  • Broke down, over Tired & sick of People. This was a tough one. The volvo skid loader broke (again) during a three day ice blizzard / snow storm. On top of that we were tired and sick of dealing with the general public. Real life snowplowing.

We've all been there Stan, after 20 hours of plowing, and level 11 frustration we get a little bit short with people, it's nice to see the other side of the coin too for the other viewers out there that haven't experienced this. Also it's really human of you to say I feel like a tool after you see her with the little kid I've experienced something very similar many times and it's humbling.

Yes we’ve all been there and wanted to do the same thing but haven’t. On the flip side there are those of us that are out there supporting our little ones that we’d also like to get home to see. It’s a two way street, that most people who have never plowed ever think about.

    • @Beandiptheredneck
      @Beandiptheredneck 4 роки тому +1

Brent Wanamaker yep, it goes both ways, people (myself included) have a way of not seeing past their own nose and realizing how they are affecting those around them, easy to not want to be inconvenienced parking away from the door but it’s also easy to forget there’s a real person who now has to work around your car

Man I don't miss doing snow removal in Eagan. A few years ago me and my guy we're the only ones to show up for the biggest snow event of the season and the company didn't prepare or get help for us we worked 80 hours straight and in a 7 day period had 123 hours in. Your body just goes on auto pilot you can't fell anything but exhausted yet once you get home there's no way to fall asleep. I remember one of the sites where there is a coffee place it wasn't even your site to plow and you see me and my buddy working when nobody showed up and you took time out of your day and back dragged all the sidewalks you could reach it was a site where we weren't allowed to use four-wheelers or the compact tractors so you saved me and my friend almost four hours of work and we were able to catch some sleep because of you I appreciate dit so much at the time and now that I think back on it I just wanted to say thank you

We were in the high 60's and 70's most of last week then 3 inches of snow Tuesday down to 13 tonight and then back to warmer 60's in a few days. Two days of snow is plenty for me for the year, now it can go away. I'd rather go west 2 1/2 hour drive to the west to the mountains to see snow then leave it there.

Private lots can suck for sure, I do alot of city and some private and we have a system here called Know Your Zone, and alot don't hear about it or ignore it and last run was a complete mess. Graders did their thing and least 2 hours later we got down to that section of street and people were moving vehicles as we were blocking the street with snow, say the least we piled a couple piles making it difficult but do able to get out, wasn't 100% intentional just no where to pile snow after the directions we were given for certain criteria on that street and absolutely hell bound and no where to put snow we had to run it couple blocks away by loader....let's just say gong show for everyone

I can see you have a GREAT CREW !!!! Good move on not getting " OVER HEATED " with all the hick-ups going on !! Keeping your cool with the woman's car holding up everybody plans is not easy and very frustrating , but you handled it the right way !!! I can appreciate the way other people inconsiderate actions can make you feel but again you nailed it on a professional and mature level !!! I can totally relate . I just made a comment on an ongoing issue I have with DOG POO . I left it on your pool garbage clean out video . Thanks , B&A .

I used to plow for a major ski resort. We had chained up front end loaders with 12foot wide x 4 foot tall blades that weighed 10,000 lbs(just the blade). I remember one time a car had stayed for DAYS in the same parking lot, had been ticketed, and told not to park there. Well finally I had had it and one morning I was plowing out the 10 inches of fresh snow that had fallen and turned the blade towards the vehicle, and a tsunami of snow buried the undercarriage.
I've done some stupid things in my life, but this is not one of them.

We have plenty of mixed bag storms in New England, nothing new for us. One is happening right now. Last storm was the perfect storm, 6" of powder that started falling at 5 PM, finished at 1 AM and had everyone done by 7 AM on a Sunday. Snow was good and cold and back dragged easily with no packing. And we run Fisher Extream V plows mounted on Ford F 350 diesel pick ups.

20+ hr events. Been there more than a few times. Never easy but a good reminder that a little time spent on game planning for staffing shifts and possible equipment breakdowns does pay off, especially when managing extended snow events.

Been there done that and have plowed in a few cars.
Especially working around handicap parking spots clean enough just to get a good push then some jerk that didn't even have a handicapped tag.takes that one spot too work around again.
One push we had in Indianapolis in been a few years ago almost 30 hours in the cab.
We may had 10" in last two years. Not much snow work here this year.
As the hours are more the shorter the patience. Be safe and keep your patience.

We just got a 30+cm dump in Montreal and it's still snowing. It's been snowing for about 48hrs. Our clients are calling us non-stop wondering why the snow isn't completely removed from their sites. People just don't understand how long it takes to remove snow. Some days can be very frustrating.

Stanley, with the snopower when carrying a heavy load turn off the traction control. You will pull 10x better. Did you adjust the rear wings like you're supposed to? 1 inch off the ground closed on the ground. So easy. Man if you want a perfect scrape you have to with the rear I have it perfect. One swipe grab and go and I dump in the street. Push in reverse with the rear 16ft wide that gives the best scrape on the ice for getting it up so much better than the front plow. That rear plow is so damn bad ass it is ridiculous!!

I used to plow in the late 80's early 90's. One of my accounts was a a few White Castles. I was just about done with the lot and some drunk comes and parks where I was plowing. I told him hey, I'm in the middle of plowing here. He said I'll be right back. After 20 minutes, I took all the snow that I could and buried that car in and went off to my next lot. Came back an hour later to clean it up and the car was gone. Was one of those plowing moments I always said I would do and finally did. Very satisfying. LOL

Love the Grizzly !!!! I have two 2018 Kodiaks . One with Warn ProVantage 60" snow Plow and the other with Warn ProVantage 54'' plow bucket . Not too much snow here in Ocean City , Maryland , but the snow plow moves sand , mulch , manure , etc. very well . Hey , A PLOW IS STILL A PLOW . The bucket is indispensable for everything , I am using it now on a property to move mulch . Again , nice video !
