxing hi, what do you mean by poor connection? Because I checked the menu and it is turned on max level
there is a connection in the metal ring i think
Is there a way to turn off the LED red light?
yes in the menu there is an option to turn it off
Hey, do you mean the menu activated from the monitor buttons? I can't find any way to turn it off via that route.
Also, I have these thin white lines running through the bottom half of the monitor. It's a nuisance for editing as I can't test picture quality. The top half of the monitor is fine. Do you know how to repair this? I read something about calibrating the monitor..

How to remove ROG led part
not sure if you can, but you can turn it off
@mikesunboxing I founded the way:
Use Flat Screw put it in the hole where you can see the Star screw cap, then pull the part will come off easily
Didn't end up breaking the plastic part. That's how it worked for me
I think you were thinking about the led part with it's board no I wasn't talking about it. I was talking about the cover-up part where you have to change the glass plates of the RGB logo
